상계해법에 의한 원형빌렛으로부터 타원 단면을 가진제품의 압출가공의 비틀림 해석 (An Upper Bound Analysis for the Twisting Phenomenon of Extrusion of Elliptical Shapes from Round Billet)

  • A kinematically admissible velocity field is developed for the analysis of twisting of extruded products. The twisting of extruded product is caused by the linearly increased rotational velocity from the center on the cross-section of the workpiece at the die exit. In the analysis, the rotational velocity in angular direction is assumed by the multiplication of radial distance and angular velocity. The angular velocity is zero at the die entrance and is increased linearly by axial distance from die entrance. The increase rate of angular velocity is determined by the minimization of plastic work. The results of the analysis show that the angular velocity of the extruded product increase with the die twisting angle and the aspect ratio of product and friction condition and reduction area and show that angular velocity increases with the decreases in die length.

  • In this study, screw machining system by use of a rotational tool such as an end-mill or a face cutter with Y axis off-set on a CNC turing center was developed for quick machining. In this system, It was possible to use different tools for different processes, and by off-setting the tool in Y direction by calculated amount it was possible to avoid tool interference problem which could occur within the central area at the end of a tool. In addition, machining a screw with a helix of up to 3 different leads combined and with tapered minor diameter was possible.

  • This study aims to derive frequency weighting curves for the estimation of driver's discomfort by steering wheel vibration in the vertical and rotational direction with respect to a steering column. Subjective tests for the determination of equal sensation curves, inverse of frequency weighting curves, for the two kinds of vibrations were performed using the sinusoidal signals with reference amplitudes from 0.2m/s$^2$ to 0.4 m/s$^2$ in the frequency range from 5㎐ to 100㎐. Twelve subjects joined at the tests, and median values of the twelve judgments were used to determine the frequency weighting curves. Second experiment was followed to determine relative magnitude between the two frequency weighting curves by direct comparison of discomfort due to the two kinds of vibrations at 50㎐, which showed discomfort by the rotational vibration was 1.5 times of that by the vertical vibration.

  • In this work, regular rotational gaits of the quadruped crawling robot required to change its moving direction without affecting be its orientation and its static stability margin are studied. The regular rotational gaits provide the quadruped crawling robot with omnidirectional characteristics. However, the ideal foothold region for each of legs of the quadruped crawling robot is assumed for simplicity. Nonetheless, it is expected that the results of this paper will provide the insight for both design of legs of the crawling robot with omnidirectional characteristics as well as its operation of the crawling robot system with specified stability margin.

영상처리 기법을 이용한 원통형 용기내의 회전유속의 측정 (Image Processing Technique for Rotational Velocity Measurements in a Circular Cylinder)

  • An experimental investigation has been made for flow in a circular cylinder with a rotating bottom disk. Flow system considered in this paper is a characteristic model of interior flows of an electric washing machine. Flows in a tub of an electric washing machine are driven by a rotating bottom disk called a pulsator. The simple and characteristic model was composed of a circular cylinder with impulsively rotating endwall disk and a viscous fluid in it. Rotational motion of the pulsator is periodic and alternative in rotation direction. The flow field in the interior region is governed by a horizontal boundary layer forms on the impulsively rotating disk. Experimental approach was accomplished by adopting an image processing technique for velocity measurements. Comprehensive details of the flow structure are presented. Also a meridional circulation is obtained by tracking image particles suspended in the fluid. Flow structure and data are successfully procured for this complex rotating flow field.

사교에 작용하는 지진하중의 영향 평가 (Evaluation of Seismic Force Effects on Skew Bridges)

  • This study is focused on evaluation of the structural behavior of skewed bridge during earthquake. The variation of natural frequencies and the lateral forces at pier shoes by the skewness and the rotational effect about vertical axis of skewed bridge due to seismic activity are analytically evaluated and identified through case studies. For this purpose, the composite steel girder highway bridges are selected as case study models. The seismic analyses by response spectrum method and time history method are performed for the selected models. It has been recognized that the frequency of longitudinal model increased as the skew angle decreased, while the lateral mode frequency showed the opposite trends. When the skew angle decreased, longitudina seismic forces of the bridge at the pier were increased but decreased in transverse direction. And it also has been found that the skewed bridges of the case study models showed the rotational behavior about vertical axis due to motion of San Fernando earthquake at Pacoima Dam.

균형 재활 훈련을 위한 특정 회전 움직임에서 피검자 동작 분석을 위한 깊이 센서 기반 키넥트 시스템의 정확성 및 부정확성 평가 (Evaluation of Accuracy and Inaccuracy of Depth Sensor based Kinect System for Motion Analysis in Specific Rotational Movement for Balance Rehabilitation Training)

  • The balance ability significantly decreased in the elderly because of deterioration of the neural musculature regulatory mechanisms. Several studies have investigated methods of improving balance ability using real-time systems, but it is limited by the expensive test equipment and specialized resources. Recently, Kinect system based on depth data has been applied to address these limitations. Little information about accuracy/inaccuracy of Kinect system is, however, available, particular in motion analysis for evaluation of effectiveness in rehabilitation training. Therefore, the aim of the current study was to evaluate accuracy/inaccuracy of Kinect system in specific rotational movement for balance rehabilitation training. Six healthy male adults with no musculoskeletal disorder were selected to participate in the experiment. Movements of the participants were induced by controlling the base plane of the balance training equipment in directions of AP (anterior-posterior), ML (medial-lateral), right and left diagonal direction. The dynamic motions of the subjects were measured using two Kinect depth sensor systems and a three-dimensional motion capture system with eight infrared cameras for comparative evaluation. The results of the error rate for hip and knee joint alteration of Kinect system comparison with infrared camera based motion capture system occurred smaller values in the ML direction (Hip joint: 10.9~57.3%, Knee joint: 26.0~74.8%). Therefore, the accuracy of Kinect system for measuring balance rehabilitation traning could improve by using adapted algorithm which is based on hip joint movement in medial-lateral direction.

ESPRIT 알고리듬을 이용한 안테나 배열의 상호결합 보상과 도래각 추정 (Mutual Coupling Compensation for an Antenna Array and Direction Of Arrival Estimation Using ESPRIT)

  • 이 논문에서는 비이상적인 안테나 배열을 보상하는 방법과 안테나 배열을 이용하여 계산량 관점에서 효율적으로 도래각을 추정하는 방법을 제시하였다. 도래각을 추정하기 위해서는 안테나 배열을 주로 이용한다. 배열을 이루는 각 안테나 소자에 수신되는 신호의 위상차를 이용하여 도래각을 추정한다. 그러나 실제 안테나 배열의 경우 각 안테나 사이의 상호결합 때문에 각 안테나로부터 방사되는 전파의 빔 패턴이 변형되고 이로 인해 도래각 추정 성능이 저하된다. 제안 방식에서는 먼저 상호결합의 영향을 동일하게 받는 안테나 배열의 일부분인 부분배열을 이용하여 도래각을 추정한다. 도래각을 추정하기 위해서는 계산량 관점에서 효율적인 ESPRIT(estimation of signal parameters via rotational invariance techniques)알고리듬을 적용한다. 그 다음 추정한 도래각을 바탕으로 상호결합을 보상하고 부분배열의 크기를 본래의 배열 크기로 확장시킨다. 모의실험 결과 제안한 방법은 재밍대잡음비가 비교적 작을 때에도 우수한 성능을 나타내었다.

콘형 가스버너의 난류유동장에 대한 슬릿과 스월베인의 역할 (The Role of Slits and Swirl Vanes on the Turbulent Flow Fields in Cone Type Gas Burner)

  • The gun-type gas burner adopted in this study is generally composed of some slits and swirl vanes. Therefore, this paper is studied to investigate the effect of slits and swirl vanes on the turbulent flow fields in the horizontal plane of gas swirl burner with a cone type baffle plate measured by using X-probe from hot-wire anemometer system. This experiment is carried out at flow rate $450\;{\ell}/min$, which is equivalent to the combustion air flow rate necessary for heat release 15,000 kcal/hr in gas furnace, in the test section of subsonic wind tunnel. When the burner has only swirl vanes, the axial mean velocity component shows the characteristic that spreads more remarkably toward radial direction than axial one, but when it has only slits, that is developed spreading more toward axial direction than radial one. Therefore, because the biggest speed is spurted in slits and it derive main flow toward axial direction encircling rotational flow that comes out from swirl vane that is situated on the inside of slits, both slits and swirl vanes composing of cone type gas burner act role that decreases the speed near slits and increases the flow speed in the central part of a burner. Moreover, because rotational flow by swirl vanes and fast jet flow by slits increase turbulent intensities effectively coexisting, the turbulent kinetic energy is distributed with a bigger size fairly near slits than burner models which have only slit or swirl vanes within X/R<0.6410.
