Post-treatment로 APP를 이용하여 $250^{\circ}C$ 이하에서 소자에 적용 가능한 on/off ratio를 얻을 수 있었다.
In order to further reduce the cost without reducing the corrosion resistance, a high-manganese austenitic alloy for sink roll or stabilizer roll in continuous hot-dip coating lines was developed. A systematic study of corrosion behavior of the high-manganese austenitic alloy in pure zinc bath at $490^{\circ}C$ was carried out. The results shows that, the high-manganese austenitic alloy shows better corrosion resistance than 316L steel. The corrosion rate of the high-manganese austenitic alloy in pure zinc bath is calculated to be approximately $6.42{\times}10^{-4}g{\cdot}cm^{-2}{\cdot}h^{-1}$, while the 316L is $1.54{\times}10^{-3}g{\cdot}cm^{-2}{\cdot}h^{-1}$. The high-manganese austenitic alloy forms a three-phase intermetallic compound layer morphology containing ${\Gamma$}, ${\delta}$ and ${\zeta}$ phases, while the 316L is almost ${\zeta}$ phase. The ${\Gamma}$ and ${\delta}$ phases of the high-manganese austenitic alloy contain about 8.5 wt% Cr, the existence of Cr improve the stabilization of phases, which slow down the reaction of Fe and Zn, improve the corrosion resistance of the high-manganese austenitic alloy. So substitute the nickel with the manganese to manufacture the high-manganese austenitic alloy of low cost is feasible.
The matrices which consisted of SiC whisker, PES(polyesterasulfone) as a binder, span 80(sorbitan monooleate) as a surfactant, TPP(triphenyl phosphate) as a plasticizer and dichloromethane as a solvent, have been prepared by the various methods such as tape casting, rolling, tape cast-coating and roll-coating method. The fuel cells of single stack type using these matrices are characterized by ac impedance spectroscopy and cyclic voltammetry technique. A fuel cell using a matrix prepared by the tape cast-coating method shows the best performance of 466.34 mA/$\textrm{cm}^2$ at 0.6V because it has the lowest polarization resistance at the interface between electrodes and a matrix due to the largest three phase contact region of gases, catalyst and electrolyte.

Indium tin oxide, which is used as transparent conducting layer in flexible device, is deposited on PET film by a magnetron sputtering in 300 mm wide roll-to-roll process (vacuum web coating). Sheet resistance, specific resistance and transmittance is differed by sputtering parameters such as working pressures, oxygen partial pressure, and thickness of ITO layer. ITO layer is deposited about 90 nm at roll speed of 0.24 m/min and its sputtering power is 3 kW. From the XRD spectrum deposited ITO layer is verified as amorphous. Under working pressure varied from $3{\times}10^{-4}\;Torr$ to $2{\times}10^{-3}\;Torr$, sheet resistance is lowest at the working pressure of $1{\times}10^{-3}\;Torr$ and its value is from $110\;{\Omega}/{\square}$ to $260\;{\Omega}/{\square}$ at the thickness of 90 nm. Oxygen partial pressure also varies sheet resistance and is optimized at the regime from 0.2% ($1.8{\times}10^{-6}\;Torr$) to 0.6% ($6{\times}10^{-6}\;Torr$). In this oxygen partial pressure sheet resistance is lower than $150\;{\Omega}/{\square}$. As ITO layer thickness increases, sheet resistance decreases down to $21\;{\Omega}/{\square}$ and specific resistance is about $7.5{\times}10.4{\Omega}cm$ in 340 nm thickness ITO layer. Transmittance is measured at the wavelength of 550 nm and is about 90% for 180 nm thickness ITO/PET.

Laser direct patterning of the coated photoresist (PMER-NSG31B) layer was studied to make halftone dots on gravure printing roll. The selective laser hardening of photoresist by Ar-ion laser(wavelength: 333.6~363.8nm) was controlled by the A/O modulator. The coating thickness in the range of 5~11$\mu m$ could be obtained by using the up-down directional moving device along the vertically located roll. The width, thickness and hardness of the hardened lines formed under the laser power of 200~260㎽ and irradiation time of 4.4~6.6 $\mu$sec/point were investigated after developing. The hardened width increased as the coating thickness increased. Though the hardened thickness was changed due to the effect of the developing solution, the hardened layer showed good resistance to the scratching of 2H pencil. Also, the hardened minimum line widths of 10$\mu m$ could be obtained. The change of line width was also found after etching, and the minimum line widths of 6$\mu m$ could be obtained. The hardened lines showed the good resistance to the etching solution. Finally, the experimental data could be applied to make gravure halftone dots using the developed imaging process, successfully.
The intention of this study is to investigate the properties of polymer blend, NBR/PVC vulcanizates and blending procedures such as roll-mixing temperatures and sequences for polymer blending of NBR and PVC(resin type). The results obtained are as follows: 1. The roll temperature applied for polymer blending is around $150^{\circ}C$. At this temperature region, the degradation of rubber stock, which may be caused by heat, can be minimized and mill processing in practical application in industries can also be facilitated. 2. It is obviously necessary that a small amount of plasticizers should be added to the stock for improving processibility of roll mixing and physical properties. 3. On roll-mixing sequence, it is more effective that PVC compounded with plasticizer is added to NBR milled on hot roll. 4. The vulcanizates of the blends with different degree of polymerization of PVC ale similar to one another in properties. 5. NBR/PVC(70/30) blends shows the better physical characters than eve,-made foreign latex blend except abrasion-resistance. 6. As PVC addition ratio is increased, the physical properties such as resistance to ozone, tear, heat and oil and tensile strength, modulus, hardness have also improved, on the other hand, tension set and rebound character decreased. 7. The curve of ultimate elongation have point of inflection at the ratio of $30\sim40$ part of PVC. 8. While CR is blended, the physical properties such as brittle point, rebound and resistance to oil in high temperature have improved. 9. Polymer blend of NBR and domestic PVC is applied for the industrial utility such as rubber sole and heel, electric wire cover and oil-resistant packing, coating and gasket, printing roll, film for food packing etc.

The electronic industries require environmentally-friendly and highly functional materials to enhance the quality of human life. Home appliances require insect repellent steels that work to protect household microwave ovens from incurring damage by insects such as fire ants and cockroaches in tropical regions. Thus, POSCO has developed new types of functional steels, coated with an array of organic-inorganic hybrid composites on the steel surface, to cover panels in microwave ovens and refrigerators. The composite solution uses a fine dispersion of hybrid solution with polymeric resin, inorganic and a pyrethroid additive in aqueous media. The hybrid composite solution coats the steel surface, by using a roll coater and is cured using an induction curing furnace on both the continuous galvanizing line and the electro-galvanizing line. The new steels were evaluated for quality performances, salt spray test for corrosion resistance and biological performance for both insect repellent and antimicrobial activity. The new steels with organic-inorganic composite coating exhibit extraordinarily biological functionalities, for both insect repellent and antimicrobial activities for short and long term tests. The composite-coating solution and experimental results are discussed and suggest that the molecular level dispersion of insecticide on the coating layer is key to biological functional performances.

As competition among global automakers intensifies, demand for materials that are better in price and performance is increasing. While steel and plastic materials compete for automotive fuel tanks, plastic materials have advantages such as light weight for automobiles. However, they have high prices. Accordingly, in this paper, four types of Zn-X plated steel sheets, electroplating (X = none, Sn) and galvannealed (X = Fe, Fe-Mg), were manufactured and their applicability as a fuel tank material was evaluated. Nano-composite coating solution with good conductivity was treated on the surface of plated steels using a roll coater and then cured through induction furnace to improve corrosion resistance. Quality characteristics such as corrosion resistance, fuel resistance to diverse gasoline and diesel fuels, and seam weldability were evaluated for the above plated steels. Their properties were compared and analyzed with conventional Zn-Ni electroplating steels. Among the above plated steels, Zn-Fe-Mg galvannealed steels coated with nano-composite coating exhibited better properties than other steels. Detailed experimental results suggest that evenly distributed Mg elements on the coating layer play a key role in the enhanced quality performance.

This study was performed to identify the effect of calendering variables on the properties of coated paper such as sheet gloss, surface roughness, opacity, etc. The effect of calendering variables including the number of nips, pressure, machine speed and moisture content on the properties of coated paper was investigated. The calender was installed with two steel rolls and one cotton-made roll. With this calender, the coated sheets were passed through the calender from 1 to 4 times, applying the linear pressure on calender rolls, 5 through 100kg/cm and operating the machine speed 3 to 12m/min. Also, the moisture content of coated sheet was varied about 5 and 10%. It was found that sheet gloss and surface roughness of coated paper was increased with increasing the number of passing nips, linear roll pressure and the moisture content of coated paper. But it was shown that the opacity and brightness of coated paper were decreased under the above conditions due to the blackening. It was also suggested that the soft nip possibly increased the thermoplasticity of coating layer with the heat of steel roll, resulting in the reinforcement of surface properties positively. The sheet gloss and surface roughness of coated paper could be improved by the longer dwell time over the rolls.

There has been growing interest and rapid development in transparent electrode films, which are flexible and light and used in mobile, simple information, and electronic devices, and based on recent advancements in nano technology, information technology, and display technology. In particular, studies on developing such films with both high conductivity and high transmittance of visible rays are highly in demand for commercialization. In this study, transparent electrode films were developed for IT using micro patterns that show sheet resistance less than 10 Ω/□, adhesive strength more than 98%, and light transmittance more than 90%. The results of applying a surface emission gradient minimization (Honey Comb) technology to the films was the verification of the sheet resistance, adhesive strength, and light transmittance satisfying the target level of this study through Imprinting and Remolding processes.
