An Exploratory Study on Brand Personality : The Case of A Traditional Casual Brand in Korea

  • In order to build strong brand equity in the current market circumstances, it is essential to understand the core dimensions of brand image, which is brand personality. The objectives of this study were to identify the brand personality dimensions of a casual brand, "BeanPole," and to investigate the effects of the brand personality on BeanPole buyers' brand preference, satisfaction and loyalty. The data were collected via a web survey. The sample consists of 500 people between the ages of 18-45 who are familiar with Bean Pole casual clothing brand (male- 40%; female-60%). Sixty-six percent of the sample indicated that they had purchased the Bean Pole clothing during the last three years. A total of five factors were extracted from the brand personality index scale: They were excitement/sophistication, competence, sincerity, ruggedness, and smoothness. Compared to the B/P non-buyers, B/P buyers tended to rate excitement/sophistication, competence, sincerity, and the smoothness brand personality dimensions higher. Multiple regression analysis revealed that excitement/sophistication, competence, sincerity and ruggedness brand personality were significant predictors of respondents' casual clothing brand preference, satisfaction, and brand loyalty. Among these significant predictors, competence was the best predictor of casual clothing brand preference, satisfaction and brand loyalty. Based on these findings, strategic implications are discussed.

Brand Personality and Consumer Behavior for Laptop Purchases in Nepal

  • Purpose: The study's objective was to examine the impact of brand personality dimensions on consumer behavior for laptop purchases in Nepal. Research Materials and Methods: The study included descriptive and explanatory research designs. A structured questionnaire with a purposive sampling method was employed to gather the necessary information for the study. The survey data were analyzed using a quantitative approach. The study used descriptive statistics to characterize the response conditions. Correlation analysis was used to investigate the relationship between brand personality dimensions and consumer behavior. Regression path analysis was employed to identify the effect of brand personality dimensions and consumer behavior. Results: The result of regression path analysis showed that the three dimensions - competency, ruggedness, and sophistication, have a significant effect on consumer behavior, and the two dimensions- sincerity and excitement do not have a substantial impact on consumer behavior in laptop buying in Nepal. Conclusions and Implications: Such findings can serve as pioneering empirical evidence and provide a framework for marketers and future studies in various scenarios. The study's findings can help marketing managers in handling information management. Manufacturers, wholesalers, and retailers can also use the results in formulating marketing strategies, and marketers need to be aware of such considerations for influencing consumer behavior.

  • An HPLC assay method of a drug to be applied to the pharmacokinetic studies of the drug should be completely validated. The validation process for an HPLC assay method in a biological sample was discussed using the data obtained from the development of HPLC method for the simultaneous quantitation of verapamil and norverapamil in human serum. The validation criteria included were specificity, linearity, accuracy, precision, sensitivity, recovery, drug stability, and ruggedness of an assay method.

  • In this paper, the basic requirements of catenary in railroad traction is explained. Three different types of catenary suspension systems for different terrains, environments and high speed / low speed trains are presented. The essential requirements of catenary such as reliability, cost effectiveness, maintenance and ruggedness requirements are discussed. The catenary materials and safety problems associated in it are dealt.

  • The current source inverter-fed induction motor(CSIM) drive is widely used in industry because of its four quadrant operation, fuseless protection, fuseless protection, and ruggedness. the CSIM drive system, however, has shortcomins such as slow response and dynamic stability to load torque disturbance and reference speed change. Such a disadvantages can be compensated considerably by means of introducing additional angle angle control loop. The angle control method is dependent upon the inverter type. In this paper, simultaneus recovery and commutation inverter(SRCI) which is developed recently is considered.

학생-대학간 브랜드 퍼스낼리티 일치성이 신뢰, 만족, 충성도에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Brand Personality Congruity between Student and College on Trust, Satisfaction, and Loyalty)

  • 최근 수업연한, 교육서비스제공방식 등에 의해 다양한 유형의 대학들이 나타나고 있으며, 소비자인 학생들의 특성 역시 점차 다양해지고 있다. 본 연구는 대학유형별로 학생-대학간 브랜드 퍼스낼리티 일치성차이가 나타나는지 검증하고, 일치성이 신뢰, 만족, 충성도에 미치는 영향을 분석하고자 하였다. 기존 연구에서 제시된 5가지의 브랜드 퍼스낼리티 척도(Brand Personality Scale: BPS)를 활용하여 다음과 같은 두 가지 연구를 진행하였다. 첫 번째 연구는 대학유형에 따라 학생-대학간 퍼스낼리티 일치성에 차이가 존재하는지 밝히는 탐색적 성격의 연구이며, 연구결과 일반대학은 능력(competence), 세련(sophistication), 강인(ruggedness)측면에서, 전문대학은 성실(sincerity)측면에서, 사이버대학은 열정(excitement)측면에서 각각 학생-대학간 퍼스낼리티 일치성이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 두 번째 연구는 학생-대학간 퍼스낼리티 일치성이 신뢰, 만족, 브랜드충성도에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 브랜드 퍼스낼리티 일치성은 신뢰, 만족, 브랜드 충성도에 모두 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.

  • The SRM (Switched Reluctance Motor) is composed of silicon steel plates where the rotor structure is simple and laminated without coil winding or permanent magnet, making it mechanically robust and its maintenance and repair excellent. Applying SRM as traction motor for railway vehicle is given consideration because of its ruggedness capability in severe loading condition and its compact structure. Optimal design of SRM is needed to reduce torque ripple to apply SRM for railway traction drive because SRM has high torque ripple. In this paper, switched reluctance motor with three different stator pole shapes is taken for magnetic analysis using 3d finite element method to apply SRM as traction drive for railway vehicle. It is observed that the model 3 added Tooth Tang Depth and Slot Round to stator shape gives the improved inductance and torque characteristic.

  • A Switched Reluctance Generator attracts much attention in the generator because of high efficiency, simplicity, and ruggedness. However, they require rotor position information to operate. In many systems, the rotor position sensor is expensive, limited and undesirable. This paper describes a new approach to estimating the rotor position of the SRG from the measured terminal voltage and current for rotor position sensorless control. The proposed method is based on the instantaneous flux of the SRG. The proposed technique is very simple. The proposed method is verified by computer simulation and experiments.

  • In this paper, a cost-effective integrated 3D system for measuring and sizing foot is proposed. The proposed system employs two CCDs and a laser line projector which are capable of accurately measuring foot. The measurement is based upon the biologically motivated stereo vision principle providing ruggedness against minor system distortions. According to the tolerance, calibration between two different views are implicitly applied. Furthermore, the measurement system employs a measurement base, a frame grabber, a CCD moving cart, a stepping motor and computer. Analysis and design procedure is presented for the calculation of the 3D foot data and the proposed system. Experimental results on the proposed system would verify the concept and system operation.
