  • In this paper, we first summarize key components of integrated services of telecommunication and broadcasting. Definitions and typology of th e integrated services are organized th rough comprehensive analysis of recent convergence trend of telecommunications and broadcasting. Various issues on regulations, society cultures, and technical aspects of the convergence are identified. Next, we deal with the digital media broadcasting service which is one of the technical culmination of the telecommunication and broadcasting merged services. The focus of the analysis has been made on policy implications and comparative details with other similar services in the same category. Finally, we suggest the perspectives on forthcoming digital media broadcasting service developments, and implications to cope with this emerging technological breakthrough.

유해가스 탐지·포집 로봇 (Hazardous Gas Detecting and Capturing Robot)

  • This study presents one man-portable, hazardous gas detecting and capturing robot. The robot can be fit in the trunk of a sedan car. Its weight is less than 20 kg. A dedicated gas intake mechanism is proposed for the robot. The robot can detect and capture gases at a height of 2 m above the ground, although the height of the robot is about 0.2 m. The performance of the gas intake mechanism is verified through computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis and experiments. Its gas detecting signals were acquired by serial communication and processed in Robot Operating System (ROS) based control software. The proposed robot can successfully move on rough terrains such as stairs, sand roads, and rock roads.

  • 본 논문에서는 컬러 모니터용 전자관(CDT; Color Display Tube)의 편향 요크(DY; Deflection Yoke)의 제조 공정상 오차가 발생시키는 컨버전스의 오차를 보정하기 위하여 붙이는 페라이트 박판(Ferrite Sheet)의 위치를 결정하는 규칙을 생성하는 박판을 붙여야 하는지 판단한다. 이를 러프 집합 이론을 이용하여 컨버전스 값을 조건부 속성으로, 페라이트 박판의 위치를 판단부 속성으로 하여 판단 테이블을 만들고 이때 발생하는 몇 가지 문제를 해결하여 최소화된 규칙을 찾아내는 방안을 제안한다.

  • Machine tools are widely used in mechanical manufacturing corporations, as well as in engineering courses at universities in Vietnam. The PINACHO S-90/200 lathe is particularly popular. This paper aims to research and select an optimal cutting depth to minimize power costs and ensure surface roughness quality when machining upper plain cylindrical turning products with the PINACHO S-90/200 lathe on C45 steel material.

Design of Mobility System for Ground Model of Planetary Exploration Rover

  • In recent years, a number of missions have been planned and conducted worldwide on the planets such as Mars, which involves the unmanned robotic exploration with the use of rover. The rover is an important system for unmanned planetary exploration, performing the locomotion and sample collection and analysis at the exploration target of the planetary surface designated by the operator. This study investigates the development of mobility system for the rover ground model necessary to the planetary surface exploration for the benefit of future planetary exploration mission in Korea. First, the requirements for the rover mobility system are summarized and a new mechanism is proposed for a stable performance on rough terrain which consists of the passive suspension system with 8 wheeled double 4-bar linkage (DFBL), followed by the performance evaluation for the mechanism of the mobility system based on the shape design and simulation. The proposed mobility system DFBL was compared with the Rocker-Bogie suspension system of US space agency National Aeronautics and Space Administration and 8 wheeled mobility system CRAB8 developed in Switzerland, using the simulation to demonstrate the superiority with respect to the stability of locomotion. On the basis of the simulation results, a general system configuration was proposed and designed for the rover manufacture.

  • We investigated the effects of a gate dielectric and its solvent on the characteristics of top-gated organic field-effect transistors (OFETs). Despite the rough top surface of the inkjet-printed active features, the charge transport in an OFET is still favorable, with no significant degradation in performance. Moreover, the characteristics of the OFETs showed a strong dependency on the gate dielectrics used and its orthogonal solvents. Poly(3-hexylthiophene) OFETs with a poly(methyl methacrylate) dielectric showed typical p-type OFET characteristics. The selection of gate dielectric and solvent is very important to achieve high-performance organic electronic circuits.

Design of Path Prediction Smart Street Lighting System on the Internet of Things

  • In this paper, we propose a system for controlling the brightness of street lights by predicting pedestrian paths, identifying the position of pedestrians with motion sensing sensors and obtaining motion vectors based on past walking directions, then predicting pedestrian paths through the route prediction smart street lighting system. In addition, by using motion vector data, the pre-treatment process using linear interpolation method and the fuzzy system and neural network system were designed in parallel structure to increase efficiency and the rough set was used to correct errors. It is expected that the system proposed in this paper will be effective in securing the safety of pedestrians and reducing light pollution and energy by predicting the path of pedestrians in the detection of movement of pedestrians and in conjunction with smart street lightings.

Reverse Engineering and 3D Printing of Turbine Housing for Tank Diesel Turbo Engine

  • The tank uses a twin turbo diesel engine equipped with two turbocharger systems for high output. The main component of the turbocharger system is the turbine housing through which the exhaust flows. Turbine housing is manufactured through a sand casting process, taking into account the shape and material characteristics according to the environmental conditions in which it is used. Currently, turbine housing is imported, and local production is necessary. In this study, basic research was conducted to localize the turbine housing of a tank diesel turbo engine. Reverse engineering and finite element analysis of the imported turbine housing were performed. The prototype of the turbine housing was printed using FDM and PBF 3D printers. The prototype of the turbine housing printed with an FDM 3D printer has an overall appearance similar to 3D modeling, but the printed surface of the whorl part is rough. The prototype printed with the PBF 3D printer is completely identical to the 3D modeling, including the whorl part.

러프집합과 정보이론을 이용한 대학생역량강화 진단 (Diagnosis by Rough Set and Information Theory in Reinforcing the Competencies of the Collegiate)

  • 본 논문은 대학생을 대상으로 학생들의 학업 및 취업경쟁력 강화에 필요한 핵심 역량의 도출과 진단에 관한 연구이다. 이러한 데이터의 처리에는 매우 많은 변수로 인한 차원의 증가로 인하여 계산상의 어려움이 수반되어지고 변수의 중복성과 중요도에 있어서 다양한 통계적 관계가 존재한다. 따라서 범주형 데이터의 분류에서 발생하는 애매함이나 불확실성을 처리하기 위하여 러프집합과 정보 엔트로피를 기반으로 불확실성의 척도를 정의하여 학생들의 유사행동을 분석하고, 기존의 통계적인 방법과의 비교우위를 위하여 속성간의 변별력을 비교하였다. 도출된 공통 핵심역량과 전공핵심역량을 이용하여 학생들이 가지고 있는 역량의 정성적인 보유수준과 부족한 역량을 파악할 수 있기 때문에, 대학생활지도와 취업진로지도의 보조자료로 활용이 가능할 뿐만 아니라 대학 적응을 높이고 취업 활성화에 부합될 수 있다고 사료된다.

상황인식 시스템에서의 서비스 결정 방법에 관한 연구 (A Study of Service Decision Method in Context Awareness System)

  • 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅 환경에서 상황 정보 추론에 필요한 상황 정보 표현은 육하원칙에 의해 분류되어 4W1H의 상황 정보와 추론된 Why의 상황을 통합하여 상위 상황들을 추론하였다. 본 논문에서는 추론된 상황 정보에 Whom(특정 정보나 서비스)과 How much(정확성)를 추가한 팔하원칙(6W2H)에 의해 특정 상황과 서비스를 분류하고 분류된 상황들과 부정확한 지식에 대한 표현과 추론을 위해 러프집합 개념을 도입하여 특정 상황에 적합한 서비스 결정 방법을 제안한다. 서비스 제공의 정확성을 표현할 때 0과 1이라는 일반집합으로 표현하는 것은 한계가 있기 때문에 이를 위해 퍼지집합의 개념을 도입하였다. 또한, 러프 집합 개념을 이용하여 상황 속성에 대한 리덕션(reduction) 과정을 통해 불필요한 속성들을 제거함으로서 각 사용자에게 가장 적합한 서비스를 신속하게 제공할 수 있도록 하는 것에 그 의의가 있다.
