Through the close examination of characteristics of adolescent, social institutions and its programs, and newly added and expanded library reference services. it is founded that new role and qualifications of young adult reference librarians are prerequisite subject. The following are the summary of new role and qualifications of specialized young adult reference librarianship. 1. Adequate training and education for the YA librarians is needed in order to have understanding of their characteristics (physiology, psychology, personality etc.). 2. Because of librarian's unique exposure to human relations and their personal awareness of other people's need, YA librarian should bring a person-centered managerial technique. 3. Librarianship may not have a clinical counseling function but to provide right answer or information, the librarian become counselor inescapably. 4. Librarians are not professionally trained to be experts on counseling in sex education. However, librarians can play an important role in educating YA by committing book selection, reader's advisory, referral services, library programming and staff development planning.

It is widely known that the public library in Korea has not been developed as a social agency which makes communication process possible. The public library in Korea just plays a role of the public study room for students using their own books. There is almost no public libraries in the sense of an open collection of comprehensive materials designed for use by anyone who seeks information. This study starts from this situation. It aims at identifying the present stage of the development of public libraries in Korea through investigating librarians' consciousness in their everyday lives. For this, a case study method is used for investingating, collecting and organizing the 'discourse' of librarians in Pusan and Kyongsangnamdo area. Major suggestions include : First of all, it is most important for public library reformation to eradicate the 'conservatism' in the consciousness of librarians in their everyday lives. So, it is essential to collect their life stories in various library conditions, and make them public discourse of librarians. Secondly, the professional organization should play a role to unify the librarians. For this role, it should maintain a R&D department and strengthen PR programs. Thirdly, Researchers who study Library and Information Science in Korea should be always concerned with the real-life context in the field. The most important type of research in our third world situation is the one that is based on the present stage of the development of our own libraries and the real library situation in the field.

본 연구의 목적은 대학도서관이 급격한 환경변화 속에 있는 대학의 환경을 반영하고, 정보기술의 발전을 반영함으로써 대학을 리드하는 기관으로서 우뚝 서기 위한 전략을 모색하기 위함이다. 이를 위해 대학도서관 사서들을 대상으로 설문을 수행하였으며, 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 대학도서관 사서는 대학도서관과 관련된 빅이슈가 "대학도서관진흥법", 대학도서관 평가 및 평가지표, 대학에서의 대학도서관의 가치, 대학도서관의 공간구성 및 기능변화라고 하였고, 대학의 환경변화, 정부의 대학에 대한 정책, 각종 국책사업, 각종 구조개혁이 대학도서관에 영향을 상당히 미친다고 하였다. 둘째, 대학도서관 사서는 도서관의 역할 변화로 학생의 정보자원 및 기술의 활용능력 향상, 학생의 독서능력 향상, 대학구성원의 연구능력 향상, 대학구성원 학습역량 향상 등에 기여할 수 있다고 하였다. 셋째, 대학도서관 사서는 이용자가 대학도서관에 가장 높게 요구하는 서비스를 전자책 및 정보자원의 확대 등으로 생각하고 있는 것으로 나타났다.

본 연구는 초등학교 교사의 사서교사와의 협력 독서교육 의도에 영향을 미치는 요인을 파악하고, 협력 독서교육을 위해 학교도서관과 사서교사가 해야 할 방안을 모색하는 데에 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 경기도지역 초등학교 9개 학교, 교사 176명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였고, 수집한 자료의 데이터 코딩과 데이터 선별 과정을 거쳐 통계적으로 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 학교도서관의 도서관 역할, 이벤트 역할 인식은 초등학교 교사가 협력 독서교육에서 효과를 기대하며, 사서교사(사서)가 전문성이 있다고 인식했다. 하지만 초등학교 교사의 학교도서관의 교육적 역할 인식은 협력 독서교육의 기대효과와 필요성을 낮게 인식했으며 사서교사(사서)의 전문성도 낮게 인식했다. 본 연구는 협력 독서교육 방안과 그 안에서 사서교사의 전문성을 어디에 두어야 할지를 제안하였다는 점에서 의의를 가진다.

For this purpose, this is criticized about recognition regarding future library of Library and Information Science researchers in Korea. And this is reviewed the present stages of collection development and a role of future books, future libraries and future librarians in Korea. The result of this study is known unrealistic reality analysis and forecast surrounding future library discourse and at the same time that following Western model is not fit for future library in Korea. This study is proposed resolving of problems to access based on physical collection in future library.

The convergence of libraries, archives, and museums (LAMs) has garnered attention in recent years. Extending the tendency further, National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU) fuses the library, archive, museum, and publisher (LAMP) functionality together in its library. This article elaborates on the LAMP practices of the NTNU Library, which indicates that without creating new units in a university, its library can play a good role of curating invaluable university assets.

이 연구에서는 지역도서관 정책 추진에 따른 주요한 역할을 수행해야 하는 광역도서관위원회의 운영 개선을 위해 지역도서관 정책의 중심축에 따라 두 가지 개선 모델을 제안하였다. 제1안의 모델은 본청 내 도서관 정책부서 중심으로 광역도서관 정책 추진에 따른 광역도서관위원회 도서관 정책 심의 기능을 강화할 수 있도록 제안하였으며, 제2안의 모델은 광역대표도서관 중심의 지역도서관 정책 추진에 따라 광역도서관위원회는 정책 거버넌스 역할을 하도록 제안하였다. 제안한 광역도서관위원회 운영 개선 방안의 실효성 있는 추진을 위해서는 제2안에 따라 「도서관법」에서의 광역도서관위원회 기능과 위원장 및 부위원장에 대한 격상이 필요하다. 그리고 광역지방자치단체별 광역도서관위원회 운영에 관한 사항에 관하여 표준화된 자치법규로 규정될 수 있도록 표준 자치법규(안)을 제안하였다.

본 연구는 개정된 새 도서관법에 의한 지역대표도서관의 역할 규명을 위한 것으로, 특정 지역을 선정하여 그 지역대표도서관이 해당 지역 공공도서관 발전 도모를 위해 필요한 역할을 중심으로 진행되었다. 연구에서는 지역대표도서관의 본질적 기능과 해당 지역의 현장 사서들의 인식 및 환경적 요인을 바탕으로 하여 지원적 역할과 협력적 역할을 찾고자 하였다. 그 결과 협력적 역할로는 5개 지역의 특성화된 지역거점도서관의 활용으로, 지원적 역할로는 전북지역 지식정보원의 구축에 의한 교육 및 문화행사의 지원 등을 도모하도록 한다.
