UGVs(Unmanned Ground Vehicles) are robots that can substitute humans in reconnaissance operations of potentially dangerous and contaminated sites. Currently, there have been active research on utilizing UGVs in military environments. Much resrach has been focused on exploiting the weakness of topology-based routing and instead utilize location-based routing for the networking of UGVs. It is generally assumed that location-based routing methods can fully utilize the location information gained from GPS. However, this may not be possible in tactical environments due to enemy GPS jamming and LOS(Line of Sight) limitations. To solve this problem, we propose a location-based routing scheme utilizing low control message that can calibrate the location information using GPS information as well as location of neighboring UGV, movement direct and speed information. Also utilizing topology-based routing scheme to solve incorrect location information in GPS jamming region.

In this paper, we proposed a node architecture and cell routing strategies for ATM applications in WDM multihop networks. The proposed node architecture employs the optical delay loop for storing the cell which is failed in out-link contention. This optical delay loop allows the delay of one cell without the electro-optic conversion. Therefore, we can get the advantages of S&F(Store-and-Forward) routing in Deflection-based all-optical networks. To support the ATM applications efficiently. we considered the transmission priority of ATM cell so that high priority cell can be transmitted with lower loss and shorter delay than low priority one. Two kinds of routing strategies are designed for this architecture: Scheme-Ⅰand Scheme-Ⅱ. Scheme-Ⅰapplies S&F routing to high cell and Deflection routing to low cell, i.e., high cells are routed along the shortest path based on S&F routing, but low cells are deflected or lost. Schem-Ⅱ is similar to Scheme-Ⅰexcept that low cells can occupy the optical loop if it is available. This Scheme-Ⅱ increases the utilization of network resources without decreasing the throughput of high cell by reducing the low cell loss rate when traffic load is low. Simulation results show that our routing strategies have better performance than conventional ones under non-uniform traffic as well as uniform traffic.

Many routing algorithms, proposed for ad-hoc wireless networks, we based on source routing scheme and shortest path route has short lifetime especially in highly dense ad-hoc wireless networks. So some routing protocols such as SSA and ABR are considering the link stability and try finding more stable route. In this paper we propose a new routing algorithm considering utilization metric based on SSA routing algerian in Ad-Hoc networks. To reduce the bottleneck by specific metric of SSA, proposed scheme makes load balancing in networks by distributing the connections to several routes. For the evaluation of the performance we compare our scheme with existent routing protocol AODV and SSA. And the results, obtained using the ns-2 network simulation platform, show good performance that reduced the number of reconstructions remarkably by distributing the whole traffic to several routes when there are several stable routes.

Mobile ad hoc nodes are supposed to be equipped with a number of operation modules including a specific routing operation module in heterogeneous MANET environment. It is not possible for a mobile node to carry all the necessary operation modules due to the limited resources. This paper proposes a scheme to reconfiguring mobile ad hoc nodes using smart packets in heterogeneous routing domains. The smart packet protocol has a capability to transfer a binary execution module to a mobile node, by which a node can be equipped with any necessary routing modules in any MANET environment. The proposed smart packet agent is designed to be suitable to a light weight terminal owing to its simple architecture. The utility of the proposed scheme was demonstrated through an example of DYMO scenario in the wireless network.

In geographic routing for wireless sensor networks, sources need the location of sinks destined for delivering their data packets. Most of the existing geographic routing protocols merely assume that the sources can get the locations of sinks by some location service. How source nodes find out the location of sinks is not easy. In this paper, we propose a sink location dissemination scheme in geographic routing for wireless sensor networks. In this scheme, a source node and a sink node send sink location announcement and query messages along two paths respectively by geographic routing. The node located on the crossing point of the two paths informs the source about the sink location. Then the source can send data packet to the sink by geographic routing. How to guarantee that these two paths have at least one crossing point in any irregular profile of sensor network is the challenge of this paper Simulation results show that our protocol is significantly superior to other protocols in terms of energy consumption and control overhead.

Information theory progression along with the advancements being made in the field of Vehicular Ad hoc NETworks (VANETs) supports the use of coding-aware opportunistic routing for efficient data forwarding. In this work, we propose and investigate an adaptive coding-aware routing scheme in a specific VANET scenario known as a vehicular platoon. Availability of coding opportunities may vary with time and therefore, the accurate identification of available coding opportunities at a specific time is a quite challenging task in the highly dynamic scenario of VANETs. In the proposed approach, while estimating the topology of the network at any time instance, a forwarding vehicle contemplates the composition of multiple unicast data flows to encode the correct data packets that can be decoded successfully at destinations. The results obtained by using OMNeT++ simulator reveal that higher throughput can be achieved with minimum possible packet transmissions through the proposed adaptive coding-aware routing approach. In addition, the proposed adaptive scheme outperforms static transmissions of the encoded packets in terms of coding gain, transmission percentage, and encoded packet transmission. To the best of our knowledge, the use of coding-aware opportunistic routing has not been exploited extensively in available literature with reference to its implications in VANETs.

Previous secure routing protocols for wireless sensor networks assume that a sink is static. In many cases, however, a sink operated by man or vehicle is moving. A mobile sink creates a lot of technical problems such as reconfiguration of routing path exposure of sink location. and selection of secure access point node, which are not considered by many previous researches. In this paper, we propose a new secure routing scheme for solving such problems using hi-directional hash chain and delegation nodes of grid structure. This scheme provides a secure routing path and prevents attacker from recognizing the location of a mobile sink in sensor networks. This new method reduces the resource requirements compared to the cashed routing schemes. Simulation results also show that the system is secure and efficient enough.
We study an degree of alternativeness and a survivability of alternate routing algorithm in mobile ad-hoc tactical communication networks. The common channel signaling scheme is used and flood search routing algorithm is used for analysis. We also study a connectivity performance for flood search routing, restricted flooding and hybrid routing. From the results we expect low blocking probabilities with alternate routing and the conventional flood search routing shows better connectivity performance which results in high survivability.

Bio-inspired routing protocol uses a principle of swarm intelligence, which finds the optimal path to the destination in a distributed and autonomous way in dynamic environments, so that it can maximize routing performances, reduce control overhead, and recover a path failure quickly according to the change of network topology. In this paper, we propose a bio-inspired routing protocol for mobile ad hoc networks. The proposed scheme uses a function of overhearing via wireless media in order to obtain the routing information without additional overhead. Through overhearing, the pheromone is diffused around the shortest path between the source and destination. Based on this diffused pheromone, a probabilistic path exploration is executed and the useful alternative routes between the source and destination are collected. Therefore, the proposed routing protocol can ensure the up-to-date routing information while reducing the control overhead. The simulation results show that the proposed scheme outperforms the typical AODV and AntHocNet protocols in terms of routing performances and significantly decreases the routing overhead against the AntHocNet.
The deployment of multicast communication services in the Internet is expected to lead a stable packet transfer even in heavy traffic as in On-Line Game environment. The Core Based Tree scheme among many multicast protocols is the most popular and suggested recently. However, CBT exhibit two major deficiencies such as traffic concentration or poor core placement problem. So, measuring the bottleneck link bandwidth along a path is important for understanding the performance of multicast. We propose not only a definition of CBT's core link state that Steady-State(SS), Normal-State(NS) and Bottleneck State(BS) according to the estimation link speed rate, but also the changeover of multicast routing scheme for traffic overload. In addition, we introduce anycast routing tree, a efficient architecture for construct shard multicast trees.
