In the machine tool spindle, various tasks ranging from roughing to finishing must be possible, and the functions of constant speed movement or rotation positioning must be performed. Therefore, there are many variables to be considered in the spindle design. The Swiss Turn Type spindle automatic lathe is a good machine tool for working pins with thinner shafts than a fixed automatic lathe. The Swiss Turn Type spindle is mainly used for precision machining of small products, so the machining precision should be high. The maximum outer diameter limit shall be Ø32 and the inner diameter limit shall be Ø6. In this study, the static and dynamic characteristics of the SCM440 material used in the spindle type automatic lathe were analyzed by applying it to the Swiss turn type spindle automatic lathe. Numerical analysis was used to obtain optimal design technique with high speed and high accuracy considering the factors affecting the static and dynamic characteristics of the spindle.

Objectives: Buccal fracture of the mandibular proximal bone segment during bilateral sagittal split ramus osteotomy (SSRO) reduces the postoperative stability. The primary aim of this study is to evaluate the effect of this type of fracture on bone healing and postoperative stability after mandibular setback surgery. Materials and Methods: Ten patients who experienced buccal fracture during SSRO for mandibular setback movement were evaluated. We measured the amount of bone generation on a computed tomography scan, using an image analysis program, and compared the buccal fracture side to the opposite side in each patient. To investigate the effect on postoperative stability, we measured the postoperative relapse in lateral cephalograms, immediately following and six months after the surgery. The control group consisted of ten randomly-selected patients having a similar amount of set-back without buccal fracture. Results: Less bone generation was observed on the buccal fracture side compared with the opposite side (P<0.05). However, there was no significant difference in anterior-posterior postoperative relapse between the group with buccal fracture and the control group. The increased mandibular plane angle and anterior facial height after the surgery in the group with buccal fracture manifested as a postoperative clockwise rotation of the mandible. Conclusion: Bone generation was delayed compared to the opposite side. However, postoperative stability in the anterior-posterior direction could be maintained with rigid fixation.

In general, verticality error necessarily occurs in marine pile foundation due to construction error or marine environmental effects. In marine structure, design by vertical load rather than horizontal load is dominant, but in the offshore wind turbine foundation, horizontal load is dominant. As the structure type that has dynamic movement by blade rotation, verticality error may have structurally significant effects. In this study, structural response feature of foundation and ground were analyzed according to verticality error of monopile foundation of 5MW offshore wind turbine. Marine environmental load was calculated per ISO standard and the margin of verticality error was calculated to be $L/{\infty}$(=0), L/300, L/200 and L/100. As a result of analysis, it was found that the maximum value of member force of the foundation with L/100 error increased about 7.2% compared to the monopile without verticality error.

The "WuQinXi" exercise, one of the medical Qi-gongs, is an exercise maximizing human's self healing power and has been confirmed to be effective significantly at several modern researches. There are many exercise therapies in western medcine, such as Willams's flexion exercise, Mckenzie's extension exercise, vertebral stabilization exercise and so on. However, there isn't a special exercise therapy which can be applied for medical practice in oriental medicine. So we selected 24 motions which are related with lumbar movements from 3 type "WuQinXi" exercises ; 20 mode, 30 mode, and 40 mode. And then, we classified them according to lumbar movements as flexion, extention, lateral bending and rotation, and also functions as stabilization and rubbing. Next, with these classifications, we assorted them by kinds of lumbar spinal disease as HIVD(herniation of intervertebral disc), spinal stenosis, spondylolysis and spondylolisthesis, facet joint syndrome, compression fracture and spondylosis. We expect that "WuQinXi" exercise be a exercise therapy for lumbar spinal disease at an oriental medical clinic in this way. Oriental medical doctors will be able to teach easily patients "WuQinXi" exercise's motions at clinic, depending on kinds of lumbar spinal disease each patient suffers from. We plan to study the effect of "WuQinXi" exercise by comparing patients who do the "WuQinXi" exercise with the patients who do the western medical exercise therapy.

A large five-axis gantry-type machine performs cutting operations by moving the gantry, along with a bed. During operation, there are three sources of position (zig-zag) errors: 1) the position difference between two control motors on the X axis, 2) friction difference from the different column weights, and 3) torque of the rotating spindle. This study improved the performance of a gantry-type machine by analyzing these three error sources. We changed the mass of a column in the gantry structure and measured the effect on the friction result. We also studied the spindle torque influences on the movement performance of the gantry in relation to the spindle rotation.

In this paper, we propose an efficient on-line handwritten digit recognition base on Convex-Concave curves feature which is extracted by a chain code sequence using Smith-Waterman alignment algorithm. The time sequential signal from mouse movement on the writing pad is described as a sequence of consecutive points on the x-y plane. So, we can create data-set which are successive and time-sequential pixel position data by preprocessing. Data preprocessed is used for Convex-Concave curves feature extraction. This feature is scale-, translation-, and rotation-invariant. The extracted specific feature is fed to a Smith-Waterman alignment algorithm, which in turn classifies it as one of the nine digits. In comparison with backpropagation neural network, Smith-Waterman alignment has the more outstanding performance.
The aim of this study was to evaluate the musculo-skeletal symptomatic features of municipal sanitation workers and to compare differences of the musculo-skeletal symptoms by work types. We conducted descriptive cross-sectional survey concerning the musculo-skeletal symptomatic features of 315 street cleaners in Seoul and GyeongGi Province, Korea, during 2 weeks of September 2006. Questionnaires were consisted of general characteristics, occupational characteristics and musculo-skeletal symptoms. And we observed their works and evaluated their movement and posture by REBA. For work types, tools and subjective physical work loading, there were statistical difference whether or not NIOSH symptom positive on upper limb. Musculo-skeletal symptoms on upper limb were claimed from 43.2% of street cleaners, more than in 32.4% of cleaners. Musculo-skeletal symptoms on upper limb were reported higher in the group who felt their subjective physical work loading severe than in the otherwise group. The REBA results were over 'high risk stage' in street cleaners. Street cleaners had more repetitive motions than solid waste collectors on upper limbs. Works according to the criteria of musculoskeletal burdened work by the Ministry of Labor results were over 'high risk stage' of No. 2 and No. 4 in street cleaners. We found that street cleaners complained musculo-skeletal symptoms on upper limb more than solid waste collectors. This study suggests that it is necessary for street cleaners to carry out the prevention program of musculo-skeletal diseases. For street cleaner, the measure plans such as job rotation, automatic street sweepers, reducing work hours are helpful in preventing musculoskeletal symptoms on the upper limb.
In this research, we designed the head mouse system for disabled and gamers, a mouse controller which can be controlled by head movements and eye blinks only, and compared its performance with other regular mouse controller systems. The head mouse was moved by a gyro-sensor, which can measure an angular rotation of a head movement, and the eye blink was used as a clicking event of the mouse system. Accumulated errors caused by integral, which was a problem that previous head mouse system had, were removed periodically, and treated as dead zones in the non-linear relative point graph, and direct mouse point control was possible using its moving distance and acceleration calculation. We used the active light sources to minimize the influence of the ambient light changes, so that the head mouse was not affected by the change in external light source. In a comparison between the head mouse and the gazing tracking mouse (Quick Glance), the above method resulted about 21% higher score on the clicking event experiment called "20 clicks", about 25% higher on the dasher experiment, and about 37% higher on on-screen keyboard test respectively, which concludes that the proposed head mouse has better performance than the standard mouse system.
It would be of importance to determine the neutral Tone by a resultant axis of relation on relation to the mandible in understanding the biomechanics of the mandibular movement. In this study, the neutral zone at the habitual opening and closing mandibular movements is the shape of the paths described by a minimum moving point occured as an average center of the determined instantaneous centers of rotation. Twenty, aged $23{\sim}25$, male dental students without Temporomandibular disorders and with normal occlusion clinically were selected for the study. The habitual opening and closing mandibular movements were recorded by the Gnathorecouder and analyzed by the computer program of a planer rigid body model and the determined method of a minimum moving point. The results obtained from this study were as follows. 1. The minimum moving points were placed in the body of the mandible except two subjects. 2. The mean of maximum displacements of a minimum moving point was $0.62{\pm}0.08cm$ on X-axis and $0.73{\pm}0.16cm$ on y-axis. 3. The mean of maximum displacements of a minimum moving point was $3.39{\pm}0.62cm$ 4. The position and shape of the neutral zone were determined by the position, displacements, and moving distances of a minimum moving point.
