In this study, novel structured thin ultrasonic rotary motor has been proposed. Ultrasonic motors are based on an elliptical motion on the surface of elastic body. ATILA ver. 5.2.4 was used for optimizing stator. The motor was fabricated by using designed stator. And characteristics of the motor were compared with simulated results. When the motor was fabricated with these results, 860[rpm] speed was obtain by input voltage of 16[Vrms] at 92.5[kHz].
A Linear Stepping Motor(LSM) can operate in an open loop control mode similarly to a rotary stepping motor. However, the LSM has a large transient vibration, and it sometimes causes the miss-step. In this paper, vibration suppression method using an energy stored in winding inductance and induced voltage of the LSM is proposed.
This study aims to evaluate the performance of an electric multi-purpose cultivator through a simulation analysis. The simulation model was developed using commercial software, Simulation X, by applying the specifications of certain parts, such as an electric motor, a battery, and so on. The input parameter of the simulation was the engine load data according to the rotary tillage level using a conventional multi-purpose cultivator. The data were collected by configuring a load measurement system, and the load cycle was developed by repeating the data collection process under the most severe conditions. The average output engine torque values of conventional multi-purpose cultivator were 10.7, 13.0, 9.4, and 11.2 Nm in the D1P1, D1P2, D2P1, and D2P2 conditions, respectively. As a result of the simulation, the maximum values of the motor torque, rotational speed, and power of the electric multi-purpose cultivator were 16.8 Nm, 2,033.3 rpm, and 3.3 kW, respectively, and the motor was driven in sections within 70, 68, and 45% of the maximum output range. The rate of decrease of the battery state of charge (SOC) level per minute was approximately 0.6%, and it was possible to supply electric power to the motor for 9,550 sec. In the future study, research to verify and improve simulation models of electric multi-purpose cultivators should be conducted.
In recent years, the LDM(Linear DC Motor) is widely used, because it has more merits than other rotary motors. First, if system requires linear motion, LDM realizes direct linear motion as rotary motor does not. Second, system is simple and easy to control, and so on. In optical disc drive, a tracking system consists of two parts. One is fine actuating and the other is coarse actuating. For coarse actuating VCM(Voice Coil Motor) actuator is used as a basic drive mechanism. In this paper, MC(Moving Coil) type LDM is designed, manufactured and controlled. System is composed of mechanical-electromagnetic component, therefore mechanical loss and electromagnetic loss exist. The dominent mechanical loss is friction which results from sliding between guide shaft and hole. Therefore, this paper shows the friction compensation control. High speed and accurate position is not gained only PID control, therefore other control method is applied to the system.
The high pressure side rotary compressor is investigated in this study. The temperatures at 29 points of main components and the refrigerant and the performance of the instrumented compressor are measured at various operating conditions. The complex heat transfer mechanism between the components, such s cylinder, suction pipe and stator of motor, is fairly clarified. It is also confirmed that the achievement of a high efficiency by reducing the heat transfer loss in the rotary compressor is possible.
For a single stage two cylinder rotary compressor, an analytical study has been made on the discharge gas pulsation. Discharge system of the twin rotary compressor consists of lower and upper mufflers and connecting passage holes between them, and cavities on both sides of the motor and passages between them. Acoustic modeling for the discharge system by transfer matrix method gives acoustic impedances at discharge valves so that gas pulsation at the valve sections can be obtained from discharge mass velocity. Since the mass velocity and the pressure pulsation at the valves are affected by each other, iteration should be made for convergence. Gas pulsations at other sections can also be calculated by using transfer matrix.
LAM (Laser-Assisted Machining) is an effective method for processing difficult-to-cut workpieces. The focal length of a LAM system is changed by the change of the workpiece shape during laser preheating; this problem is solved by changing the lens of the laser module. Linear- and rotary-type lens changers were developed to change the laser lens of a LAM system. The linear-type lens changer is operated by a motor with a ball-screw, and the rotary type is operated by a stepping motor. The natural frequency and structural stability of the laser lens changers were confirmed by using a finite element analysis; in addition, the functions of the lens changers were verified by measuring the iterative accuracy. The measured results show that the rotary-type lens changer is more accurate than the linear-type changer.
