유한 요소법에 의한 2자유도 스텝모터의 설계 (Design of Prototype Rotary-Lineat Step Motor by the Finite Element Method)

  • In this paper, a new type of step motor with two degree of mechanical freedom, which is named rotary-Linear Step Motor(RLSM), is presented. Its rotor axis can perform linear and rotary motions either separately or simultaneously. This paper discribes the design of RLSM using finite element method in which the magnetic saturation effect of the iron core is taken into account. The design parameters such as torques, forces and inductances are obtained from the computed magnetic vector potentials. A new type of Rotary-Linear Step Motor was constructed. The calculated parameters agree well with measurements.

  • A rotary compressors are used most widely In air-conditioning systems. Noise and vibration of a rotary compressor is an important problems during turning on and off as well as during operating. To estimate the vibration occurring during turning on and off, vibration analysis of a motor-compressor coupled system is required. In this paper, through modeling the motor and solving the forces from the equations of motion of the moving parts, the analysis of vibration of the compressor taking into consideration of the effects of motor and moving parts was performed. The accelerations of accumulator during turning on. turning off and operation are simulated. And simulated accelerations are compared with those of experimental data.

고토크 저속 직접 구동식 회전 모터의 열특성 분석 (The Experimental heat transfer Analysis of a High torque and low speed direct drive rotary motor)

  • The direct drive motor used in a precision motion rotate at about 1/10 speed and high torque comparing with general rotary motor. Excessive heating of the coils cause an exacerbating the heat problems and reducing the performance of motor. Because the rotation speed of the rotor and surrounding air is low, the motor can not be inefficiently cooled, the thermal analysis in the motor is very important. As the variations of rotation speed and torque, the temperature of several parts is measured and the features of the heat transfer is analyzed and improved.

히트파이프를 부착한 구동모터의 냉각성능에 관한 연구 (Investigation of Cooling Performance of the Driving Motor Utilizing Heat Pipe)

  • This research is to verify the cooling effect of the acting surface on the rotary motor using heat pipe and conventional cooling fan. In order to show the cooling performance of the rotary motor and heat pipe with the fin-typed heat sink, the surface temperature of the motor and condenser was measured in real time. The experiments were also conducted as for not only cooling device installed with heat pipe only, but with heat pipe and conventional cooling fan simultaneously. The present experiment reveals that the cooling combination of the heat pipe and cooling fan is far superior to the conventional cooling device for the driving motor such as the fin-typed heat sink. When the driving voltage of 20V and 14V were supplied to the driving motor, the cooling performance of the rotary motor with heat pipe was 170% and 500%, respectively better than that without heat pipe on steady state condition.

  • The oil circulation rate (OCR) of the rotary compressor is a crucial factor affecting the performance and reliability of air-conditioning systems. In this paper, topology optimization of the single-phase induction motor of rotary compressor is carried out for reducing the OCR. The nonlinear transient characteristic of single-phase induction motor for rotary compressor is analyzed by using FLUX2D. The topology optimization for electromagnetic systems is developed using the finite element method (FEM). The topology optimization is applied to a single-phase induction motor for reducing the OCR. For validation, optimize induction motors are manufactured and tested.

  • Recently, the study on bearingless motors which integrate both motor and magnetic bearing function in one stator is very active, as many machines have high rotational speed, high precision, smaller size and lighter weight. In this paper, we propose a novel rotary actuator including function of axial bearing using Lorentz force as a preceding research for development of a bearingless motor. As using Lorentz force, this type has some merits such as the linearity of control force, freedom from flux saturation and high efficiency unlike conventional rotary actuators using a reluctance force. This type is cotrolled independently in levitation and rotational directions respectively. It shows by mathematical expression of levitation force and torque in the proposed rotary actuator. And also, the levitation force is generated by magnetic interaction between the magnetic materials and the rotational torque is generated by Lorentz force. Finally. for verification of this proposed system, a prototype is made and some experiments will be performed in the near future.

  • In many application, LBLDCM is special-purpose devices in that, unlike their rotary counterparts, LBLDCM is tailored to specific needs. Whereas a rotary machine or a rotary motor interface with the mechanical systm through the shaft, a linear motor often interacts with the moving member(of the "rotor"), which is the mechanical system itself.   • The main noise source of the BLDC rotary compressor for air conditioner was analyzed by using the measurement of noise and vibration, noise contour, and experimental modal analysis. The source is presumed to the mechanical resonance excited by the electromagnetic attractive force of the BLDC motor. To reduce the excessive noise of the BLDC rotary compressor due to the mechanical resonance, air-gap was enlarged. Its validation was conducted by the analysis of the electromagnetic attractive force which is generated by the BLDC motor. By enlarging the length of air-gap, the noise in the compressor and air conditioner was significantly improved by 2.5dB(A) and 4.5dB(A), respectively.

Sensorless Control for a PM Synchronous Motor in a Single Piston Rotary Compressor

  • A sensorless control for an IPM (Interior Permanent Magnet) synchronous motor in a single piston rotary compressor is presented in this study. The rotor position is estimated from the d-axis and q-axis current errors between the real system and a motor model of the position estimator. The torque pulsation of the single piston rotary compressor is compensated to reduce speed ripples, as well as, mechanical noise and vibration. The proposed sensorless drive enables the compressor to operate at a lower speed which increases energy savings and reduces mechanical noise. It also gives high speed operations by a flux weakening control for rapid air-cooling and heating of the heat pump air-conditioners.

왕복운동 및 회전운동 근관성형용 전동모터 간의 진동 양상 비교 (Vibration characteristics of endodontic motors with different motion: reciprocation and conventional rotation)

  • Objectives: By introduced reciprocation motion file in dentistry, dentists benefit simple canal shaping procedure and time-saving. But, reciprocation motion generates uncomfortable vibration to doctors and patients. Because there was no study about this consideration, this study compared vibration pattern and power generated from reciprocation motion motor and conventional rotary motor. Materials & Methods: One conventional rotary motor; X-Smart (Dentsply Maillefer, Ballaigues, Switzerland); and two reciprocating motors; WaveOne Motor (Dentsply Maillefer, Ballaigues, Switzerland) and X-SMART PLUS (Dentsply Maillefer, Ballaigues, Switzerland); were used in this study. Triaxial $ICP^{(R)}$ Accelerometer (Model 356A12, PCB piezotronics, New York, USA) was attached on motor's handpiece head, and was measured tri-axial vibratory acceleration with NI Sound and Vibration Assistant 2009 software (National Instruments, Texas, USA). Mean vibratory acceleration and maximum vibratory acceleration was measured on fixed position and handed position. The results of vibratory acceleration were statistically analyzed using ANOVA and multiple comparisons are made using Turkey's test at p<0.05 level. Results: Reciprocating motors showed higher mean vibratory acceleration and maximum vibratory acceleration than conventional rotary motor (p<0.05). Between reciprocating motors, X-SMART PLUS had lower mean vibratory acceleration and maximum vibratory acceleration than WaveOne Motor (p<0.05). Conclusion: Reciprocating motors generate more vibration than conventional rotary motor. Further study about effect of vibration to dentist and patient is needed. And it seems to be necessary to make a standard about vibration level in endodontic motors.
