  • Arc sensor gives important groove information during welding. Automatic seam tracking control system with arc sensor has significant characteristics such that bead formation is given as decentralization of penetration and formation of concave bead profile and that a turning point of transverse weaving with constant arc length control is decided whether or not torch height reaches to a specified setting level. Furthermore, the rotating action of the arc prevents hanging of weld bead and forms flat bead surface under high speed welding condition. The variation of groove and deposition area can be detected from the trace of weaving. The area and width of weaving trace has close correlation with the area of groove and deposition.   • Automakers have been forcing their suppliers to guarantee qualities of parts. Then, the suppliers have met the fundamental quality requirements such as dimensions and functions, but they could not sufficiently satisfy the automakers' noise requirements yet because automatic noise inspection systems were little successfully adopted In mass-production lines. This study tried to develop a system for automatically checking noise radiated from a rotating engine part and filtering parts emitting noise higher than criteria: the upper limits of a overall noise level or a noise spectrum. A commercial noise measurement system was used for measuring noise, and then the noise data was transmitted to a governing program through OLE(object, linking and embedding) functions. The governing program, belonging to a total noise inspection system managed the noise measurement and analysis. This system was successfully adapted for distinguishing bad parts according to the noise criteria.

  • In this paper, we implement a Dashcam system capable of shooting 360 degrees using a Raspberry Pi, shock sensors, distance sensors, and rotating camera with a servo motor. If there is an object approaching the vehicle by the distance sensor, the camera rotates to take a video. In the event of an external shock, videos and images are stored in the server to analyze the cause of the vehicle's accident and prevent the user from forging or tampering with videos or images. We also implement functions that transmit the message with the location and the intensity of the impact when the accident occurs and send the vehicle information to an insurance authority with by linking the system with a smart device. It is advantage that the authority analyzes the transmitted message and provides the accident handling information giving the user's safety and convenience.

  • Stereo vision approach to solve the problem using a single camera three dimension precise distance measurement and object recognition method is proposed. Precise three dimensional information of objects can be obtained using single camera, a laser light and a rotating flat mirror. With a simple thresholding operation on the depth information, the segmentations of objects can be obtained. Comparing the signatures of object boundaries with database, objects can be recognized. Improving the simulation results for the object recognition by precise distance measurement are presented.

  • We propose a new method of X-ray backscatter imaging which is a significant development of the well known flying spot approach. Instead of sweeping the imaged object by pencil X-ray beam, and recording the amplitude of backscattered radiation in order to form the raster image, the object is irradiated with a fan beam of X-rays, forming a line on the imaging plane. By properly chosen motion of the collimating slit, a set of lines, which makes up a 2D sinogram of the original object, can be collected. The backscatter image can then be obtained using one of the tomographic reconstruction algorithms, such as the filtered backprojection, which is well known in computed tomography or nuclear medicine. The feasibility of the method has been demonstrated experimentally using a prototype scanner with an industrial X-ray source. The main advantage of our method is the essentially more efficient use of the available X-ray source beam, by illuminating the object with a substantially larger photon flux at each time point. As a result, the image can be obtained at much shorter acquisition time and/or at much lower source power.

  • We introduce a method of rendering a scene lying 3D objects which is like that artist draw on a canvas by brushing. Painting is the art area presenting something created by color and line on 2D plane. We are brushing on billboards on screen space for the 2D brushing effect according to the definition of "Painting". Brushing orientation is haven to rotate for preventing the orientation in the first scene in the case that object or camera are moving. If the brushing isn't rotated, shower-door effect is watched on the scene as undesirable result We present a brushing rotating method for keeping the orientation changing the direction of view and object rigid animation. The brushing direction is computed with Horn's 2D similarity transform by least-square solution. We watched the changing brushing to track the motion of object and view.

  • In this paper, we present the roundness profile and run-out error measurement for a rotating shaft. The devices for measuring the roundness require a precision rotation table which is used as a reference to obtain the circular profile. Therefore, the roundness measuring system is expensive and requires precision manufacturing. The two-point method for succession measurement has been used to obtain a linear profile or used in straightness measurement using two displacement measuring devices. In this paper, the method is used for measuring the circular profile of a rotating shaft. A method to remove the vibration of the shaft, i.e., the run-out, is used, and the original circular profile is obtained from the measured raw data that excludes the run-out error of the rotating shaft. This method will be useful for obtaining the precise circular profile without using a precision reference circular artifact.

A Spatial Stability of the Conductive Rod Conveyed by Double Electrodynamic Wheels (이중 동전기 휠에 의해 반송되는 도전성 환봉의 공간 안정성)

  • Putting a conductive rod between rotating axial electrodynamic wheels composed of repetitive permanent magnets, three-axial magnetic forces generate on the conductive rod. It is possible to levitate and transfer the rod on space with the forces. However, the forces vary in direction and magnitude for a position of the rod between the electrodynamic wheels. Thus, the position influences the stability of the rod also. To guarantee the stability of a levitated object, the force acting on the object should have negative stiffness like a spring. So, we analyze the stable operating range of the conductive rod levitated by the axial wheels with the commercial finite element tool in this paper. Specially, as the pole number and the radial width of permanent magnets has much influence on the generated force and thereby the stable region, their sensitivities are analyzed also. The analytic result is compared with experimental result.

Moving Object Tracking Method in Video Data Using Color Segmentation (칼라 분할 방식을 이용한 비디오 영상에서의 움직이는 물체의 검출과 추적)

  • Moving objects in video data are main elements for video analysis and retrieval. In this paper, we propose a new algorithm for tracking and segmenting moving objects in color image sequences that include complex camera motion such as zoom, pan and rotating. The Proposed algorithm is based on the Mean-shift color segmentation and stochastic region matching method. For segmenting moving objects, each sequence is divided into a set of similar color regions using Mean-shift color segmentation algorithm. Each segmented region is matched to the corresponding region in the subsequent frame. The motion vector of each matched region is then estimated and these motion vectors are summed to estimate global motion. Once motion vectors are estimated for all frame of video sequences, independently moving regions can be segmented by comparing their trajectories with that of global motion. Finally, segmented regions are merged into the independently moving object by comparing the similarities of trajectories, positions and emerging period. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm is capable of segmenting independently moving objects in the video sequences including complex camera motion.

  • In this paper we proposed a method of automatic point segmentation acquired by 2D laser scanner to recognize moving objects. Recently, Laser scanner is noticed as a new method in the field of close range 3D modeling. But the majority of the researches are pointed on precise 3D modeling of static objects using expensive 3D laser scanner. 2D laser scanner is relatively cheap and can obtain 2D coordinate information of moving object's surface or can be utilized as 3D laser scanner by rotating the system body. In these reasons, some researches are in progress, which are adopting 2D laser scanner to robot control systems or detection of objects moving along linear trajectory. In our study, we automatically segmented point data of 2D laser scanner thus we could recognize each of the object passing through a section.
