Recently, the roof garden of the large commercial facilities has been changed as a complex cultural space follow the users' diverse needs. It is focused on large commercial facilities on Seoul and Gyeonggi area but large commercial facilities of the province still has not been able to respond to the needs of users. Thus, the present condition of roof gardens was compared space components with physical environmental factors in Seoul, Gyeonggi and Daejeon, Chungcheong. Throughout the comparison, roof gardens in Daejeon and Chungcheong area were focused on finding ways to improve As a result, roof gardens in Seoul and Gyeonggi area were applied to a variety of factors in space components experience, learning, performance, exhibition and etc. It is composed to take place of various acts in the roof garden. On the other hand, roof gardens in Daejeon and Chungcheong were not applied a variety space components by comparing Seoul and Gyeonggi area. Physical environmental factors also were insufficient by comparing Seoul and Gyeonggi area the landscape, awning facilities, amenities for handicapped. As described above, space components and physical environmental factors in Daejeon and Chungcheong area roof gardens were insufficient. To perform the role of the roof garden changing as a complex cultural space and to confront to the users' needs space component such as learning, performance, exhibition should be considered during planning. And physical environmental factors supportable space components should be considered together.

The purpose of this study is to provide the method of saving the construction cost per unit area of the New Hanok using the inner space of a roof as a floor space with a structural modification of it's roof. The proportion of a roof of the Traditional Hanok accounts for about a half of it's elevation, so it is an essential element of it. But, compare to the whole construction cost of the Traditional Hanok, it costs over a half of expenses to build it. Recently, at the traditional building type, it is found that the inner space of a roof of it is used as a floor space with a structural modification of it's roof. It can be divided into two types, the storage type and the living type. The New Hanok at downtown can accommodate various new lifestyle, so the length of it's Yangtong is longer than that of the Traditional Hanok. When we adjust the proportion of the traditional Hanok to the New Hanok, the height of the column and the roof of the New Hanok becomes also higher than those of the traditional Hanok. So, using the upper part of the column and the roof of the New Hanok, we can make the inner space of a roof of the New Hanok as a floor space -like a bed room, tea room, personal work space and a storage- vertically connect with the 1st floor as the main living area. As a result, it is expected to save the unit construction cost of the New Hanok and has an extensity of space when we build the New Hanok at downtown.

We estimated the potential area roof greening in Gyeonggi-do that will mitigate the heat island effect. The estimation was based on building age, roof shape, and building use which were recorded in the building register from "Sewoomteo, the Building Administration System in the Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs. The estimated potential roof greening area in Gyeonggi-do was approximately $102.5km^2$ assuming that the buildings for residence, public, education(school), office, shopping mall are appropriate for roof greening. The area occupied by apartment buildings over six-story was 76.3% of the potential roof greening area 10.2% for individual houses, 5.9% for under five-story apartment buildings, and 3.7% for school buildings. The result indicated that it is residential buildings that we need to pay attention for roof greening, especially high-rise buildings over six-story. Greening of the whole estimated area, $102.5km^2$, in Gyeonggi-do will result in the increase of green space per capita by $8.74m^2$. This is 1.65 times greater than the area of current urban parks, and 1.97 times greater than the total area of neighborhood parks, children's parks, and pocket parks. Greening of the estimated roof area will increase green coverage of urban area by twice, adding to current green coverage of the urban areas, 11.3%, in 10 major cities. In particular, the effect of roof greening would be remarkable in inceasing the green space of Anyang City, Gwangmyeong City, and Guri City where neighborhood park area falls short.
In underground retreating longwall coal mining, hard roof collapse is one of the most challenging safety problems for mined-out areas. Identifying precursors for hard roof collapse is of great importance for the development of warning systems related to collapse geohazards and ground control. In this case study, the Xinhe mine was chosen because it is a standard mine and the minable coal seam usually lies beneath hard strata. Real-time monitoring of hard roof collapse was performed in longwall face 5301 of the Xinhe mine using support resistance and microseismic (MS) monitoring; five hard roof collapse cases were identified. To reveal the characteristics of MS activity during hard roof collapse development and to identify its precursors, the change in MS parameters, such as MS event rate, energy release, bursting strain energy, b value and the relationships with hard roof collapse, were studied. This research indicates that some MS parameters showed irregularity before hard roof collapse. For the Xinhe coalmine, a substantial decrease in b value and a rapid increase in MS event rate were reliable hard roof collapse precursors. It is suggested that the b value has the highest predictive sensitivity, and the MS event rate has the second highest.
The joint probability distribution of uncertain geomechanical parameters of geotechnical strata is a crucial aspect in constructing the reliability functional function for roof structures. However, due to the limited number of on-site exploration and test data samples, it is challenging to conduct a scientifically reliable analysis of roof geotechnical strata. This study proposes a Copula method based on small sample exploration and test data to construct the intensity characteristics of roof geotechnical strata. Firstly, the theory of multidimensional copula is systematically introduced, especially the construction of four-dimensional Gaussian copula. Secondly, data from measurements of 176 groups of geomechanical parameters of roof geotechnical strata in 31 coal mines in China are collected. The goodness of fit and simulation error of the four-dimensional Gaussian Copula constructed using the Pearson method, Kendall method, and Spearman methods are analyzed. Finally, the fitting effects of positive and negative correlation coefficients under different copula functions are discussed respectively. The results demonstrate that the established multidimensional Gaussian Copula joint distribution model can scientifically represent the uncertainty of geomechanical parameters in roof geotechnical strata. It provides an important theoretical basis for the study of reliability functional functions for roof structures. Different construction methods for multidimensional Gaussian Copula yield varying simulation effects. The Kendall method exhibits the best fit in constructing correlations of geotechnical parameters. For the bivariate Copula fitting ability of uncertain parameters in roof geotechnical strata, when the correlation is strong, Gaussian Copula demonstrates the best fit, and other Copula functions also show remarkable fitting ability in the region of fixed correlation parameters. The research results can offer valuable reference for the stability analysis of roof geotechnical engineering.
This study deals with the contemporary rural housing with special reference to the roof types/materials and the outer wall materials in Ulleungdo Mountains. The most frequent roof type of rural housing is the hip-and-gable roof type(42.1%); and the next, the gable roof type(25.8%). For the roof materials, the precoated steel plate(69.1%), the asphalt shingle(11.8%), and the cement(10.7%) are the most frequent but the roofing tile and the artificial slate are not used. And for the outer wall materials, the cement(27.5%), the siding(21.3%), the corrugated galvanized iron(16.8%), and the lumber sheet(6.7%) are the most frequent. It is the hip-and-gable roof housing type with the precoated steel plate(roof materials)(41%), or the hip-and-gable roof housing type with the precoated steel plate(roof materials) and the cement(outer wall material) (18.0%) that is the most frequent type of rural housing in Ulleungdo Mountains. For the roof/wall materials, the ratio of the corrugated galvanized iron is high probably due to the relatively low cost of transport, and the ratio of the roofing tile, the artificial slate, the red brick, and the building stone is very low probably due to the relatively high cost of transport.

Construction of roof structure, cable suspended structure, for Pusan main stadium is adapted a lifting method that is VSL lifting system. 5 processes are practiced for erection of the roof structure including the first lifting process for erection of upper cables and the second lifting process for erection of lower cables. Since all cables of this roof structure with two open spelter sockets are determined their length, some cable were wrong length, he roof structure would be unstable. But, At complete of erection for the roof structure each cable is attained to theoretical tension force with average 4% errors.
The reduction of booming noise level and improvement of sound quality in the vehicle interior have been major fields of vehicle NVH for many years. In order to reduce the booming noise this paper proposed a system variable, which takes account of mode shapes and natural frequencies of the structural-acoustic system, measurement points and excitation frequency. By simplifying the system variable, the major contributors of panels inculding roof, roof lining, wind shield glasses, doors and floor to booming noise at a specific frequency was experimentally found. Also the relationships between structural modes of roof lining, one of the major contributors, and acoustic modes of compartment cavity were investigated from the viewpoint fo structure-borne noise. In addition, the roof lining was modified structurally by applying marble sponge to the gap between roof and roof lining. Asthe result of structural modification, the booming noise was reduce at target frequency.
Purpose: Various studies on the soil-based green roof systems have been conducted, and a lot of green roof systems were developed. A growing medium board is one of them which was developed for better application and maintenance, however the effect and performance of this material need to be verified. On this background, the purpose of this study is to prove cooling load reduction of green roof by monitoring experiment on the full-scale mock-ups. Method: To do this, Solid growing medium boards were installed on the mock-ups, and indoor temperature and humidity were monitored and analyzed. Result: As a results, the green roof with solid growing medium board were verified effective for controlling indoor temperature in summer.
