  • MMORPG(Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game)에서의 게임 서버는 모든 플레이어에게 게임 정보(오브젝트, NPC, 이벤트, 다른 플레이어들의 정보 등)를 실시간으로 전송해야 한다.

  • Playing online games is popular among adolescents and may contribute to such social issues as game addiction and cyber-delinquency. The present study conducted an ethnographic analysis that addressed basic descriptive questions around the social significance of online games. The main findings were that peer pressure plays an important role; that is, adolescents play the games to fulfill their need to occupy higher levels of cyber-status among game players and build special relationships. They like to make money and buy what they want with money earned from game item deals. Game scenarios and mechanisms play an important role in game addiction. Adolescents sometimes exhibit social delinquency in cyberspace or the real world. Thus, adolescents' needs, game addiction and cyber-delinquency are intertwined.

  • The environment of the world becomes deteriorated rapidly as the result of the development of technology, the increase of the standard of living, and the growth of population. These circumstances called for environmental education in Korea, creating an environment course in the middle and high school in 1995. Despite the increasing importance of environmental education, however, the situation has not developed in its favor because of the current system of the university entrance examination. The school has failed to develop the curriculum of environmental education in the secondary education. This paper solves this problem internally in terms of the improvement of the contents, organization, teaching method (role-playing game), and teaching materials of environmental education, with a case study of the “noise” unit in 10th grade. This case study expects to change the attitude toward noise, increase the interest and knowledge in environment, and lead to responsible environmental behavior.

  • In MMORPGs(Massively Multi-player Online Role-Playing Games) a large number of players actively interact with one another in a virtual world. Therefore MMORGs must be able to quickly process real-time access requests and process requests from numerous gaming users. A key challenge is that the workload of the game server increases as the number of gaming users increases. To address this workload problem, many developers apply with distributed server architectures which use dynamic map partitioning and load balancing according to the server function. Therefore most MMORPG servers partition a virtual world into zones and each zone runs on multiple game servers. These methods cause of players frequently move between game servers, which imposes high overhead for data updates. In this paper, we propose a new architecture that apply with an arithmetic server dedicated to data operation. This architecture enables the existing game servers to process more access and job requests by reducing the load. Through mathematical modeling and experimental results, we show that our scheme yields higher efficiency than the existing ones.

  • The game industry of the Republic of Korea is being firmly located with great benefit and value. As internet developing quickly, the online game of the Republic of Korea boosted up to the level of the best in the world. Online Game has been developed with various types to make the user satisfy. Among those, MMORPG(Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game) is the most popular game type. MMORPG games have getting more popularity in many foreign market but some have failed. Therefore this essay analyzes the MMORPG which has most popular through out the 4 kinds dividing in "Play and Human" by Roger Caillois. Moreover I try to analyze and experiment. Also through out the accomplishing Quest from the Goonzu which is developed and serviced in China, it experimented and it analyzed. With the help of information technology.

  • The load of this kind of gores, which is heavier than that of any other precedent, and on enormous seamless virtual world characterize the MMORPG(Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game) genres. In this seamless environment, gamers can usually accept a set of independent spaces, which is being held by independent game servers, os a single big virtual world. Despite the efforts of some developers, gamers are suffered from huge message traffic which comes from the interaction between client and server and the interaction between fold sowers. In this paper, new gore server architecture using MigAgent is proposed which tries to reduce message traffic. Usually, message traffic reaches the climax when a PC(Player Character) is moving to other field server. MigAgent, designed in this thesis, tries to manage this kind of PCs and to ploy o role of user's agent to prepare for the unexpected situation. Improvement of this system is shown by the analysis of the effect of the size ratio of AOI (Area of Interest) and AC (Adjacent Cell).

  • In this paper, we propose a new distributed processing scheme to support MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Games). But existing distributed game servers have some problems such as hotspot, congestion, server failure problems, and so on. To solve such problems, our proposed scheme begins by splitting the large virtual world into smaller regions, each region handled by a different server. We present a scheme that reduces the bandwidth requirements for both game servers and clients. Also our scheme allows seamless interaction among players residing on areas handled by different servers. We show an excellence of the proposed solution through various experiments.

  • Game industry has emerged as one of the most popular sector among the cultural industries in the digital era. The role of game characters has evolved with the times and today, the characters can even determine the fate and success of the game itself. In early stage, game character nearly didn't contain the character itself because it was for only game, however its importance has been considered more than the contents and scenario of game as game business has been changing gradually. Therefore, the "Formation" of the character that is the core of game, is an important factor that can make different products, is playing an essential role for the improvement in work and productivity of game.

  • Client- server interaction in a massive multi-player online role-playing game(MMORPG) is usually made via network-message Passing. Since the game contents and elements in such MMORPGs are consistently evolved, messages need to be added, deleted, or modified accordingly. Therefore, game programmers are repeatedly required to write new programs or at least modify existing programs. The XML-based message definition system introduced in this paper facilitates the addition and modification of messages for game interaction ; it not only allows programmers to save a considerable amount of time for modifying existing messages or adding new messages but also relieves them of a serious burden of programming bugs. In addition, this system can be used for general client-server applications.

  • Containers are commonly used as an effective and relatively inexpensive method for transporting goods. Unfortunately, there are often imbalances between the number of import and export containers, and some ports have a surplus of empty containers while others have a deficit. The Empty Container Simulation Game was developed to address these problems. The game is a computer role playing simulation that simulates the distribution of empty containers in order to solve empty container imbalances among ports. An optimal solution is obtained by the computer using linear programming (LP). Upon completion of the game, a player's game results are displayed along with the LP solution. The game interface was designed to provide easy access and operation. This game will serve to provide an easy understanding and planning for empty container management.
