A study on the calibration of rotary table with NC machine (NC 공작기계의 Rotary Table 오차 측정 및 보상에 관한 연구)

  • 본 연구는 4축 또는 5축 NC 공작기계에 사용되는 Rotary Table의 오차를 측정하고 이를 보정하기 위한 연구이다. 먼저 일반적인 Rotary Table에 대한 오차모델이 설정되었으며, Rotary Table에서 존재하는 6가지의 오차를 각각 측정하였다. 측정방법은 3개의 길이오차는 1 개의 정밀볼(Master ball)과 3개의 LVDT, 3개의 각도 오차는 6각 폴리곤과 Autocollimator를 사용하여 측정하였다. 측정된 오차 성분들은 오차모델을 이용하여 보상치를 계산하였으며, 이 값은 추후 원래의 측정오차와 비교하는 방법으로 모델의 정확성을 검증할 것이다. NC 공작기계상에서 Rotary Table의 실제 보상 실험을 위하여 30$^{\circ}$간격으로 정밀한 볼이 장착된 볼-테이블을 설계하였다.

Development of Core Technologies of Multi-tasking Machine Tools for Machining Highly Precision Large Parts (고정밀 대형 부품가공용 복합가공기 원천기술 개발)

  • In this study, three types of large scale multi-tasking machine tools together with core technologies involved have been developed and introduced; a multi-tasking machine tool for large scale marine engine crankshafts, a multi-tasking vertical lathe for windmill parts, and a large scale 5-axis machine tool of gantry type. Several special purpose devices has been necessarily developed for the purpose of handling and machining big and heavy workpieces accurately, such as PTD (Pin Turning Device) with revolving ring spindle for machining eccentric crankshaft pins, hydrostatic rotary table and steady rest for supporting and resting heavy workpieces, and 2-axis automatic swiveling head for high-quality free surface machining. Core technologies have been also developed and adopted on their detail design stage; 1) structural design optimization with FEM structural analysis, 2) theoretical hydrostatic analysis for the PTD and rotary table bearings, 3) box-in-box type cross-rail and octagonal ram design to secure machine rigidity and accuracy, 4) constant spindle rpm control against gravitational torque due to unbalanced workpiece.

Developement of Measuring Units of Space Motion Accuracy in Machining Center (Machining Center의 공간정도 측정장치의 개발)

  • In recent years, it has been variously developed for testing the accuracy of circular motion of NC machine tools, for example Telescoping Ball Bar Method by Bryan, Circular test Method by Knapp and $r^{-{\theta} }$ Method by Tsutsumi etc., but these methods are all 2-dimentional measuring methods on plane. These simple methods of circular motion accuracy test of NC machine tools have been studied by many reserchers as above, but it is not yet settled in the code of measuring methods of motion errors of NC machine tools, because of errors of measuring units and sensors, and also especially the difficulties of centering of measuring units and the spindle of machining center. In this paper, in use of 2 rotary encoders and 1 magnetic type linear scale with resolution of 0.5 .mu. m, it has become possible for measuring of 3 dimentional space motion accuracy.

Mirror Surface ELID Grinding of Large Scale Diametral Silicon Wafer with Straight Type Wheel (스트레이트 숫돌에 의한 대직경 Si-wafer의 ELID 경면연삭)

  • Mirror surface finish of Si-wafers has been achieved by rotary in-feed machining with cup-type wheels in ELID grinding. But the diameter of the workpiece is limited with the diameter of the grinding wheel in the in-feed machining method. In this study, some grinding experiments by the rotary surface grinding machine with straight type wheels were conducted, by which the possible grinding area of the workpiece is independent of the diameter of the wheels. For the purpose of investigating the grinding characteristics of large scale diametral silicon wafer, grinding conditions such as rotation speed of grinding wheels and revolution of workpiece are varied, and grinding machine used in this experiment is rotary type surface grinding m/c equipped with an ELID unit. The surface ground using the SD8000 wheels showed that mirror like surface roughness can be attained near 2~6nm in Ra.

  • To protect the ozone layer depeletion the CFC (chlorofluorocarbon). HCFC(hydrochlorofluorocarbon) refrigerants will be replaced with HFCs (hydro-fluorocarbon) as an alternative refrigerant. In recent years a good deal of effort has been made to develop new compressors which are compatible to the new referigent. This paper focused on developing accelerated screening test for predicting tribological characteristics of the rotary compressor in atmosphere of R407C as an alternative refrigerant with polyolester lubricant. Falex wear test machine with high pressure chamber has been used to simulate friction and wear behavior of the common contact geometries found in rotary compressors.

  • The object of this study is in introduce CAD/CAM application technology for manufacturing rotary compressor side block. CAM systems consist of CAD(Solidworks), CAM(I-MASTER) software and CNC milling machine. CAM software is used to simulate the tool path and generate G-code for CNC programming.
