Namwon Singyeri Maaeyeoraejwasang (Rock-Carved Seated Buddha Statue) is composed mainly foliated granite and is different metamorphic grade and weathering degree on rock location. As the results of deterioration evaluation, upper part of the buddha statue was estimated that granularity decomposition was serious and rock strength was lower than lower part. Furthermore organism assessed most effect of among weathering factors. Chl. a amount of organism species were calculated $0.2{\mu}g/cm^2$ of crustaceous lichen, $1.1{\mu}g/cm^2$ of foliose lichen, $2.3{\mu}g/cm^2$ of bryophyte. Organism was taken treatment in order of amount of Chl. a and pre-cleaning, dry cleaning, wet cleaning in sequence. It should be establish conservation plan that strengthening in consideration of lithology characteristics and setting in good condition environment to conserve long-term of Maaeyeoraejwasang.
The standing Buddha named Taehwa 4 yew in the Jincheon were sculptured with rock cliff of the dark grey shale. Front of the Buddha statue shows $N40^{\circ}W$ strike with nearly vertical dip toward the back side. Rock blocks of the Buddha statue well developed with bedding and laminations whereas rock surface distributed into the various irregular discontinuities. Sculptured lines of the Buddha were uncertain because of degradation and exfoliations on the rock surface. The surface near the Buddha statue is highly contaminated with lichen and mosses, and accelerate physical and biological weathering owing to the roots of weed and bush along the fracture systems. For the conservational treatment, we treated with primary wet cleaning by air gun and secondary cleaning treatment using distilled water. Separated rock surface and fractured parts fasten and/or fill up the boundaries of the rock blocks using epoxy resin for conservation of rock properties. Some brittle surface was treatment with water repellent consolidant of ethyl silicates, and heterogeneous surface carried out color matching by acrylic pigments. Upper part of the Buddha statue dig out small ditch for rain water drainage, and near surface of the Buddha statue treat removal works for lichen, weeds and bush. The duration capacity of the Buddha constituting rocks are degraded by various weathering factors, therefore we suggest that this Buddha statue have need to do long term monitoring and synthetic conservation researches.
The Seosanmaaesamjonbulsang (national treasure 84) is carved has a quite developed tectonic line in a precipitous wall of stratified rock to the vertical and horizontal directions. The main buddha and the left part of it have got the biological weathering and the efflorescence has been detected on the shoulder part of the right buddha. It has been caused by the raindrops from upper rock after the dismantling of the protection shelter in 2007. Two proper measures have been taken in order to reduce the weathering and protect it from some damages. The one is removing the contaminant by dry/wet cleaning not to get any damage on the rock. The other is the isolation by the construction of a new waterway used L-30 on the upper part of the rock not to contaminate the surface of Rock-carved triad buddha with the raindrops from upper rock. Moreover, the sunlight for buddha has been increased and good ventilation has been made by cutting down the trees around the Rock-carved triad buddha.

Marine algal assemblages on the artificial reefs at three stations (Haengwon, Geumneung, Pyoseon in Jeju-do) and the growth pattern of Ecklonia cava with water depth were studied before and after rocky cleaning. Nine algal species occurred at three artificial reefs before rocky cleaning in July 2012, however, 19 algal species were found at three artificial reefs after rocky cleaning in July 2013. In particular, 13 of 19 species in 2013 were replaced by different species which were not found in July 2012. Algal biomass rapidly increased in July 2013 after rocky cleaning. The nMDS plot based on the presence and absence data of macro-algal assemblages on the artificial reefs showed that the species compositions between artificial reefs were similar to each other before rocky cleaning operations in July of 2012. However, after rocky cleaning, the species composition of macro-algal assemblages in Haengwon region was similar to that in Pyoseon region while that in Geumneung region was different to those in Haengwon and Pyseon regions in July 2013. It is needed to clarify the suitable water depth for transplantation of perennial Phaeophyta E. cava. According to the data on seasonal changes in total length, total weight, blade length, blade width, blade weight of E. cava, it began to grow rapidly from April and reached to the maximum value in June, and then degeneration of the blade occurred in July and continued to early August. Although the total length of E. cava at 10m water depth was larger than those at 5 m and 15 m water depths, there was no significant difference statistically among water depths by ANOVA test. However, in the values of total weight, blade length, blade width, and blade weight, the growth patterns at 5 m water depth were larger than those at 10 m and 15 m. Thus, it is assumed that the most suitable water depth for transplantation and its maximum growth and effective release of zoospores of E. cava will be 7~10 m water depth.
The Chungung-dong 5-storied pagoda (Treasure No. 12) in the nnm, Korea was studied on the basis of petrological weathering and deterioration diagnosis. Frontal part of the pagoda is looked out on the N30$^{\circ}$W. Constitution rocks of this pagoda show augen gneiss and biotite granite. Host rock of the pagoda was highly exfoliation and discoloration, therefore most rock-forming minerals were altered to the clay minerals due to the mineralogical and chemical weathering. Open cavity and rock surface occur partly green and black patchs because of contamination by algae, lichen and moss, and the lower part of the pagoda is transition to the some weeds. This biological problems are need for cleaning and chemical treatments. For the structural stability, the pagoda is rebuilt without open gap between the each rock materials. All iron plates eliminate from the difference gap of the rock materials, and properly conservation treatments need to be repaired petro-filler for stone cultural properties and water curtain for the humidity attenuation of the ground.

Rock materials of the Stone Lantern in the Gwanchoksa temple was composed of dark grey granodiorite. This Stone Lantern is partly structural distortion as S-shape, especially, rocks of the upper supports and under the roof materials were highly deterioration due to the surface exfoliation, and strong secondary contaminations owing to the discoloration by oxidation of inserted iron plates between the rock properties, and white grey to dark black contaminants along the rain path way. Rock surface of the Stone Lantern occurred as partly green patches because of coated by algae, lichen and moss. This biological problems are need for cleaning and treatments. The Stone Lantern have to be considered to conservation method that can reduce weathering factors with long-term monitoring about environmental change for structural stability, surface degradation and mechanical weathering. Materials of the Stone Lantern and basement rocks of the area are consisted of same petrogenetic granodiotite based on occurrences, petrological and geochemical characteristics.

This study evaluates the occurrences, phyfical weathering and biological deterioration on rock properties during the dissection process an object of stone pagoda in the Mireuksaji temple site. For restoration and conservation, all kinds of rock properties are carried out detailed scientific investigation and diagnosis. Constituting rocks of the pagoda composed mainly of equi-granular medium grained biotite that rock properties presumed to be use about 3,000 materials. Main external properties of the pagoda are total 446 materials, and the rock properties under the concentration load on the each floors occurred with overlapping fracture, weathering and deteriorations. The 84 materials show highly degraded about $18.8\%$ among the external properties. Representative physicochemical deteriorations are fracture, loss, break, exfoliation, degradation, grain shaped dissolution, relief surface, discoloration and hydroxide precipitates, in this study, the deterioration state of each properties give a precisely description and analysis. Coverage of lichen and algae on the rock surface represented about $85\%$. As the some properties, biological contaminants withered up when spray rock surface with diluted cleaning chemicals. Results of the study are utilized an application for restoration system and detailed investigation during the dissection process of stone cultural properties.
The Octagonal nine storied pagoda of Woljeongsa Temple consists mainly of granite with the rockforming minerals quartz, plagioclase, microcline, and biotite. The surface of the stone stupa is light brown that has been discolored by the rust from the metal ornament and aids. The surface of the stylobate and roof stone is colonized by biological contaminants. Therefore, a comprehensive deterioration diagnosis was carried out in this study, and conservation treatment was conducted. It was proven that the $Fe^{2+}$ yield increases depending on the count of poultice used with oxalic acid, but the $Mg^{2+}$, $Al^{3+}$, and $Ca^{2+}$ yields were marginal following the preliminary test. Therefore, the use of poultice is an effective way of removing the rust, and only marginally influences the rock. The biological contaminants were removed through dry cleaning, and the soil located under the contaminants was removed through wet cleaning. Based on this, the dry and wet cleaning of all the biological contaminants, and the use of poultice with oxalic acid, were done to remove the rust. For the conservation treatment of the metal ornament, the rust was removed through physical cleaning, and anticorrosion treatment was performed on the iron ornament using Renaissance wax and copper ornament by BTA.

The Jincheonsagongnimaaeyeoraeipsang is a great stone relief Buddha in Goryeo Dynasty, transmitting sculptural styles of the Silla Kingdom. The Buddha was carved on the biotite granite basement, and was undergone cleaning treatment in 2007. The basement rock was opened in plenty cracks bringing out structural instability. And the top of the basement rock was colonized by trees obstructing sunshine and raising humidity. As a result of failure analysis, the basement rock of the Buddha had a major possibility of wedge failure in the parts of the face, hands and cloths. Therefore, the cracks were filled up with epoxy resin L-50, and titanium bars and wire ropes were applied to bind cracked rock blocks. The surface of the crack filler was colored by granite and talc powder with inorganic pigment and L-30. The crack meters were installed on the stone relief Buddha to monitor further behavior, lastly.
Rock materials of the three-storied stone pagoda in the Cheongryongsa temple in Korea are mainly composed of gneissose two-mica granite and fine-grained granite. This stone pagoda shows structural instability due to cracks and breaking-out of the stones. The surface properties of the stone is highly degraded by various inorganic pollutants and epilithic biospecies. Therefore, this study carried out comprehensive deterioration diagnosis by non-destructive methods, and some conservation treatments base on the diagnosis were carried out to reduce weathering progress. As the treatments, the biospecies and lichen that covering on the stone surfaces were removed by dry and wet cleaning, and degraded concrete applied to the pagoda for restoration in the past was removed and repaired with epoxy resin. Oxidized iron plates inserted between the rock properties were also substituted titanium stainless steels. After all processes are completed, we sprayed consolidant on the rock surface. Finally, the ground of the stone pagoda was rearranged using small rock aggregates, and the fence was established for control of artificial deterioration by visitors and environmental maintenance.
