  • The rotational performance off machine tool spindle has a direct influence upon the surface finish of the finished workpiece. This running accuracy of the spindle is improved by increasing preload on the bearings, while it results in higher temperature rise and larger thermal deformation. Therefore, finding the optimal preload condition for high speed spindle is very important factors in spindle motion. in spindle motion. In this study, the effect of the preload on the roundness accuracy has been examined at the different cutting conditions. Experiments were carried out to investigate the effects of the bearing preload on the running accuracy of high speed spindle which was supported by two angular contact bearings.

  • The rotation of a spindle unit must be accurate for high-quality machining and to improve the quality of the machine tools.Therefore, the proper measurement of the rotation accuracy and ensuring a proper analysis are very important. Separate processes are necessary because spindle errors and roundness errors associated with the test balls can both factor into the measured rotation error values. We used three methods to discern test ball errors and analyzed which could be deemed as the most proper technique in a test of the rotation accuracy of the main spindle of a machine tool.

  • This paper presents measurement processes of rotational accuracy and comparison of theoretical values in the main bearing of scroll compressor. The main bearing is a type of oil journal bearing, but it has an axial or helical groove. The generalized coordinate system method, which can handle this groove, is applied to calculate the pressure profile in the journal bearing. The orbits of journal shaft are calculated corresponding to the compressed gas forces and bearing reaction forces. Then, the orbits are measured using three-point method. The results are compared to that from analyses.

트랙터 트랜스미션용 후진 아이들 기어의 3D 프린팅 특성 (3D Printing Characteristics of Reverse Idle Gears for Tractor Transmissions)

  • This paper concerns the possibility of 3D printing reverse idle gears for tractor transmission. For the purposes of this experiment, idle gears were manufactured using a SLA 3D printer, FDM 3D printer, and through machining. The accuracy of the idle gears produced in these three different ways were evaluated by the properties of their outer diameter, inner diameter, roundness, concentricity, parallelism, span, backlash, and gear grade. The tooth characteristics of the idle gears were evaluated by their profile, lead, and the pitch of the gears. The results of this experiment determined that the surface conditions created by the finishing process had a significant impact on the dimensional accuracy of the gears and the characteristics of their teeth.

  • In this study, deformation of flange of pedestal crane due to Lug welding and lifting. Thermo elasto-plastic analysis was performed using commercial FE code MSC/MARC. The accuracy control of roundness is critical to the final product assembly. Deformation is mainly occurs during Lug welding. So, we determine welding sequence and Lug space in order to reduce deformation. And we also investigate safety of lifting Lug during crane lifting.

  • In order to satisfy the industrial requirements to measure the rotational error motion of main spindles and to find out the source of the error motion, some measuring systems were made. Their measuring principle are based on the 3-point roundness measurement. In these measuring systems, the measurements are processed by digital calculation technique and the form error and the rotational error motion of main spindles are spearated. In the present paper, the principle of 3-point metnod is introduced and some application examples are shown.

인코넬 육성용접에 의한 원형 문풀구조 선체블록의 열변형해석 (Thermal Distortion Analysis by Inconel Over-lay at Circular Moonpool Structures)

  • One of the main features of Drillship or FPSO is a moonpool structure. The moonpool structures have various accuracy tolerances according to their functions and targets. This study is mainly interested in roundness of a circular moonpool structure in FPSO. Because this structure needs abrasion-resistance at which bearing of machine touches on inner wall of moonpool, we should do over-lay welding widely and deeply by using Inconel weld material. But a general over-lay can cause a severe distortion at ship block structure. If we can analyze the roundness by thermal distortion under Inconel over-lay, we can establish a special erection policy by the results. In this study, we designed stress-strain curve for strain-boundary condition analysis by an elasto-plastic material property. The results made us to decide an appropriate ship-block size and policy of crane manipulation will follow for its capacity. If a structure that needs over-lay is not large, solid elements also are not a bad choice for FEM modeling. Therefore we also developed a standard of using strain-boundary method that shell elements are used as over-lay on solid element modeling.

  • Egg production in Korea is becoming automated with a large scale farm. Although many operations in egg production have been and cracks are regraded as a critical problem. A computer vision system was built to generate images of a single , stationary egg. This system includes a CCD camera, a frame grabber board, a personal computer (IBM PC AT 486) and an incandescent back lighting system. Image processing algorithms were developed to inspect egg shell and to sort eggs. Those values of both gray level and area of dark spots in the egg image were used as criteria to detect holes in egg and those values of both area and roundness of dark spots in the egg and those values of both area and roundness of dark spots in the egg image were used to detect cracks in egg. Fro a sample of 300 eggs. this system was able to correctly analyze an egg for the presence of a defect 97.5% of the time. The weights of eggs were found to be linear to both the projected area and the perimeter of eggs v ewed from above. Those two values were used as criteria to sort eggs. Accuracy in grading was found to be 96.7% as compared with results from weight by electronic scale.

치근단낭과 육아종의 디지털방사선학적 비교연구 (Comparison of Digital Radiometric Features between Radicular Cysts and Periapical Granulomas)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate whether a radiometric analysis of radicular cysts and periapical granulomas is useful in the differential diagnosis. In this experiment, twenty-nine periapical radiographs of the radicular cyst and those periapical granuloma were used. The periapical radiography was taken by intraoral paralleling device. The X-ray film was digitized and digitally filtered to reduce film-grain noise. We estimated density difference of the inner/outer area, roundness or circularity, bone profile or scan line of the margin and cumulative percentage frequency curve of radicular cyst & periapical granuloma. The obtained results were as follows; 1. The differences in density between ROIs of inner and outer area of radicular cysts were smaller than those of periapical granulomas. 2. The equivalent circular diameter was over 6.3mm, there was significant difference between periapical cyst and periapical granuloma. 3. In differential diagnosis of radicular cyst and periapical granuloma using bone profile. sensitivity. specificity and accuracy were considerably high(0.83. 0.86. 0.86) respectively. 4. Cumulative percentage frequency curve of the radicular cyst was closer to the pseudo-pixel value of 50 than average curve, whereas periapical granuloma was closer to that of 0. Hence we conclude that digital radiometric features might be useful in the differential diagnosis between radicular cyst and periapical granuloma.

내면연삭(內面硏削)의 가공능률향상(加工能率向上)에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Internal Grinding to Improving the Grinding Efficiency)

  • This paper describes on the establishment of an optimal internal grinding conditions for the purpose of improving the grinding efficiency against to the high-speed grinding. Through the fundamental grinding tests for the brittle and hardened material, we are concluded that high-speed internal grinding is effective to improve the grinding accuracy as well as the grinding efficiency. The obtained results are as follows: (1) Under the speed ratio $(V_w/V_g)$ is constant, it is possible to increase the grinding efficiency with satifying the constraint conditions. (2) Increasing the wheel velocity, surface roughness and out-roundness are improved. (3) Under the wheel depth of cut is constant and increasing the speed ratio, workpiece residual stress is decreased. The described method, in this paper, is capable of determining the optimum internal grinding conditions taking into account some constraint conditions, and practical algorithm for optimum internal grinding conditions are presented.
