The purpose of this study was to identify the paternal role-behavior. Data were collected from questionnares with 270 fathers at the thirties-forties residing in Seoul. The data were analyzed with the SPSS WIN 7.0 package. The major findings were as follows: (1) The general trends of paternal role-behavior showed relatively high(mean=3.60) (2) Paternal role-behavior differed significantly according to their age education level occupation among the demograpic variables (3) Paternal role-behavior differed significantly according to age of oldest child number of sons number of daughters among the family-environmental variables. (4) Paternal role-behavior was correlated with the perceptions on this own father's ways of rearing marital satisfaction job satisfaction experience of bringing up child (5) The result of the regression analysis for the paternal role-behavior the seven variables most affected were as follows; father's role perception(β=3.6) age of oldest child (β= -1.9) experience of bringing up child(β=.19) perception on his own father's nurturance(β=.16) number of child(β=-.16) number of sons(β=-.13) level of income(β=.12)

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify perception of recovery, self-esteem, role performance, job satisfaction and factors influencing job satisfaction of psychiatric mental heath nurses. Methods: Data were collected from 161 psychiatric nurses from G city & J province who understood the purpose of the study and agreed to participate. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, Pearson correlation coefficient, and multiple regression with SPSS 18.0. Results: There were significant differences in job satisfaction between upper 25% and lower 25% group for perception of recovery, self-esteem, and role performance. Results from the multiple regression analysis revealed difference in the related factors and in the magnitude of the relationship evaluated by standardized beta coefficients. Significant factors, listed by the magnitude of beta coefficients, were role performance, self esteem, roles and responsibilities in recovery, expectations regarding recovery in perception of recovery. These variables accounted for 16% of job satisfaction. Conclusion: Results indicate that to improve psychiatric nurses' job satisfaction, there is a need to develop programs including personal qualities and perception of recovery. Further research is necessary in order to establish consensus on roles of the related factors of job satisfaction.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship among role Perception, coaching behavior and coaching confidence of Judo coaches. Using a convenience sampling method, 196 coaches in judo from registered in Korea Jodo Association. Frequency analysis, exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, correlations analysis and structural equation model analysis were executed using IBM SPSS Statistics v21 and IBM SPSS Amos v21. As the results, the following conclusion was derived. First, it was discovered that the Role Perception had influence to the Coaching Behavior. Second, it showed that the Role Perception gave influence to the coaching confidence. Third, it showed that the Coaching Behavior affected the coaching confidence.
Objectives: This study investigates dropout intention and the structural relationship between the dental hygienist role and satisfaction with the study major perceived by dental hygiene students. Methods: A survey was conducted on 269 dental hygiene students. The survey items covered general characteristics, department choice motivation, the desirability of dental hygienist career, practice clinical experience, perception of dental hygienist role, satisfaction with study major, and dropout intention. Independent sample t-test, one-way ANOVA, Mann-Whitney U test, multiple linear regression analysis, and structural equation modeling were used for statistical analysis. Results: The dropout intention level of dental hygiene students was 2.4 out of 5.0. Satisfaction with study major partially mediates perception of dental hygienist role and dropout intention (direct effect=0.182, p=0.024, indirect effect=-0.437, p=0.010). Perception of dental hygienist role (β=-0.255, p=0.010) and satisfaction with study major (β=-0.661, p=0.010) showed a negative relationship with dropout intention. The factor most affecting dropout intention was satisfaction with study major. Dropout intention was high when selecting a major based on external motivations (β=-0.448, p<0.001). Conclusions: Perception of dental hygienist role and satisfaction with study major directly or indirectly affect dropout intention. Therefore, improving satisfaction with study major and improving the perception of dental hygienists will help reduce dropout intention.
The purposes of study were to investigate the prenatal psychological adaptation and the perception of birth experience, and to identify the relationship between them. The subjects consisted of 162 women who visited the obstetrical outpatient clinic for prenatal examinations and who delivered the in babies at SNUH during the period from June 20 to August 10, 1990. The tools used for measurement were Lederman's Prenatal Self Evaluation Questionnaire and Marut & Mercer's scale of the Perception of Birth. The results are summarized as follows : 1. The orders and item means of psychosocial adaptation in pregnancy were the Acceptance of pregnancy(1.58). Identification of motherhood role(1.63). Relationship with husband(1.65) and Relationship with mother(1.67). The preparation for labor, concern for wellbeing of self and baby, and fear of pain, helplessness and loss of control were found to be less adaptive. 2. The level of the perception of the birth experience was mid-range(item mean : 3.22). The score of the perception of birth experience for primiparas was higher than for multiparas. However there was not a significant difference the groups. There were significant differences in the perception of the birth experience between certain general characteristics, namely, sex of the baby(p<0.05), type of delivery(p<0.005), and type of anesthesia(p<0.005). 3. There were significant differences in the perception of the birth experience between the groups below the mean and above the mean of concerti for wellbeing of self and baby, Fear of pain, Helplessness and loss of control, Relationship with husband and Identification of motherhood role (p<0.05). The perception of the birth experience was predicted by Fear of pain, Helplessness and loss of control (11%), Type of Delivery(6%), Concern for wellbeing of self and baby(3%), Preparation for labor(1%), sex of baby(1%), Relationship with mother(1%), Parity(1%) and Identification of motherhood role(1%). The Childbirth education should be revised to improve the psychosocial adaptation in pregnancy.
Purpose: This study aimed to assess the perception and performance of antimicrobial stewardship among clinical nurses and to contribute to establishing their role through an Importance-Performance Analysis(IPA) matrix. Methods: The study included 203 nurses working in hospitals of general hospital level or higher. Data collection took place from April 9 to May 6, 2024. Data analysis involved descriptive statistics, t-tests, ANOVA, Scheffé tests, and IPA analysis. Results: The average perception score for antimicrobial stewardship was 4.42±0.46, while the performance score was 3.96±0.53. Significant differences in perception and performance were observed across several ares: observation of patients, checking with/suggesting to physician based on assessments, implement tests and antimicrobial administration, patient education and support, coordinating multiple disciplines and institutions, acquiring up to date knowledge(p<.050). Perception was highest in the area of implement tests and antimicrobial administration but lowest in coordinating multiple disciplines and institutions. Conclusion: To establish the specific role of nurses in antimicrobial stewardship, improving nurse perception and fostering collaboration with various experts are essential. Developing educational programs and institutional support tailored to nurses is necessary to address areas identified for improvement in both perception and performance.
Social networking service(SNS) helps users manage, share and delivery a vast information as a communication tool. When users read crisis news in SNS, they communicate the information with others by considering not only their belief (i.e., cognitive risk perception) but also emotion (i.e., affective risk perception). However, few researches have been interested in the construct of communication behaviors of crisis in SNS. This study aimed to explore the role of risk perception (cognitive and affective risk perception) between crisis responsibility and communication behavior through dual processing theory. As a result of the empirical analysis, crisis responsibility had a positive effect on cognitive risk perception and affective risk perception. In addition, cognitive risk perception had no significant effect on communication behavior whereas affective risk perception had influence on communication behavior positively. Thus, our findings may predict that the affective risk perception through crisis responsibility is more potentially important to communication behavior such as sharing information rather than cognitive risk perception. The results give insightful ideas why marketer should reduce perceived emotion caused by risk to strengthen prospective SNS users understanding of communication behavior intention.
The purpose of this study was to investigate(Ⅰ) the effect of a masculine-feminine image in women's suit on the perception of the wearer's occupational characteristics and suitability of the clothing for certain occupations, and (2) the effect of perceiver's sex, sex-role attitudes, and occupation on the perception formed by the function of clothing cues. The research design of the study consisted of 2(pink and navy blue colors) × 4(masculine and feminine forms) factorial design of a suit. The experimental materials developed for this study were a set of stiuli and 2 response scales. The stimuli consisted of 8 drawings of woman's clothing made by systematic manipulations of 2 independent variables(color and form) in drawings of suit. The dependent variables were the perceptions of the wearer's occupational characteristics and suitability of the masculine or feminine clothing for certain occupations. Occupational characteristics were measured with a 7-point semantic differential scale composed of 21 bipolar adjectives. Perception of ccupational suitability was assessed with 12 items of 5-point Likert type questions. In addition, the Bem Sex-role Inventory was used to assess perceiver's sex-role attitudes. The subjects consisted of 393 men and 389 women, whose occupations were classified as professionals, secondary school teachers, and white-collar workers. They were randomly assigned to one of 8 suit. The data were analyzed by factor analysis, MANOVA, ANOVA, Mean and S.D. Three factors emerged to account for the perception of occupational characteristics. These factors were given the titles of (1) activity, (2) potency, and (3) evaluation factors. The activity factor was the largest, including 9 adjectives. Differences in the form of the suit had effects on potency and evaluation for both sexes, while it also had some effect on activity for women. The color of the suit had some effect on evaluation for both sexes. Strong effects of color and form on the suit were seen in perception of occupational suitability for the occupations of attorney(masculine) and secretary(feminine). On suitability for secondary school teaching occupation, the effects of color and form of suit differed by sex of the subjects. Perceiver's sex-role attitudes and occupation paritally influenced the perception of the wearer's occupational characteristics and suitability of the clothing for certain occupations. In summary, a masculine-feminine image of clothing had a significant effect on the perception of occupational characteristics as well as on suitability of the clothing for certain occupations. Thus, the results of the study support the implicit personality theory on person perception and also the stereotypes of sex-roles on the perception of occupational suitability.
The purpose of this study is to provide basic data needed to examine the relationship between father and son by investigating correlations among male college students' perceptions of the degree of closeness to their fathers their fathers' paternal role and their own paternal role in the future. The subjects of this study were 474 male college students(sophomores juniors and seniors) from Seoul and Daegu. The questionaire the means of this research is composed of classified questions on related studies and on the researches of reference literatures, Statistical methods applied for data analysis were frequencies mean standard deviation Pearson's correlation. Major findings are as follows; 1) When a son perceives that he is on intimate terms with his father he perceives that his father performs paternal role well. Intimate relation between the father and the son can be considered essential to good performance of paternal role. 2)When a son perceives that he is on intimate terms w th his father he believes that he will perform his own paternal role will in the future. That is the son seems to accept his future paternal role positively as he feels close to his father. 3) Male college students who perceive their fathers' paternal role is properly performed tend to believe they will perform their own paternal role well in the future. Judging from the relation between fathers' performance of paternal role and sons' perception of thir future paternal role we can say good performance of paternal role is important is building up sons' affirmative perception of paternal role.
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to identify the factors affecting the role of nurses with regard to the perception of good death, knowledge of advance directives, and stress and attitude toward withdrawing life-sustaining treatment. Methods: Data were collected from 102 nurses working at a general hospital. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, Scheffé test, Pearson correlation coefficient, and multiple linear regression using the SPSS 28.0.1.0 program. Results: Educational level (β=.37, p=.001 for bachelor; β=.33, p=.005 for master or higher) and good death perception (β=.22, p=.024) were significant factors of the role of nurses associated with withdrawing life-sustaining treatment. Conclusion: Based on the result of this study, information about awareness of good death should be included in development of an educational program in order to strengthen the role of nurses in withdrawing life-sustaining treatment of patients.
