This paper presents the development of a simulator for an industrial robot. The simulator is characterized by a fully integrated dynamic model and a hardware oriented control scheme. The dynamic model includes the actuator dynamics as well as the manipulator dynamics to integrate the entire dynamics of the robot system. On the other hand, the control scheme is oriented as a hardware structure which is usually implemented in the industrial robot. That is to say, a conventional PI control law is used to regulate the position, the speed, and the current. A Pulse Wave Modulation (PWM)generator modulates the supplied voltage to the actuator. Since the simulator is consistent with the industrial robot system, it provides the essential design concepts for the development process of the robot. In practice, the simulator is applied to the SCARA robot which has been developed in GSIS. Here, it investigates the characteristics and performance of the robot with changing design parameters. Thus, the investigation furnishes criteria for the selection of acfuator, control gain, trajectory planning, etc.

In this paper, we propose a sliding mode controller for a robot manipulator with passive joints. A robot manipulator with passive joints which are not equipped with any actuators is a kind of underactuated system. Underactuated systems have some advantages compared to fully-actuated ones. For example, they weigh less and consume less energy because they have smaller number of components than fully-actuated ones. However the control of an underactuated manipulator is much more difficult than that of fully- actuated robot manipulator. In this paper a complex dynamic model of a manipulator with passive joints is manipulated for sliding mode control. Sliding mode controllers are designed for this complex system and the stability of the controllers is proved mathematically. Finally a simulation for this control system is executed for evaluating the effectiveness of the designed sliding mode controller.
In this paper, an embedded system has been designed for force control application to interact between a robot arm and a human operator. Force induced by the human operator is converted to the desired position information for the robot to follow. For smooth operations, the impedance force control algorithm is utilized to represent interaction between the robot and the human operator by filtering the force. To improve the performance of position control of the robot arm, a velocity term has been obtained and tested by several filters. A PD controller for position control has been implemented on an FPGA as well. Experimental studies are conducted with the ROBOKER to test the functionality of the designed hardware.
A robot control scheme for specific application a line-tracking system is newly presented. To improve the performance of line-tracking, robot arm dynamics and torque constraints are incorporated into the control scheme. The tracking problem for the workpiece on a variable-speed conveyor is formulated as an optimal tracking problem with specific criteria. Dividing the conveyor speed into the nominal term and the perturbed term, a two-stage control strategy is employed to cope with the nonlinearity and uncertainty of the robot-conveyor system. Simulation results are given to verify good tracking performance with fast cycle time and high accuracy in a robotic workcell.
Because robot hardware architecture generally is consisted of a few sensors and motors connected to the central processing unit, this type of structure is led to time consuming and unreliable system. For analysis, one of the fundamental difficulties in real-time system is how to be bounded the time behavior of the system. When a distributed control network controls the robot, with a central computing hub that sets the goals for the robot, processes the sensor information and provides coordination targets for the joints. If the distributed system supposed to be connected to a control network, the joints have their own control processors that act in groups to maintain global stability, while also operating individually to provide local motor control. We try to analyze the architecture of network-based humanoid robot's leg part and deal with its application using the CAN(Controller Area Network) protocol.
This paper deals with a control technique of eliminating the transient vibration with respect to a waist axis of an articulated robot. This control technique is based on a model-based control in order to establish the damping effect on the driven mechanical part. The control model is composed of reduced-order electrical and mechanical parts related to the velocity control loop. The parameters of the control model can be obtained from design data or experimental data. This model estimates a load speed converted to the motor shaft. The difference between the estimated load speed and the motor speed is calculated dynamically, and it is added to the velocity command to suppress the transient vibration. This control method is applied to an articulated robot regarded as a time-invariant system. The effectiveness of the model-based control integrated into the position control loop is verified by simulations. Simulations show satisfactory control results to reduce the transient vibration at the end-effector.
Most industrial robot have not load control box because of robot's weight and volume. A robot is connected to its control box by cables. and then there are a lot of problem for transfer, management and operation of robot. Now a day, A lot of control module are made small size by development of electronics part technology and control technology and they are developing as embedded and loading system. For that, control module and its servo system for a mobile robot is developed. they are small size in comparison with conventional products.
Multi-agent robot system is the system which executes by cooperating with each robots and controlling several robots. Capability and function of each robot must be considered for cooperation behavior. Furthermore, it is necessary to analyze the given environment and to replace complex task with some simple tasks. Analysis of the given environment and role assignment for the given tasks are composed of discret event. In this paper, the hierarchical controller for multi-agent robot system using the petri-net state diagram is proposed. The proposed modeling method is implemented for soccer robot system. The effectiveness of proposed modeling method is shown through experiment.
This paper reveals the utilization of the multi-gent system that based on the Blackboard system basis as the controller of Soccer Robot. This system is a portion of developing the Soccer Robot team for Robocup 2004 Competition. In this development, the intelligent control system was initiated by the combination of parallel and distributed blackboard structures with the principle design that generated from human body structures, which consists of the combination of two main systems, the organs system and the brain system. The system is designed using the control system theory based on Blackboard basis. Modification of the initial structures to corroborate the Soccer Robot and the structure's constituents are clarified accordingly. To demonstrate the idea, ITE-old team is given as a case study.

In order for humans and robots to interact in daily life, robots need to understand human speech and link it to their actions. This paper proposes a hierarchical behavior model for robot action control using natural language commands. The model, which consists of episodes, primitive actions and atomic functions, uses a sentential cognitive system that includes multiple modules for perception, action, reasoning and memory. Human speech commands are translated to sentences with a natural language processor that are syntactically parsed. A semantic parsing procedure was applied to human speech by analyzing the verbs and phrases of the sentences and linking them to the cognitive information. The cognitive system performed according to the hierarchical behavior model, which consists of episodes, primitive actions and atomic functions, which are implemented in the system. In the experiments, a possible episode, "Water the pot," was tested and its feasibility was evaluated.
