The general objective of this study is to grasp the treatment expenses of common diseases by character of medical care institutions. The specific objective is to find out the treatment expenses for selected common diseases by type of medical care institutions and also by level of symptom. A record review method was employed to obtain required information for the analysis of expenses. A total of 40,000 cases treated by 85 medical care institutions were selected by the study team during the period 22 June to 14 July 1988. The 85 medical care institutions were sampled by stratified proportionate random sampling method. The major findings obtained from the information collected by the study team are as follows ; 1) Treatment expenses were composed of physical examination, medication, injection anesthesia, rehabilitation surgical intervention, lab test, X-ray and diagnosis. The highest expenses was for medication, accounted for 36.7% of the total: 13.9%, injection; Lab, tests respectively: 10.5%, physical examination : 8.6% surgical intervention; 7.9% admission : 6.3%, X-ray and diagnosis: 1.5%, rehabilitation. 2) Treatment expenses per case of common diseases were quite different from not only type of medical care institutions, such as university hospital, general hospital, hospital and clinic, but also from level of symptom. 3) Treatment expenses per case for the aged were higher than that of the young. The treatment cases for over 60 years of age accounted for 19.4% of the total, however the proportion of treatment expenses accounted for 23.8% of the total. 4) Duration of treatment and visits for same diseases varied from type of medical cara institutions. Based on these study findings, the following further research should be conducted: (1) Establishment of health care delivery system. (2) Feasibility of the development of health care programme for the aged. (3) Strengthening for primary health care approach.
This study was conducted to evaluate the liquid composting efficiency using pig manure in different condition such as simple storage type reactor, continuous aeration reactor, anaerobic reactor and anaerobic agitation reactor. Continuous aeration reactor was the most efficiency method to BOD and malodors removal than other methods. While nitrogen loss in continuous aeration reactor was 47% of initial concentration, which was the higher amount than any other digestion methods. The digestion efficiency between anaerobic reactor and anaerobic agitation reactor were similar, but E. coli and malodor removal efficiency were a little higher in the anaerobic agitation reactor. Simple storage type reactor which was conventional digestion method in rural area gave lower efficiency than aerobic and anaerobic digestion methods in view of BOD, E. coli and malodor removal. The liquid composting efficiency which were evaluated by various indicators like pH, BOD, E, coli, malodor and nitrogen loss was high in the order of anaerobic agitation reactor>continuous aeration reactor>anaerobic reactor>simple storage type reactor.

With the advances of the big-data process technology, acquiring the real-time information from the massive image data taken by a mobile device inside a vehicle will be possible in the near future. Among the information that can be found around the vehicle, the route information is needed for safe driving. In this study, the automatic extraction of route information from the road sign imagery was dealt with. The scope of the route information in this study included the route number, route type, and their relationship with the driving direction. For the recognition of the route number, the modified Tesseract OCR (Optical Character Recognition) engine was used after extracting the rectangular-road-sign area with the Freeman chain code tracing algorithm. The route types (expressway, highway, rural highway, and municipal road) are recognized using the proposed algorithms, which are acquired from colour space analysis. Those road signs provide information about the route number as well as the roads that may be encountered along the way. In this study, such information was called “OTW (on the way)” or “TTW (to the way)” which between the two should be indicated is determined using direction information. Finally, the route number is matched with the direction information. Experiments are carried out with the road sign imagery taken inside a car. As a result, route numbers, route number type, OTW or TTW are successfully recognized, however some errors occurred in the process of matching TTW number with the direction.
In vitro embryo production (IVP) is affected by various factors during in vitro maturation, fertilization, and development. In this experiment, the effect of ovary type, quality of follicular oocyte, medium used for fertilization, presence of hormone in medium, sperm concentration on in vitro maturation and fertilization were examined for effective IVP. In vitro maturation was carried out using TCM-199 supplemented with 15% FCS and hormones in 5% $CO_2$ incubator for 24h. In vitro fertilization was performed with frozen-thawed sperm in modified mTALP medium containing 0.3% BSA, $10{\mu}g/ml$ heparin, and 5mM/ml caffeine for 24h. The fertilized embryos were co-cultured on monolayer of cumulus cells in TCM-199. When oocytes were collected from functionally active and inactive ovaries, maturation rate was 76.9 and 7.7%, respectively. When oocytes were classified morphologically to good and poor grades, maturation rate was 75 and 58.8%, respectively. FSH + LH + $E_2$ (86.4%) showed higher maturation rate than control (53.0%) and FSH (73%). The fertilization rate was 28.2, 100 and 91.7% in $1.6{\times}10^5$, $5.0{\times}10^5$ and $10.0{\times}10^5$ sperm concentration per ml. When oocytes were fertilized in mTALP and BO media, fertilization and cleavage rates of oocytes in mTALP were higher (84.3 and 56.9%) than those (67.4 and 23.3%) in BO medium. In this experiment, in vitro maturation, fertilization and development of oocytes were affected by type of ovary, grade of oocyte, hormones, sperm concentration and fertilization medium.

Recently, strong interest in the well-being and healthy food trends lead a spreading of rice processing products such as rice noodles, rice breads, and rice cakes. However, most of rice varieties developed in Korea showed very limited processing properties in processing of noodles compare to that of wheat flour. Moreover, low competitiveness as a raw processing materials due to high price give poor evaluations for rice noodles processing. To cope those barriers, 'Saemimyeon' a Tongil type high yielding variety with a high amylose contents was developed in RDA. 'Saemimyeon' showed about 10~32 % of increase in yield as 7.08MT/ha and 26.7% of high amylose contents together with easy grinding property of 65.7% of high chalkiness ratio. The both of milled as well as brown rice of 'Saemimyeon' were well fit for processing properties in rice pasta where the contents of rice flour for rice pasta was 99% (1% of Tapioka starch was intermixed in to the rice flour). A spaghetti type for wet noodles and macaroni type for dry noodles were developed, respectively. Each of pasta were showed relatively more or less an equal quality and panel test compare to that of durum wheat pasta products. Finally, rice pasta products could suggest an alternative idea for a new rice processing items where rice noodles market was stagnant.
Central commissary school foodservice operations' practices and their dietitians' job duties were assessed and compared with those of their counterpart of conventional school foodservice operations to find out strategies for early settlement and better management for commissary system. Survey qestionnaires consisted of general background, employees' work schedule and dietitians' job duties. 12 commissary schools(out of 22 existing in Korea) and 77 conventional schools from Kyungkido were participated in the survey. The results of this study can be summarized as follows: 1. Central commissary school foodservice was presently utilized at 5 schools from islands type, 11 schools from rural type, and 6 schools from urban type, consisting total of 22 commissary schools, and 52 satellite schools. 2. Dietitians were evenly employed with their experiences, 55.5% were those with less than 2 years of experience, 44.6% were those with more than 2 years of experience. 3. Commissary schools employed more full-time empolyees$(1.8{\pm}0.7)$ than conventional schools$(0.3{\pm}0.5)$, however as far as the production capacity was concerned, only the part-time employees played significant roles(p<.01). Regardless of the number of students, an absolute number of full-time employees were employed, and their duties were not carried out efficiently. The part-time employees of commissary schools performed more loaded work compared to their counterparts in conventional schools. 4. Out of the dietitians' foodservice duties, 'basic food service production$(3.9{\pm}0.7)$' were carried out adequately, whereas 'nutrition education and advertisement$(2.5{\pm}0.6)$' and 'administrative affairs and information related duties$(2.8{\pm}0.9)$' were not. In order to enhance their working capacity, systematic organizational reforms are imminent. 5. Survey results also showed that dietitians performed less duties at satellite school than at the central commissary. This indicates more systematic foodservice management practices are urgently needed.

This study was conducted on the field application for a method which is currently used. Although the method was performed with experimental knowledge, this study attempted to approach scientific ways through thirty sets of test-bed and three times monitoring limited by control variations for three months. The factors on previous studies are slope location, slope degree, type (roadfill vs. roadcut), aspect, vegetation cover, species, thickness, vertical length, horizontal length, soil type, elevation, erosion, soil-moisture, soil-hardness, pH, and so on. However, the factors of a suitable and significant level are slope degree, type, aspect, thickness, soil-moisture, vertical length and horizontal length in slope revegetation. the results were as follows : As a result of survey on soil types based on the status before construction, the rate of vegetation cover with non-mesh construction in soil areas was better than the rate of vegetation cover with fiber meshes and wire meshes. The rate of vegetation cover with fiber meshes in weathered rocks was better than using wire meshes. The rate of vegetation cover with the wire meshes in blasted rocks was better than using fiber meshes. Also, the factors affecting the rate of vegetation cover presented the number of appearance species, soil-moisture, thickness. this result presented the more appearance species as a positive role, and the lower soil-moisture and the thicker soil as a negative role.

To demonstrate anti-hyperlipidemic activity of the 19${\alpha}$-hydroxyursane-type triterpenoid (19${\alpha}$-HUT)-rich fraction, this fraction was prepared from the extract of Rubus crataegifolius leaves. This fraction was found to have anti-hyperlipidemic effect in a high fat diet-induced rat model from the observation of reduction of abdominal fat pad weights, atherogenic index and hypercholesterolemia at 30 and 60 mg/kg (p.o.) The 19${\alpha}$-HUT fraction was subjected to SiO$_2$, ODS, and/or Sephadex LH-20 column chromatography to yield a new triterpenoid (1) called pomolic acid ester along with nine known triterpenoids which are all 19${\alpha}$-HUTs: euscaphic acid (2), tormentic acid (3), 23-hydroxytormentic acid (4), kaji-ichigoside F$_1$ (5), rosamultin (6), niga-ichigosides F$_1$ (7) and F$_2$ (8), suavissimoside F$_1$ (9) and coreanoside F$_1$ (10). The structure of compound 1 was established as 28-O-formyl-3,19-dihydroxyurs-12-en-28-oic acid on the basis of 2D-NMR spectroscopic data and mass spectrum. Compound 1 was isolated for the first time from natural sources.
This study was carried out to establish a production system of cut flowers and bulbs of oriental hybrid lilies in highland in summer. In study, effect of cultivation type and shading was examined. The cultivation types used in the bulb production experiments were greenhouses with no cover, greenhouses with net screen (net screen house), and greenhouses with EVA roof cover and net screen sides (rain shelter house). Net screen and rain shelter houses had either 0 or 30% shading. Cultivation type had significant effect and shading had a minor effect on bulb production. The greatest yield and quality of produced bulbs were obtained in the rain shelter house with 30% shading. From the results of this study, it is concluded that dispersed production of high quality cut lily flowers and bulbs could be achieved during the summer in highland.

Allelic differences in A and B mating-type loci are a prerequisite for the progression of mating in the genus Pleurotus eryngii; thus, the crossing is hampered by this biological barrier in inbreeding. Molecular markers linked to mating types of P. eryngii KNR2312 were investigated with randomly amplified polymorphic DNA to enhance crossing efficiency. An A4-linked sequence was identified and used to find the adjacent genomic region with the entire motif of the A locus from a contig sequenced by PacBio. The sequence-characterized amplified region marker $7-2_{299}$ distinguished A4 mating-type monokaryons from KNR2312 and other strains. A BLAST search of flanked sequences revealed that the A4 locus had a general feature consisting of the putative HD1 and HD2 genes. Both putative HD transcription factors contain a homeodomain sequence and a nuclear localization sequence; however, valid dimerization motifs were found only in the HD1 protein. The ACAAT motif, which was reported to have relevance to sex determination, was found in the intergenic region. The SCAR marker could be applicable in the classification of mating types in the P. eryngii breeding program, and the A4 locus could be the basis for a multi-allele detection marker.
