This paper rejuvenates the existing discussion on the importance of cluster approach to industry development strategies. Current evidences suggest that the shape of economic policy and practice is changing significantly around the world. Governments continually search for new tools and policy formulas to improve economic performance and create economic prosperity for all citizens. In this context a more proactive and strategic role for government in support of the cluster-based economic development model has emerged. This paper uses Singapore's petrochemical industry as an example to study the cluster approach to industry development. In doing so, there is much optimism to the importance of state and its institutions to play a significant role on industry development. Nevertheless, the study also raises doubts on whether the cluster-based strategy is due to the concept itself or due to other important factors.

Nerve growth factor (NGF) is a protein plays a major role in the development and maintenance of central and peripheral nervous system. Recent data suggest that reduced availability of NGF may play a significant role in the pathogenesis of diabetic $polyneuropathy.^{1)}$ In our previous study, steroidal saponin from Liriope platyphylla showed neurotrophic effect by stimulation of NGF synthesis and activation of tyrosine kinase $signaling.^{2)}$ In this study, we examined the neurotrophic effect of Liriope platyphylla (LP); which was from Mylyang(MYL) and Cheongyang(CHE), and Ophiopogon japonicus (CHI) on in vitro and in vivo model for the comparison of their NGF induction. We quantitatively analyzed spicatoside A in the LP and CHI by HPLC. And we investigated the correlation between the contents of spicatoside A and NGF induction efficacy on PC 12 cells and mouse serum. These results suggest that spicatoside A may enhance NGF induction in animal model.

Dendritic cells (DCs) are known to professional antigen presenting cell (APC). Due to the role as an effective activator of cytotoxic T Lymphocytes by expressing MHC, adhesion and co-stimulatory molecules, DCs are now widely recognized to play an important role in the immune responses to tumors.We investigated the effect of cultured DCs in murine melanoma pulmonary metastasis model. To follow the metastasis protocol, syngenic melanoma cells were inoculated intra-venously into the mouse (B16F10 into the C57BL/6)8 days prior to the first DC injection (1$\times$106 DCs/ mouse, i.p.) and the autologous tumor cell lysate pulsed-DCs were injected as a therapeutic module twice in two weeks. The purpose of this study was to identify the factors associated with child's Body Mass Index (BMI) and physical activity. The participants (n = 133) were Korean juveniles (3^rd and 4^th graders) and their parents. They completed a questionnaire packet including the SPARK (Sports, Play, and Active Recreation for Kids) survey and the parent equivalent survey. Correlation, multiple linear regression and binary logistic regression analyses were applied to identify the association between child's BMI and 10 factors of SPARK as predict or variables. 25.6% of the participants were classified as overweight (21.1%) or obesity (4.5%). 3 parental factors including mother's BMI and frequency of mother's and father's physical activity were identified as significant predictors of children's BMI. The 10 variables accounted for 28% of the variance (p<.01) in the linear regression model. These results provide insight into parental factors which are related to a child's BMI and physical activity. Parental role modeling which refers to parents' efforts to model an active lifestyle for children plays an important role.

Rust has gained popularity as a memory safe systems programming language. At the center of its memory safety is a strict memory ownership model with stringent rules enforced by the compiler. This paper aims to shed light on this memory safety model and the role smart pointers play towards its success. We study specific smart pointers, their purposes and contribution to Rust's memory safety. We further explore weaknesses of these smart pointers and their APIs, and provide scenarios under which they may lead to memory vulnerabilities in Rust programs.

This study was conducted to derive the new manager model in service economy era. It was logically explained that the modern economic society is different from the existing economic society, the modern organization that is the subject of management is different from the existing organization, and the tasks required by management are different from the existing tasks. It suggested the managerial model required for new managers. According to the proposed manager's model, the tasks required of new managers and essential qualities as managers to perform the tasks were presented. It suggested the role model that managers with required qualities should play. The role of a manager who becomes one with customers, the role of a manager who controls even his irrationality, the role of a manager who combines discernment and indiscriminateness, a flexible leadership role that combines charisma and tenderness, an administrator role that embraces regulations and non-regulations, and vision and non-vision. We derived the role of a manager who manages management, and a manager role model that utilizes both competition and non-competition. The managers engage in two opposing roles and perform management activities in a spiral dialectical cycle that develops while resolving the contradictions of each role. The method of embracing the two opposing parties internally and externally and the dialectical management execution process according to the change of the space-time axis were presented by borrowing the models of The Book of Change. Future research needs an empirical analytical study on this new Model. There is a need for studies that expand this study and develop it into a practical model and verify it in an analytical way.

The vocal folds play an important role to produce glottal pulse which is an essential factor of phonation. There have been some models which implement the vocal folds' dynamics, such as one-mass model, two-mass model, multi-mass model and ribbon model. Among them, this paper uses nonlinear two-mass model, which is simple structure and produces similarly real glottal pulses and vocal folds' vibration, to realize vocal folds digital model. The pattern of movements in vocal folds will be shown in this paper by using vocal folds digital model. It will be verified how initial position of vocal folds. variation of tension and change of lung pressure influences vibration and glottal pulses.

The study examined the mediated-moderation effect of parental reflection levels from maternal childhood experiences by the parents to mother's reaction to negative emotions of their preschoolers by examining it through the lens of parental role satisfaction. The participants in this study were 327 mothers who and their infants aged 3-6 years. They completed questionnaires on the maternal childhood experiences scale, parental reflection scale, parental role satisfaction scale and mother's reaction to negative emotions of their preschoolers scale. The results of the structural equation model analysis are as follows. First, a mediating model revealed that the relationship between maternal childhood experiences by parents and mother's reactions to negative emotions of their preschoolers was mediated by parental role satisfaction. Second, the results revealed the moderation effect of parents reflection levels on the relationship between maternal childhood experiences by parents and parental role satisfaction. Finally, parental reflection levels were also seen to have a mediated moderation effect of parental reflection level from maternal childhood experiences to mother's reaction to negative emotions of their preschoolers through parental role satisfaction. These results indicate the importance of parental reflection and parental role satisfaction.

Bivariate distributions play a fundamental role in survival and reliability studies. We consider a regression model for bivariate survival times under right-censored based on the bivariate Kumaraswamy Weibull (Cordeiro et al., Journal of the Franklin Institute, 347, 1399-1429, 2010) distribution to model the dependence of bivariate survival data. We describe some structural properties of the marginal distributions. The method of maximum likelihood and a Bayesian procedure are adopted to estimate the model parameters. We use diagnostic measures based on the local influence and Bayesian case influence diagnostics to detect influential observations in the new model. We also show that the estimates in the bivariate Kumaraswamy Weibull regression model are robust to deal with the presence of outliers in the data. In addition, we use some measures of goodness-of-fit to evaluate the bivariate Kumaraswamy Weibull regression model. The methodology is illustrated by means of a real lifetime data set for kidney patients.

Many organizations have introduced information technology (IT) as an innovation to gain competitive advantages as business environments have become increasingly complex and rapidly changing. Despite the large investment of IT, there have been mixed results about whether IT creates business values. Considering that IT assimilation may play an important role in explaining IT productivity paradox, this study examines the formation of IT assimilation and its effect on the organizational performance. To do so, this study suggests a research model based on Innovation Diffusion Theory by incorporating organization system, communication channel, change acceptability, and innovation factors, and then attempts to empirically explore the role of IT assimilation for enhanced organizational performance using data collected at the organizational level. Structural equation analysis using AMOS provides significant support for part of proposed relationships. Specifically, we have found encouraging results on the role of IT assimilation by identifying its mediating effect on the organizational performance. Theoretical and practical implications of the findings are discussed accordingly.
