  • The purpose of this study is to investigate (1) the relationship between gender-role attitude and psychological well-being related to the division of household labor and (2) the effect of congruency between gender-role attitude and the division of household labor on psychological well-being for the elderly. In this study, independent variable is gender-role attitude, mediating variable is the division of household labor and dependent variable is psychological well-being. Psychological well-being consists of depression and happiness. The hypotheses of this study are as follows: 1) Gender-role attitude affects psychological well-being of the elderly. The more egalitarian gender-role attitude, the higher degree of psychological well-being, whereas the more traditional gender-role attitude, the lower degree of psychological well-being. 2) The division of household labor influences psychological well-being of the elderly. The higher degree of division of household labor is likely to show the higher degree of psychological well-being. 3) The congruency between gender-role attitude and the division of household labor affects psychological well-being. As the relationship between gender-role attitude and the division of household labor is more congruent. psychological well-being increases. The results of the study are summarized as follows: 1) There is no relation between gender-role attitude and psychological well-being for the elderly. 2) The division of household labor affects psychological well-being for husband. The higher degree of division of household labor, the higher degree of psychological well-being. The result shows that husbands are involved in household labor involuntarily. 3) Congruency between gender-role attitude and the division of household labor affects psychological well-being. As the relationship between gender-role attitude and the division of household labor is more congruent, the degree of depression decreases. 4) Wives participate in most of household labor. Gender segregation in household labor is found in elderly family. 5) Health, income, network of children or sibling, and community network affect psychological well-being. The healthier, higher income and stronger network are likely to show the higher degree of psychological well-being.

In addition, the role of attitude in the process was investigated. 155 Korean college students and 165 U.S. college students participated in the study. Structural equation modeling with risk factors(product delivery, transaction, service) as antecedents, purchase intention as the consequence, and attitude as the mediating variable were analyzed. Results indicated that, for Korean respondents, product delivery risk and transaction risk had significant indirect effect on purchase intention through attitude. Service risk had significant direct effect. For U.S. respondents, product delivery risk had both direct and indirect effect on purchase intention whereas transaction risk had only indirect effect. • This study provides an understanding of the role of job satisfaction as a mediator of compensation and workplace environments for the organizational commitment of employees in the public sector. This study used a structural model using path analysis. The population and sample in this study were all employees at the Population and Civil Registry Office of one of the districts in Indonesia. The sampling technique used was total sampling, due to the considerably smaller amount of the sample size. This study found that compensation and workplace environment could explain job satisfaction variables with a 93.8% confidence level and simultaneously compensation, workplace environment, and job satisfaction that could explain organizational commitment with a variable of 97.4%. This findings also shows that the manifest bonus variable on the latent compensation variable is one of the main indicators that needs to improve to increase job satisfaction and organizational commitment. One of the important things which needs to be done is to increase compensation. The first thing which needs to be done is to increase the bonus. Furthermore, to improve the quality of the workplace environment, facilities, and infrastructure such as stable internet connections, computer specifications are the important criteria that must be met.

  • The rural elderly population has social capital based on regionalism and kinship, which acts as a positive function in terms of their self-efficacy. Self-efficacy refers to the belief in one's own abilities. In general, elderly people with high self-efficacy maintain a healthy life and age successfully. This study examines how the rural elderly population perceive their self-efficacy and social capital and analyzes the role of social capital as a mediating variable. Social capital consists of 4 aspects; trust, norms, network and participation. For this study, data were gathered from 344 rural elderly people aged 60 years and over. The results of this study were as follows. According to the analysis of the structure equation modeling effect, the direct effect of subjective health status on self-efficacy, the indirect effect of the parameters of norms and the total effect were all statistically significant. Second, the direct effect of adult children's support on self-efficacy was significant, and the indirect effects of the parameters of trust, norms and total effect were all statistically significant. This study confirmed that social capital has a mediating effect on the relationship among the subjective health status of the rural elderly, adult children's support and self-efficacy. Furthermore, social capital had a positive impact on the self-efficacy of the rural elderly. Based on these results, a policy for making use of the social capital of the rural elderly should be developed.

  • Purpose: Based on the theory of "Stimulus-Organism-Response" (S-O-R), this thesis takes customer forgiveness as a medium variable to explore the impact of merchant service remedy on customer behavior intention in the context of online shopping service failure. This thesis divides the merchant service remedy into two dimensions: spiritual recovery and material recovery, and reveals the influence difference of different merchant service remedy methods on customer behavior intention and the mediating role of customer forgiveness. Methods : 325 questionnaires were distributed and 307 valid questionnaires were collected for data analysis. The relationship between potential variables is proposed by using Structural Equations Modeling. Results : The two dimensions of service recovery have significant positive impact on customer forgiveness, and physical recovery has greater impact on customer forgiveness. In the influence of physical recovery on customer behavior intention, customer forgiveness is a partial mediating effect. However, in the influence of spiritual recovery on customer behavior intention, customer forgiveness is a complete mediating effect. Conclusion : In case of service faults, merchants should take the initiative to provide appropriate physical recovery and provide spiritual recovery sincerely and patiently. Only in this way can they regain good impression in the hearts of consumers and promote them to improve the quality of service recovery, so as to increase their willingness to repurchase Intention and positive word of mouth.

  • This research emphasized that the importance of Social Support and verify the effects of Social Support on Subjective Well-Being through Achievement Motivation. In addition, the mediating role of Achievement Motivation was clearly identified as a key variable that can lead to Subjective Well-Being. To achieve this purpose of research, an empirical analysis was conducted on Chinese students attending domestic universities. Through empirical analysis, it was found that Social Support improve Motivated Success and Motivated Avoid Failure. Furthermore, Motivated Success and Motivated Avoid Failure were found to increase the level of Subjective Well-Being. Furthermore, in the relationship between social support and subjective well-being, verification of individual mediating effects and multi-parameter effects of Motivated Success and Motivated Avoid Failure showed that only the motivation for success has a partial mediating effect. Finally, practical implications from this study were presented and future research directions were discussed.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of adolescent victimization on human rights consciousness and the mediating effects of depression and evaluation on their own human rights among adolescents. A total of 3,662 middle school student data from '2014 Korean Children and Youth Human Rights Survey' were used for the study. This study analysed a hypothesized research model using structural equation modeling. The main findings on structural model are as follows: First, victimization did not have a direct influence on human rights consciousness but had an indirect effect through a mediating role of evaluation on their own human rights. Secondly, victimization were related to human rights consciousness through double mediating paths of depression and evaluation on their own human right. Finally, human rights education, a control variable, had an indirect effect on human rights consciousness through self-evaluation on human rights. The results of this study suggest some implications for practical intervention and further research on the relation between adolescent victimization and human rights consciousness.
