An Interval Algebra-based Modeling and Routing Method in Bus Delay Tolerant Network

  • In bus delay-tolerant networks, the route of bus is determinate but its arrival time is indeterminate. However, most conventional approaches predict future contact without considering its uncertainty, which makes a limitation on routing performance. A novel approach is proposed by employing interval algebra to characterize the contact's uncertainty and time-varying nature. The contact is predicted by using the Bayesian estimation to achieve a better routing performance. Simulation results show that this approach achieves a good balance between delivery latency and delivery ratio.

  • Geographic routing has attracted many researcers with no need for routing table to forward packet in mobile ad hoc networks. Previously, some literatures have mentioned how to improve the performance via simulation results. However, they didn't address the impact of various mobility models and beacon interval, which is used to maintain recent position information for nodes. In this paper, we introduce well-known geographic routing protocol called as GPSR and conduct simulation to identify the impact of these parameters. Even though GPSR shows acceptable performance in most cases, sometimes its performance becomes worse than what we expect.

  • E-Health allows you to supersede the central patient wireless healthcare system. Wireless Body Sensor Network (WBSN) is the first phase of the e-Health system. In this paper, we aim to understand e-Health architecture and configuration, and attempt to minimize energy consumption and latency in transmission routing protocols during restrictive latency in data delivery of WBSN phase. The goal is to concentrate on polling protocol to improve and optimize the routing time interval and schedule communication to reduce energy utilization. In this research, two types of network models routing protocols are proposed - elemental and clustering. The elemental model improves efficiency by using a polling protocol, and the clustering model is the extension of the elemental model that Destruct Supervised Decision Tree (DSDT) algorithm has been proposed to solve the time interval conflict transmission. The simulation study verifies that the proposed models deliver better performance than the existing BSN protocol for WBSN.

  • A high performance routing switch is an essential device to either the high performance parallel processing or communication networks that handle multimedia transfer systems such as VOD. The high performance routing chip called STC104 is a typical example in the technical aspect which has 32 bidirectional links of 100Mbps transfer sped. It has exploited new technologies, such as wormhole routing, interval labeling, and adaptive routing method. The high speed router has been applied into some parallel processing system as a single chip. However, its performance over the various interconnection networks with multiple routing chips has not been studied. In this paper, the strucrtures and characteristics of the STC104 have been investigated in order to evaluate the high speed router. Various topology of the STC104, such as meshes, torus, and N-cube are defined and constructed. Algorithms of packet transmission have been proposed based on the interval labeling and the group adaptive routing method implemented in the interconnected network. Multicast algorithms, which are often requited to the processor networks and broadcasting systems, modified from U-mesh and U-torus algorithms have also been proposed overcoming the problems of point-to-point communication.

  • Large-scale wireless sensor network are expected to play an increasingly important role for the data collection in harmful area. However, the physical fragility of sensor node makes reliable routing in harmful area a challenging problem. Since several sensor nodes in harmful area could be damaged all at once, the network should have the availability to recover routing from node failures in large area. Many routing protocols take accounts of failure recovery of single node but it is very hard these protocols to recover routing from large scale failures. In this paper, we propose a routing protocol, which we refer to as LSFA, to recover network fast from failures in large area. LSFA detects the failure by counting the packet loss from parent node and in case of failure detection LSFAdecreases the routing interval to notify the failure to the neighbor nodes. Our experimental results indicate clearly that LSFA could recover large area failures fast with less packets than previous protocols.

  • A MANET(Mobile Ad-hoc Network) is a multi-hop routing protocol formed by a collection without the intervention of infrastructure. So the MANET also depended on the property as like variable energy, high degree of mobility, location environments of nodes etc. Generally the various clustering technique and routing algorithm would have proposed for improving the energy efficiency. One of the popular approach methods is a cluster-based routing algorithm using in MANET. In this paper, we propose an algorithm techniques which is TICC (Time Interval Clustering Control) based on energy value in property of each node for solving cluster problem. It provides improving cluster energy efficiency how can being node manage to order each node's energy level. TICC could be able to manage the clustering, re-configuration, maintenance and detection of Node in MANET. Furthermore, the results of modeling shown that Node's energy efficiency and lifetime are improved in MANET.

An Efficient If Routing Lookup by Using Routing Interval

  • Nowadays, the commonly used table lookup scheme for IP routing is based on the sc-called classless interdomain routing (CIDR). With CIDR, routers must find out the best matching prefix (BMP) for IP packets forwarding, this complicates the IP lookup. Currently, this process is mainly performed in software and several schemes hale been proposed for hardware implementation. Since the IP lookup performance is a major design issue for the new generation routers, in this article we investigate the properties of the routing table and present a new approach for IP lookups, our approach is not based Gn BMP and significantly reduces the complexity, thus the computation cast of existing schemes can be significantly reduced. We also propose an efficient IP lookup algorithm, with which we improve the binary search on prefixes to 30 millions of packets per second (MPPS) and 5,000 route updates/s under the same experiment setup with an even larger routing table.

  • In geographic forwarding algorithms, traditional route maintenance requires mobile nodes periodically exchange beacon messages with their neighbors. In beacon message based forwarding scheme, a longer interval reduces the number of beacons needed, but may result in significant location errors. Conversely, a shorter interval guarantees more accurate location information, but induces control overheads.Therefore, the fixed or dynamic interval scheme based forwarding schemes cannot adapt well to different mobility environments. Also, existing schemes result in the uncertainty of neighbor node's position in the forwarding table of mobile node. Therefore, this paper presents a self-adaptive location checking mechanism based proactive geo-routing algorithm for beacon-based geographic routing. Simulation results show that the proposed routing algorithm not only significantly increases the relay transmission rate but also guarantees the high end-to-end packet delivery in low and high mobility environments.

  • This research is about developing an efficient solution procedure for the vehicle routing problem under varying vehicle moving speeds for hour-based time interval. Different moving speeds for every hour is too difficult condition to solve for this type of combinatorial optimization problem. A methodology to divide the 12 hour based time interval offered by government into 5 different time intervals and then divide delivery area into 12 small divisions first and then re-organizing them into 5 groups. Then vehicle moving speeds are no longer varying in each of the 5 divisions. Therefore, a typical TSP solution procedure may be applied to find the shortest path for all 5 divisions and then connect the local shortest paths to form a delivery path for whole area. Developed solution procedures are explained in detail with 60 points example.

  • In the design of digital system, designers use multi-layer LSI to connect all signal sets between circuit modules. This paper suggests how to minimize upper street congestions and lower congestions in the single-row routing, a routing method of multi-layer LSI. This paper suggests the heuristic algorithm which minimize upper street congestions and lower street congestions by suggesting interval graph and relational operator and finding out of the order of signal sets The algorithm was implemented on a VAX-11/780 computer and illustrated by means of examples.
