박용엔진 크랭크 핀 베어링의 형상오차가 최소유막두께에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Roundness Error of a Crank Pin Bearing for a Marine Engine on the Minimum Film Thickness)

  • Bearings of marine engines are operated under severe conditions because of dynamic load and low sliding speed. This paper deals with lubrication analysis of a crank pin bearing for a marine diesel engine. Journal center locus and oil film thickness are compared of crank pin bearing. In the past researches, journal bearings have been studied only about the surface of bearing. In addition to this conventional research, this paper analyzes the effect of roundness error of a journal and a bearing on the minimum film thickness. Numerical analysis has been studied by using Reynolds equation and also Half-Sommerfeld condition is applied as boundary condition. Futhermore, this study investigates the effect of roundness error change on the minimum film thickness. The results demonstrate that the bigger amplitude of roundness error yields, the lower minimum oil film thickness is. In comparison to previous research considered a journal and a bearing individually, the results considering a journal and a bearing together show that amplitude of roundness error of journal has very little effect on the minimum oil film thickness.

  • In this paper, we suggest an algorithm for the automatic measurement of concentricity and roundness using image processing technique. From the experimental results, we could find that the required measurement accuracy specification is sufficiently satisfied using our proposed method.

다면드릴의 개발 및 성능평가에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Development of Multi Facet Drills and Evaluation of Performance)

  • Drilling operation is such an important machining process, which has been wildly applied to the industry, occupied over 30% of whole industry. However, there are many aspects of drilling process should be improved, such as increases of thrust force, surface roughness, and roundness, ect. In this study, we are aiming to reduce the thrust force, surface roughness, and roundness in drilling process. For this purpose, multi facet drills (MFD) of three types that are modified from standard drill (STD) are developed. The first type is multi stair drill (MSD) with shape of stair on relief plane. The second type is rough facet drill (RFD) with shape of round on relief plane. The third type is rough flute drill (RFLD) with shape of round on flute plane. For three types of MFD, we were carried out performance evaluation from the perspective of thrust force, surface roughness and roundness of machined hole. From obtained result, we could confirmed that performance of rough flute drill (RFLD) type is most excellent.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze how tools, guide bush type and the change of cutting speed have effects on the diameter of cutting hole, surface roughness of workpiece and roundness during the deep hole machining of SM55C with solid BTA drill by using BTA drilling system through experiment. Conclusion reached is as follows. (1) The diameter was expanded for 25${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ at the first section and then was reduced 0${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ and 15${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ respectively at the 10m and 20m section comparing to the diameter of tool with respect to the variation of cutting length. (2) It was proved that roughness was below 12S for the whole section of cutting length. (3) The roundness has been below 12${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$. Regarding the polygon phenomenon, it has bee proved that not only uneven number of angle but also even number (quadrilateral, elliptical) of angle were made. (4) Variation of diameter, surface roughness of workpiece and roundness turned out to ve the best at 70m/min of cutting speed, 0.15mm/rev of feed.

  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate the proposed jig for turning process of large-scale aluminum tube of D500mm through Finite Element Analysis (FEA). Also, a machining evaluation is conducted with general heat-treated and cryogenic heat-treated tubes. Dimensions of the specimens are determined to be suitable for collet appearance. The characteristics of equivalent stress and strain according to the expansion of the collet are evaluated by FEA. The aluminum tubes which are heat-treated by T4/T6 condition and cryogenic condition are machined by using a large-scale lathe machine and the roundness of machined tube is evaluated by using a 3D measuring machine. Through the results of this study, effects of each heat treatment and residual stress on the roundness are established.

리니어 모터를 이용한 척킹 컴플라이언스 보상 (Chucking Compliance Compensation by Using Linear Motor)

  • This paper introduces a compensating system for machining error, which is resulted from chucking with separated jaws. In machining the chucked cylindrical workpiece, the deterioration of machining accuracy, such as out-of-roundness is inevitable due to the variation of the radial compliance of the chuck workpiece system which is caused by the position of jaws with respect to the direction of the applied force. To compensate the chucking compliance induced error, firstly roundness profile of workpiece due to chucking compliance after machining needs to be predicted. Then using this predicted profile, the compensated tool feed trajectory can be generated. And by synchronizing the cutting tool feed system with workpiece rotation, the chucking compliance induced error can be compensated. To satisfy the condition that the cutting tool feed system must provide high speed and high position accuracy, brushless linear DC motor is used. In this study, firstly through the force-deflection experiment in workpiece chucked lathe, the variation of radial compliance of chuck workpiece system is obtained. Secondly using the mathematical equation and cutting experiment result, the predicted profile of workpiece and its compensation tool trajectory are generated. Thirdly the configuration of compensation system using linear motor is introduced, and to improve the system performance, PID controller is designed. Finally the tracking performance of system is examined by experiment. Through the real cutting experiment, roundness is significantly improved.

축차 2점법을 이용한 회전체의 진원도 프로파일 측정에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Measurement of Roundness Profile for Rotating Object Using Two Points in Succession Measuring Method)

  • 본 논문은 회전체의 진원도 및 흔들림 정밀도 측정에 관한 연구이다. 일반적으로 가공물 진원도 측정은 정밀한 회전테이블 또는 기준 원형 디스크를 필요로 하여, 고가의 비용이 소요된다. 축차2점법은 2개의 변위센서를 사용하여 직선가이드 등에서진직도 측정을 위하여 사용되었으며, 본 연구에서는 이 방법을 회전체에 적용하였다. 한 개의 디스크를 이용하여 측정된 회전체 변위 측정값에서 장치의 회전시 흔들림 오차를 제거하여 회전체의 순수한 진원도 프로파일을 측정하였다. 본 연구는 정밀한 기준 디스크 (Artifact)를 사용하지 않고 원형 가공물의 진원도 프로파일 측정에 유용할 것이다.

드릴의 선단각, 나선각 및 가공조건이 가공성에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Drill Helix Angle, Point angle, and Cutting Conditions on the Drilling Performance)

  • The optimal drill helix angle, point angle, and cutting conditions are recommended in the study so as to maximize the drilling performance by investigating the experimental reaults concerning with the state of chip formation, roundness of machined holes, and geometry of projected burr at hole exit, which are examined under the conditions of various helix angles, drill point angles of twist drill, cutting speeds, and feeds in operional parameters. In the easiness of chip escape, the helical type of chip is producted when a helix angle is 30$^{\circ}$, drill point angle 118$^{\circ}$, 140$^{\circ}$and feed is st between 0.1 and 0.15mm/rev. Roundness of machined hole is improved when the helix angle is 37$^{\circ}$, drill point angle is 118$^{\circ}$, and feed is 0.15mm/rev. The height of projected burr at the button of machined hole increases when the drill point angle and helix angle becomes large.

퍼멀로이 실딩캔의 강성증대를 위한 헤밍공정 설계 (Hemming Process Design of the Permalloy Shielding Can for the Stiffness)

  • In the recent day, shielding can was made of permalloy materials for automobile display instrument. The good roundness has an effect on magnetic property such as the low coercivity and the high permeability. But the products having the roundness is transformed by the heat treatment, the sending to the company and the assembly process. So for the stiffness of the edge, it is necessary for hemming process to be added in the deep drawing process. And it has the good appearance to create a smooth edge rather than a razor edge with urr. In this paper, it is controlled to get the best hemming product by the Pre-hemming angle($105^{\circ}$, $120^{\circ}$, $135^{\circ}$). And Possible process and tool design modification, which may lead to quality improvement in hemming were tested experimentally and using FEM. The commercial finite element program PAM-STAMPTM was used to simulate the pre-hemming process and hemming process, and the predictions were compared with experimental results according to the pre-hemming angle.
