편타성 상해로 인한 후인두혈종 1례 (A case of retropharyngeal hematoma induced by whiplash injury)

  • Whiplash injury commonly seen in automobile accident. This type of acceleration-deceleration injury may rarely lead to unfavorable outcomes as in the case of retropharyngeal hematoma. Because this lesion has the possibility of compressing the potential airway acutely or gradually, not only the rapid assessment and treatment but also closed observation are needed. We report a case of a 20-year-old man, who sustained a whiplash injury from contact with the headrest of his seat after his car was involved in a rollover. He had no symptom except posterior neck pain initially, but complained odynophagia and acute dyspnea after 10 hours of admission. The diagnostic work-up comprising lateral radiograph, CT imaging disclosed the rare constellation of a retropharyngeal hematoma with cervical spine fractures. Medical treatment and close observation were sufficient for the patient because he had no progressive dyspnea or major dysphagia.

횡방향 가속도 및 요 속도를 이용한 차량의 롤 각 추정기 설계 (Using Lateral Acceleration and Yaw Rate, Sliding Observer Design for Roll Angle)

  • This paper presents roll angle estimator which used Kalman filter. Recently, the uses of the ELSD (Electronic Limited Slip Differential) and TVD(Torque Vectoring Differential) for vehicle yaw control are studied in many researches. However the roll angle can be negative effect of ELSD and TVD control. Therefore the information of roll angle can be used for vehicle yaw control. Moreover it can be used for rollover prevent control. Recently, most of the vehicles use lateral acceleration and yaw rate sensor. In this paper, design of Kalman filter which used lateral acceleration and yaw rate information is developed. In this paper, in order to verify the estimator ability, the CarSim and Matlab/Simulink are used.

미세 홀 펀칭시 전단 파괴 거동 연구 (A Study on Fracture Behavior in Shear Band during Micro Hole Punching Process)

  • In the micro hole punching, the size and shape of burr and burnish zone are very important factors to evaluate quality of micro holes which depend on punch-die clearance, stain rate, workpiece material and etc. To get micro holes with small burr and wide burnish zone for industrial demands, not only the parametric study but also a study on fracture behavior in shear band are necessary. In this study, 100 $\mu\textrm{m}$, 25 $\mu\textrm{m}$ micro holes in diameter were fabricated on brass (Cu63/Zn37) and SUS 316 foils as aspect ratio 1:1, and the characteristics of micro holes was investigated comparing with man holes over several mm by scanning electron microscopic views and section views. Like macro hole, micro hole is also composed of 4 portions, rollover, burnish zone, fracture zone and it shows similar fracture behavior in shear band, but? by high strain rate (10$^2$∼ 10$^3$s$\^$-1/) unlike macro hole fabrication and increment of relative grain size several different results are shown.

열린 단면 부재의 굽힘 붕괴 실험 및 해석에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Bending Collapse at the Open Cross-Section Members with Experiment and Analysis)

  • The open section members have been used as the members of vehicle such as automotives, airplanes and trains. When vehicles are crashed, these members have absorption of the energy and it is necessary for retainment of the survival space, and as the result, the prediction for the displacement of members in this case of the crash of vehicles is very important. The displacements of members in this case of the crash of automotives show combined aspect of both axial collapse and bending collapse. In the rollover accident when bending collapse happen, the collapse of each members is progressed by the plastic hinge which made from bending moment, and therefore the research for the behavior of members under bending moment after collapse is necessary to determine the internal energy which the members can absorb and the deformed shapes of the members on the step of design. In this paper, the characteristics of bending collapse at the members of the open cross-section were studied with experiment and numerical analysis. We made a comparative studied of the result of the experiment, and changed the axis according to the parallel-axis theorem.

대학 웹진의 사용자 인터페이스 디자인 조사 (A Survey on User Interface Design of University Webzines)

  • 이 논문은 대학 웹진 현황을 토대로 웹진의 목적과 어떤 기능을 담당하는지 사용자 인터페이스 디자인 측면에서 다루고자 한다. 이를 위해 웹진의 내용적 측면과 사용자 중심의 콘텐츠 구성과 컬러 및 내비게이션 디자인 측면에서 조사해 보았다. 조사를 통해, 향후 효과적인 대학 웹진 제작을 위해 사용자와 제작자가 어떤 점에 유의하고 참고하여 디자인해야하는지 알아보고자 하였다. 웹진 제작자와 사용자의 상호 적극적인 커뮤니케이션을 활성화하고 공감하기 위해 웹진이 주요한 기능을 하고 있는지 조사를 통해 알 수 있었으며, 웹진의 이런 특성을 살려 제작한 대학들은 사용자 인터페이스 디자인 측면에서도 우수함을 알 수 있었다.

소방 고가사다리차의 설계 변수에 따른 안정성 평가를 위한 구조해석 연구 (A Study on Structural Analysis for Stability Evaluation According to Design Parameters of a Fire Ladder Vehicle)

  • In this study, a stability analysis was conducted through finite element analysis (FEA) of a simplified model of a fire ladder truck by changing the ascending angle, turning angle, and boundary conditions between the outrigger and the ground. The results of the analysis showed that decreasing the angle of the ladder car increases the moment due to the ladder weight, decreasing the safety factor despite being under the same load conditions. In the case of a rotating radius, the stability was found to vary depending on the boundary conditions. A comparative analysis in the future with these results and the experimental values from the actual fire ladder truck may determine the most appropriate boundary conditions based on the analysis program. It is expected to predict the risk of damage and rollover by assessing the stability of aerial ladder vehicles under different conditions.

횡방향 틸팅 기능을 갖는 이륜 밸런싱 모바일 플랫폼 설계 (Design of a Two-wheeled Balancing Mobile Platform with Tilting Motion)

  • Conventional two-wheeled balancing robots are limited in terms of turning speed because they lack the lateral motion to compensate for the centrifugal force needed to stop rollover. In order to improve lateral stability, this paper suggests a two-wheeled balancing mobile platform equipped with a tilting mechanism to generate roll motions. In terms of static force analysis, it is shown that the two-body sliding type tilting method is more suitable for small-size mobile robots than the single-body type. For the mathematical modeling, the tilting-balancing platform is assumed as a 3D inverted pendulum and the four-degrees-of-freedom equation of motion is derived. In the velocity/posture control loop, the desired tilting angle is naturally determined according to the changes of forward velocity and steering yaw rate. The efficiency of the developed tilting type balancing mobile platform is validated through experimental results.

소형어선을 위한 VDR 시스템에 관한 연구 (A Study on VDR System for a Small Fishing Vessel)

  • 어선에 의한 해양사고의 가장 큰 문제점은 경계소홀로 충돌, 접촉, 좌초, 전복, 및 침몰 등의 사고가 발행한다. 또한 사고가 발생하더라도 목격자가 없거나, 있다고 하더라도 사고 당시의 상황으로 인한 혼란으로 정확한 증거로써 활용되기 어려워 대부분의 사고 원인이 밝혀지는데 어려움이 많다. 사고가 발생한 후에 정확한 사고 규명을 위해서는 운항 기록을 기록하는 VDR(: Voyage Data Recorder) 시스템을 설치하여 하나 가격이 비싸고 어선에 적합하지 않아 잘 이용되지 않고 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 어선에 적합한 운항 영상 보관을 위한 VDR 시스템을 설계 및 개발하였다. 이를 활용하는 경우, 어선에 의한 해양사고가 발생하더라도 신속하게 사고 규명이 가능하고, 사고 원인에 따른 적절한 조치를 취할 수 있기 때문에 해양사고 예방에도 많은 도움이 될 것으로 예상된다.

북미 법규 강화를 고려한 국내 자동차의 천정강도 시험특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Characteristics of Domestic Vehicle on the Roof Crush Test Considering the Enhanced Safety Standard, FMVSS 216)

  • In order to reduce the risk of roll over crash, one of the greatest risk events, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration(NHTSA) issued Notice of Proposed Rulemaking(NPRM) enhancing the safety standard on roof crush resistance, FMVSS No. 216 and changing some part of the test procedure. According to this NPRM, the boundary Gross Vehicle Weight Rating(GVWR) of the vehicles applied by this standard is extended from 2,722kg(6000 lb) to 4,536 kg(10000 lb) and the applied test force is increased from 1.5 times to 2.5 times of Unloaded Vehicle Weight (UVW). Also the current limit on the amount of roof crush, 127mm(5 inch), is replaced with a new requirement of maintaining enough headroom without touching the head of a seated 50% male dummy. In this paper, we carried out the rollover crash test on some domestic cars and investigated their safety due to the KMVSS No. 92 and the enhanced safety standard, FMVSS No. 216, respectively. The result shows that most of them can satisfy the new standards but further tests will be necessary, especially for heavier cars.
