  • Generally the Shrouded type impeller is considered to free from the loss of tip leakage flow, but it is actually not possible to complete sealing between the rotating impeller and the sealing which is stay still. As a result, there is the possibility of flow leaking between impeller exit to entrance, especially with high pressure ratio compressor machine. The Cavity leakage flow is expected to influence negative effect on a machine performance and also inner flow structure. In this study, Impeller with shroud-casing gap leakage flow is simulated by numerical method (Using CFX 12.1). The influence of leakage flow on compressor performance and efficiency will be analysed, also detail flowfield change will posted.

  • In stator windings of a 6.6kV rotating machine, internal discharge, corona discharge, and surface discharge are mainly caused by internal voids and insulation degradation. In the case of the discharge spark and electromagnetic pulse generated from a discharge source, we can detect it using various RF resonators like an EM sensor. In order to detect these types of electromagnetic sources, we designed and fabricated a planar patch sensor using a CST-MWS simulation, and PD signals from artificial defected stator windings were also measured by the sensor proposed in this study. Furthermore, In the results of the experiment, it showed similar performance to the HFCT sensor.

  • As a rotating machine element, plastic gears are more and more widely used in such as industrial machine element, since plastic gear is lighter, higher wear-resistance, and higher vibration absorbing ability than metal gears. When operating plastic parts, tooth breakage and fatigue life shortened due to increasing number of applying load and tooth flank temperature rising, such that accuracy of plastic gears is divided from allowable range to cause vibration and noise. On this study, a internal plastic gears are developed which improved the filling balance molding process by a new injection mold structure. The new mold structure called HR3P(hot runner type 3plate mold). As the result from this studies, we obtained a very accurate roundness internal gears by using design of experiment.

  • A vibration in a high-speed machine may lead to machinery malfunction and even catastrophic failure. So solving the vibration problem is a fundamental requirement for the stability of the high-speed machine. The flywheel energy storage system using superconducting magnetic bearings is a device to store electrical energy as rotational kinetic energy by motor and to convert it to electrical by generator when necessary. The high-speed rotating flywheel has large amplitude at a critical speed. And it has an unstable behavior by the electric torque at the first stage of the energy generation. In this paper, the stability analysis is performed with an analytical model and equations of motion-which is considered the effect of the electric torque-to identify the stable driving condition and the dynamic behavior.

  • Wherever there are rotating equipment and contact between surface, there is wear and the generation of wear particles. The particles contained in the lubricating oil carry detailed and important information about the condition monitoring of the machine. This information may be deduced from particle shape, composition, size distribution, and concentration. Therefore, This paper was undertaken to Ferrography system of wear debris generated from lubricated moving machine surface. The lubricating wear test was performed under different experimental conditions using the Falex wear test of Pin and V-Block type by Ti(C, N) coated. It was shown from the test results that wear particle concentration (WPC) and wear severity Index( $I_{S}$), size distribution in normal and abnormal wear have come out all the higher value by increases sliding friction time. Wear shape is observed on the Ferrogram it was discovered a thin leaf wear debris as well as ball and plate type wear particles. This kind of large wear shape have an important effect not only metals damage, but also seizure phenomenon.

  • Various diagnostic techniques have been proposed according to the development of the engineering. and the machine elements. Specially. since the bearing is an essential component in rotating Machine. Many researchers have been done an earler detection and a exact diagnosis of defects on bearing. In this study, the technique which differ from past diagnosises techniques in frequency domain such as Spectral analysis is proposed. Parametric ARMA model was utilized to define the system using tire series directly. Based on the resulted ARMA parameters, more precies and faster diagnosis system through Neural network was presented.

  • Acoustic emission (AE) was originally developed for non-destructive testing of static structure, but over the year its application has been extended to health monitoring of rotating machines and bearings. It offers the advantage of earlier defect detection in comparison with monitoring bearing. This study was diagnosed low-speed machine which had a fault bearing for early detection by AE. And the artificial faults in a experimentation bearing was made for the bearing signals from difference speed and load were compared and analyzed by AE.

  • In the tandom pencil slat saw lines, feeding of cedar blocks is often stopped because excessive motor current is required in a saw machine. These events are called "kickoffs' in factory lines. Kickoffs decrease productivity due to machine down-time and damage to saw blades often accompanies them. Researches on saw behavior at kickoff are required to understand and reduce the frequency and severity of kickoff events. This research aims at understanding the fundamental mechanisms of kickoffs during cutting, predicting the impending kickoff and evolving design improvements for high cutting performance with fewer and less severe kickoffs.offs.

  • It is necessary to consider a rotor movement in dynamic analysis on the flux distribution of electric machinery by FEM. Therefore, if air-gap domain was subdivided into triangular elements, computation results contain errors due to variation of element shape in air-gap because the nodal points corresponding to the rotor are displaced in analyzing domain for the time difference. In order to reduce this errors, the paper presents a application of a Macro Air-gap Element that interpolation function is obtained analytically and a means to join it with linear triangular elements in the rotating machine or in the linear machine. At the end of paper, setting up analytic domain model, it compares analytic solution with the computation results of Macro Air-gap Element appliction and that of linear triangular element subdivision only to each cases of nodal displacement. And it carries out that errors due to variation of element shape are reduced effectively by application of a Macro air-gap element.

  • Based on the relative velocity method and the inverse kinematics theory, this paper presents an automated system for designing and manufacturing of an open type cylindrical cam with a rotating follower(OCRF). In the first part, this paper defines the relative velocity method for OCRF and calculates the contact point by using the coordinate transformation technique. In the second part, it generates NC Code of a CNC machine center for inverse kinematics by using the cutter location and the cutter orientation of OCRF. Finally, the automated CADICAM program developed in the paper shows an example on the desip and manufacture process of OCRF.
