The force-deformation relationship gives the basic physical properties of the fruits such as the bioyield point, the rupture point, and the deformations at the bioyield point and the rupture point. These informations are very important to study the stress-strain relationships of the fruits. This study was conducted to analyze those physical properties according to the sampling position of the fruits, and to determine the bioyield point, the rupture point, and the deformations at the bioyield point and the rupture point of the fruits for two different storage conditions(low temperature and normal temperature) and the storage period, and to investigate the effect of loading rate on those physical properties, the hysteresis on the loading-unloading condition and the degree of elasticity of the fruits. The results of the study were as follows : 1. The physical properties(BS, US, BD, and RD) of the test specimen selected from the different sampling positions were quite different. The values of the physical properties were shown smallest ones at the cheek of the fruits, and the statistical test results of the physical properties between the cheek from the other two positions of the fruits showed that there were significant difference at the 1 % level between them. 2. The effect of loading rate on the physical properties of the fruits was relatively large, all the considered physical propertis of the fruits increased with the loading rate, but the hysteresis loss decreased with it. 3. The physical properties of the fruits according to the storage conditions and period showed different, and the bioyield deformation and the rupture deformation of the fruits increased with the storage period, but the bioyield strength and the ultimate strength of the fruits decreased with it. The effect of the storage conditions on the those physical properties showed that the normal temperature storage condition was a little higher than the low temperature storage condition. 4. As a whole, it was shown that the bioyield strength and the ultimate strength of the pear decreased a little faster than those of the apple, and the bioyield deformation and rupture deformation of the pear increased a little faster than those of apple at the two storage conditions.
The initial strain, the applied stress exponent, the activation energy, and rupture time in AZ31 magnesium alloy have been measured in order to predict the deformation mechanism and rupture life of creep over the temperature range of 423-443K. Creep tests were carried out under constant applied stress and temperature, and the lever type tester and automatic temperature controller was used for it, respectively. The experimental results showed that the applied stress exponent was about 9.74, and the activation energy for creep, 113.6KJ/mol was less than that of the self diffusion of Mg alloy including aluminum. From the results, the mechanism for creep deformation seems to be controlled by cross slip at the temperature range of 423-443K. Also the higher the applied stress and temperature, the higher the initial strain. And the rupture time for creep decreased as quadratic function with increasing the initial strain in double logarithmic axis.
Magnesium alloys have given high attention to the industry of light-weigh as automobile and electronics with aluminium, titanium and composite alloys due to their high strength, low specific density and good damping characteristics. But the magnesium contained structures under high temperature have the problems related to creep deformation and rupture life, which is a reason of developing the new material against creep deformation to use them safely. The purpose of this study is to predict the creep deformation mechanism and rupture time of AZ31 magnesium alloy. For this, creep tests of AZ31 magnesium alloy were done under constant creep load and temperature with the equipment including automatic temperature controller with acquisition computer. The apparent activation energy Qc, the applied stress exponent n and rupture life have been determined over the temperature range below 0.5Tm and stress range of 109~187MPa, respectively, in order to investigate the creep behavior. AZ31 Magnesium alloy identify the activation energy for creep deformation and the stress dependence to creep rate at below 0.5Tm, and then investigate the mechanism for creep deformation and creep rupture life of AZ31 Magnesium alloy.
This study was performed to analyze the variation of various physicochemical factors related to the freshness of apple and tomato during post-harvest period. The total soluble solids content, uronic acid content, cell surface roughness. density, rupture deformation and rupture force were measured for 39 days at 7-day intervals for apple and for 11 days at 2-day intervals for tomato. respectively. The cell surface roughness of apple increased with the elapsed time, while the rupture force decreased. In case of tomato, uronic acid content, density and rupture deformation increased with the elapsed time whereas the rupture force decreased. Both apple and tomato exhibited the significant correlations among those physicochemical factors.
High-temperature rupture behavior of 5083-Al alloy was tested for failure at 548K under multiaxial stress conditions: uniaxial tension using smooth bar specimens, biaxial shearing using double shear bar specimens, and triaxial tension using notched bar specimens. Rupture times were compared for uniaxial, biaxial, and triaxial stress conditions with respect to the maximum principal stress, the von Mises effective stress, and the principal facet stress. The results indicate that the von Mises effective and principal facet stresses give good correlation for the material investigated, and these parameters can predict creep life data under the multiaxial stress states with the rupture data obtained from specimens under the uniaxial stress. The results suggest that the creep rupture of this alloy under the testing condition is controlled by cavitation coupled with highly localized deformation process, such as grain boundary sliding. It is also conceivable that strain softening controls the highly localized deformation modes which result in cavitation damage in controlling rupture time of this alloy.

Front the production on the farm to the consumer, agricultural products are subject to various physical treatments involving mechanical techniques and devices. It is essential to understand the physical laws governing the response of these biological materials so that the machines, processes, and handling operations can be designed fur maximum efficiency and the highest quality of the end products. A compression test system was developed to test the physical properties of fruits including apple, pear, and peach which may lead to a better understanding of the physical laws. The test system consisted of a digital storage oscilloscope and simple mechanism which can apply quasi-static compression to fresh fruits. Rupture force, energy, and deformation were measured at the five levels of compression speed from 1.25 to 62.5 mm/min for each internal and external tissues. Rupture forces for apple and pear were in the range of 42.2 to 46.2 N and 38.8 to 41.2 N for external and infernal tissues, respectively. Rupture forces fir peach external tissues were in the range of 48.2 to 54.0 N.
The potential use of ultrasonic technique for firmness measurement of apples was evaluated. Mechanical properties(bioyield deformation, bioyield strength, rupture deformation, ultimate strength, and elastic modulus) and ultrasonic parameters (ultrasonic velocity, attenuation coefficient and the first peak frequency) of the apple flesh during the storage time were measured and analyzed. Ultrasonic parameters were determined from the measurement of ultrasonic wave transmission through the apple flesh specimen. Mechanical properties were obtained by universal testing machine. The bioyield strength, rupture strength, elastic modulus, ultrasonic velocity, and the first peak frequency of the apple flesh decreased with the storage time. The bioyield deformation, rupture deformation, and ultrasonic attenuation coefficient increased with the storage time. The correlation analysis between ultrasonic parameters and mechanical properties and the storage time was performed. The high correlations were found between the storage time and the ultrasonic parameters, and these relationships seem to be useful for determining the firmness of the apple flesh.

Instrumentation and technologies are described for determining the vibration response characteristics of the pear with frequency range 5 to 320Hz. The computer program for controlling the vibration exciter and the function generator and for measuring the vibration response characteristics of the pear was developed. Mechanical properties such bioyield deformation, rupture deformation and apparent elastic modulus etc. were compared with the vibration response characteristics of the pear. The resonant frequency of the pear ranged from 53 to 102Hz and the amplitude at resonance was between 1.08 and 2.48g-rms. The resonant frequency and amplitude at resonance decreased with the increase of the sample mass, and they were slightly affected by mechanical properties such as bioyield deformation and rupture deformation. Regression analysis was performed among the relatively high correlated parameters from the results of correlation coefficient analysis.

In this study, the influence of thermal aging on structural integrity is investigated for Gr. 91 steel. A commercial grade Gr. 91 steel is used for the virgin material, and service-exposed Gr. 91 steel is sampled from a steam pipe of a super critical plant. Time versus creep strain curves are obtained through creep tests with various stress levels at 600 ℃ for the virgin and service-exposed Gr. 91 steels, respectively. Based on the creep test results, the improved Omega model is characterized for describing the total creep strain curve for both Gr. 91 steels. The proposed parameters for creep deformation model are used for predicting the steady-state creep strain rate, creep rupture curve, and stress relaxation. Creep-fatigue damage is evaluated for the intermediate heat exchanger (IHX) in a large-scale sodium test facility of STELLA-2 by using creep deformation model with proposed creep parameters and creep rupture curve for both Gr. 91 steels. Based on the comparison results of creep fatigue damage for the virgin and service-exposed Gr. 91 steels, the thermal aging effect has been shown to be significant.
High temperature tensiles tests, steady state creep tests, internal stress tests and creep rupture tests using Al 7075 alloy were performed over the temperature range of 9$0^{\circ}C$~50$0^{\circ}C$ and stress range of 0.64~17.2(kgf/$\textrm{mm}^2$) in order to investigate the creep behavior and predict creep rupture life From the apparent activation energy Qc and the applied stress exponent n measured, at the temperature range of 9$0^{\circ}C$~l2$0^{\circ}C$, the creep deformation seemed to be controlled by cross slip. On the other hand at the temperature of 20$0^{\circ}C$~23$0^{\circ}C$ the creep deformation seemed to be controlled by dislocation climb but at 47$0^{\circ}C$~50$0^{\circ}C$, by diffusion creep. And the rupture life(t$_{f}$) might be represented by anthermal process attributed to the difference of the applied stress dependence of Internal stress and the ratio of the Internal stress to the applied stress, the thermal activated process attributied to the temperature dependence of the internal stress. Also the ratio between stress dependence of primary creep rate and that of minimum creep rate was measured 0.46, the minimum creep rate is expected to be appromately obtained from master creep curve including the relationship primary creep rate and minumum creep rate. Finally the relationship new rupture parameter and logarithmic stress was represented with including the ratio between the dependence of primary creep rate and that of minimum creep rate, using the new rupture parameter the rupture life predition is exactly expected.d.
