실별제어 온수분배기의 유량분배 특성 (A Flow Quantity Distribution Characteristics of the Hot Water Header for Individual Room Control System)

  • Flow quantity to supply to a coil in floor heating system is important to achieve comfortable indoor air condition in the winter season. The hot water header is used to distribute the water into the coil. Experimental study has been performed using the water header that have 5 branches consisted of flow control valves and automatic shut-off valves. Each branch line connected it with X-L pipe. Experimental tests accomplished it to investigate the flow distribution characteristics of the hot water header. Experimental results show that the selection of the pump head and differential pressure are very important to save running energy of the system, and high differential pressure needs more friction loss in the case of suitable differential pressure for balancing of the header.

  • A vertical-axis multistage pump with low specific speed was developed, satisfying performance requirements such as flow rate, total head, and NPSH. The developed pump was designed through conceptual design, configuration design, and performance analysis by CFD which were established in KIMM. The prototype pump's mechanical wholesomeness besides hydraulic performances were verified by running test, performance test, and reliability test.

Comparision of Irregular Quadtree Decomposition with Full-search Block Matching for Synthesizing Intermediate Images

  • To allow multiple viewers to see the correct perspective and to provide a singh1 viewer with motion parallax cues during head movement, more than two views arc needed. Since it is prohibitive to acquire, process, and transmit a continuum of views, it. would preferable to acquire only a minimal set of views and to synthesize intermediate images. This paper presents how to synthesize the intermediate images using irregular quadtree decomposition and compares the proposed methods with full-search block matching. The image at the middle viewpoint between both viewpoints is synthesized and yields a 32.8 ㏈ peak-signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) which is 2.8 ㏈ high and has a running time 30% of that for conventional full-search block matching.

방사선 치료용 MM-22 의학용 마이크로트론 가속기 (MM-22 Medical Microtron Accelerator for Radiotherapy)

  • The MM-22 medical microtron at Korea Cancer Center Hospital has been running for radiotherapy since it was installed in 1986. The microtron is a very flexible radiation therapy device with excellent radiation field for photon or electron therapy. The microtron accelerates elections from an energy of minimun 5.3MeV to an energy of maximum 22.5MeV. The electrons are led from the microtron to the treatment head via a beam transport system and are used for radiotherapy. Present paper describes the system structures and operating characteristics of the MM-22 microtron and its therapy unit.

  • This paper is for a Real-time Active Control System to operate a boiler. By sensing of flame we wanted to get status of a furnace as many as possible, like load, efficiency, and/or amount of pollutant. These data can be used to make optimal running point by controlling the ratio of air and fuel. So the last object is to make a closed actual control loop from optical head to valve controllers. The first job was to design and to develop a optical data acquisition system. including optical sensor module. And we gathered flame data in variable situations for taking the trend of flame against burning environment. Currently we are developing a general system model, designing some control strategy and testing this active control system.

  • Miniature Joule-Thomson cryocoolers have been widely used for rapid cooling of infrared detectors, probes of cryosurgery, thermal cameras, missile homing head and guidance system, due to their special features of simple configuration, compact structure and rapid cool-down characteristics. The cool-down time, the temperature at the cold end, the running time and the gas consumption are the important indicators of the performance of the J-T cryocooler. In this study, the initial cool-down stages of the J-T cryocooler were investigated by numerical simulations. The results show the effects of the initial charging pressures of gas on the cool-down time and the temperature at the cold end and the gas consumptions.

  • In this study, a measuring system for performance of pantograph was developed. The measuring system was installed on the prototype high speed train and measurement has been conducted during running on the test track. The measuring system is composed of video monitoring system and telemetry & data processing system. It can monitor the hazard behavior of pantograph and measure acceleration and vertical force of the pan head. Owing to the measuring system, performance of pantograph and safety of interface system of pantograph and catenary is evaluated.

실험적으로 전방이동시킨 가토의 악관절원판에 관한 연구 (EXPERIMENTAL STUDY ON THE ANTERIORLY DISPLACED TEMPOROMANDIBULAR JOINT MENISCUS IN RABBIT)

  • The study was designed to analyse the reorganization of the rabbit TMJ meniscus which was anteriorly displaced by surgery. The author compared the anteriorly displaced groups with control group. After surgical opening of the left rabbit TMJ space, cut the posterior attachment of the meniscus, and pushed it under the undercut area of the condyle head. Experimental groups were sacrificed by 1, 2, 4, 8 weeks after surgery. The samples were analysed with light microscope under T-B stain and electron microscope. The results were as follows: 1) The rabbit TMJ meniscus consisted of thick anterior and posterior band running different way, and comparative thin intermediate band runining antero-posteriorly. 2) Round oval shape chondrocyte-like cells were imbeded between the collagen fiber bundles and composed of proteoglycan granules, that showed metachromasia with toluidine blue, around the cell matrix. 3) Type II collagen fiber bundles in experimental group occured degenerative changes in organic patterns at 8 weeks, but those of type I collagen fiber bundles sustained longer, 4) The typical fibrocartilage of the rabbit TMJ meniscus was changed into fibrotic mode in process of time and showed the degenerative changes, which contained hyperplasia, calcification, resorption and hyalinization in the connective tissue. 5) The hyperplastic change of the synovial membrane in 4 week group and transitional change from fibrocyte to chondrocyte in cell type in 8 week group were observed. 6) The diameters of collagen fibers were diminished with the degenerative changes, the shape of the fibers became wavier and more nonorganic in running pattern and fiber bundle spaces widened.

영종대교 강직결 궤도구조의 동적거동에 관한 연구 (Dynamic Behavior of Direct Fixation Track on Yeongjong Grand Bridge)

  • 본 연구에서는 영종대교를 구성하고 있는 교량형식(트러스교, 현수교)별 열차종류(AREX, AREX Express, KTX, KTX-Sancheon) 및 열차속도가 강직결 궤도구조의 동적거동에 미치는 영향을 분석하고자 현장측정을 수행하였다. 현장측정결과를 바탕으로 궤도충격계수 및 열차주행안정성(탈선계수, 윤중감소율, 레일두부횡변위)을 국내, 외 관련기준 및 법규와의 비교하여 영종대교 교량상 강직결 궤도구조의 동적거동에 영향을 미치는 열차하중 및 속도의 효과를 분석하였다. 연구결과, 영종대교 교량형식별 궤도의 동적거동의 차이는 뚜렷하지 않으나 열차하중의 크기에 보다 직접적인 영향을 받는 것으로 분석되었다. 따라서 향후 열차속도 증가에 따른 궤도충격계수의 증가와 이에 따른 궤도부담력의 증가수준을 감안한 영종대교 강직결 궤도구조의 보강방안 수립이 필요할 것으로 판단된다.

ECDIS에 의한 외끌이 기선저인망 어선의 투양망 조업 과정의 실시간 모니터링 (Real-time monitoring of net setting and hauling process in fishing operations of Danish seine vessel using ECDIS)

  • This paper describes on the real-time monitoring of net setting and hauling process for fishing operations of Danish seine vessels in the southern waters of Korea as an application of a PC based ECDIS system. Tracking of fishing process was performed for the large scale Danish seine vessel of G/T 90 and 350 PS class using the fishing gear which the length of net, ground rope, head rope and sweep line including warp in both sides were 86m, 104m, 118m and 3,200m, respectively. Tracking information for net setting and hauling process was continuously recorded for 23 fishing operations performed on November and December, 2003. All measurement data, such as trawl position, heading, towing course and past track which was individually time stamped during data acquisition, was processed in real time on the ECDIS and displayed simultaneously on the ENC chart. The results indicated that after the separation of a marker buoy from Danish seiner, the averaged running speed of vessel and the averaged setting period while shooting the seine on the course of diamond shape to surround the fish school in the 23 fishing operations were 8.3 knots and 13.1 minutes, respectively. And with the maker buoy taken on board, the averaged running speed of vessel and the averaged towing period while closing the seine on the straight route was 1.0 knots and 47.0 minutes, respectively. After the closing stage of hand rope, the hand rope was towed by the averaged speed of 2.2 knots during the 13.0 minutes. The average area for route of diamond shape swept by sweep lines of the seine in 23 fishing grounds was $709,951.6m^2$. Further investigation is also planed to provide more quantitative tracking information and to achieve more effective surveillance and control of Danish seine vessels in EEZ fishing grounds.
