영상검지 카메라를 이용한 도로상의 차량흐름 계측방안 연구 (The Development of Camera Detection System for the Measurement Road Traffic Data)

  • To improve the road transportation safety, the road traffic data is monitored by applying an image detection system. The road traffic safety is analysed using image processing techniques. For more accurate measurement, the coordinate matching of real road data to image is one of the most essential parts of the image detection technique. The road image is skewed at the input screen, because the video camera is installed at the roadside. A fast and precise algorithm for the coordinate matching is developed to convert image coordinates into road coordinates.

규칙 기반 분류 기법을 활용한 도로교량 안전등급 추정 모델 개발 (Developing an Estimation Model for Safety Rating of Road Bridges Using Rule-based Classification Method)

  • Road bridges are deteriorating gradually, and it is forecasted that the number of road bridges aging over 30 years will increase by more than 3 times of the current number. To maintain road bridges in a safe condition, current safety conditions of the bridges must be estimated for repair or reinforcement. However, budget and professional manpower required to perform in-depth inspections of road bridges are limited. This study proposes an estimation model for safety rating of road bridges by analyzing the data from Facility Management System (FMS) and Yearbook of Road Bridges and Tunnel. These data include basic specifications, year of completion, traffic, safety rating, and others. The distribution of safety rating was imbalanced, indicating 91% of road bridges have safety ratings of A or B. To improve classification performance, five safety ratings were integrated into two classes of G (good, A and B) and P (poor ratings under C). This rearrangement was set because facilities with ratings under C are required to be repaired or reinforced to recover their original functionality. 70% of the original data were used as training data, while the other 30% were used for validation. Data of class P in the training data were oversampled by 3 times, and Repeated Incremental Pruning to Produce Error Reduction (RIPPER) algorithm was used to develop the estimation model. The results of estimation model showed overall accuracy of 84.8%, true positive rate of 67.3%, and 29 classification rule. Year of completion was identified as the most critical factor on affecting lower safety ratings of bridges.

동역학 시뮬레이션을 통한 농업부산물 수집기 체결장치의 안전성 분석 (Simulation Study on the Safety of a Fastening Device of Agricultural By-product Collector)

  • In this study, the safety of fastening device for the agricultural by-product collector was evaluated according to the driving ground conditions by deriving the stress, static safety factor, and fatigue life using dynamic simulation. A 3D modeling of agricultural by-product collector was carried out, and simulation model was developed by applying the material properties. As a result of dynamic simulation, the magnitude of the maximum stress generated in the fastening device was the highest when driving on the flat off-road, followed by sloped pave-road and flat pave-road. Static safety factor and fatigue life were the highest when driving on the flat pave-road, followed by sloped pave-road and flat off-road. The safety of fastening device was confirmed that static safety factor was more than 1.0 and service life exceeded 9 years in all driving ground conditions.

  • 최근 사회여건의 변화로 도로정책의 패러다임은 이용자 중심의 안전성 위주로 변화하고 있다. 최근 시설개량사업은 지속적인 증가 추이를 보이고 있으나 대부분 경제적 타당성 확보가 미흡한 실정이다. 따라서 도로 안전성에 대한 객관적이고 타당한 분석을 통해 합리적인 시설개량 대상사업 선정이 절실히 요구되는 시점이다. 본 연구에서는 새로운 도로 안전성 평가기법 개발을 위해 국도, 국지도, 지방도 등 75개 노선에 대해 현행 도로 안전성 평가기법을 토대로 데이터를 구축하였으며, 이렇게 구축된 데이터를 중심으로 문제점을 분석하여, 새로운 도로 안전성 평가기법의 기초자료로 활용하였다. 본 연구에서는 교통사고발생현황을 가중치를 통해 일반 평가항목으로 추가하고, 지자체 공무원들의 문제 지적 및 건의 사항 등을 통해 최종 평가항목을 확정하였다. 각 평가항목에 대해서는 전문가 AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) 설문 평가를 통해 합리적 가중치를 도출하였으며, 항목별 평가기준을 토대로 안전지수(Safety Index)를 결정하였다. 결정된 각 항목의 안전지수(SI)를 토대로, 각 안전지수의 곱인 종합 안전지수를 산출하였으며, 위험구간 판정 기준을 정립하였다. 또한, 위험구간 연장 비율인 종합위험도에 따른 시설개량 대상사업 선정 기준 도출 등 합리적이고 객관적인 도로 안전성 평가기법을 개발하였다.

안전시설 설치 기준 마련을 위한 도로안전 판단지표 개발연구 (Study on the Development of Road Safety Judgment Indicators to Establish of Installation Criteria of Safety Facility)

  • 과거 안전시설 설치 기준 및 도로안전지수 등에 관한 다양한 연구가 수행되어왔다. 하지만 연구결과를 사용하기에 많은 조사항목과 사용하기 어려운 변수를 사용하는 등 현장에 적용하기에는 한계가 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 연구결과의 적용 가능성을 고려한 도로안전 판단지표를 개발하고 안전시설의 설치 기준을 마련하고자 하였다. 유관시스템의 데이터 항목을 검토하였으며 이미 활용 중인 변수의 사용을 고려하였다. 상관분석과 요인분석을 통해 교통요인, 도로요인, 사고요인을 반영한 도로안전 판단지표를 개발하였으며, 군집분석을 통해 안전시설의 설치판단 기준 점수를 도출하였다. 분석결과 단일로에 비해 교차로에서 설치판단 기준 점수가 더 낮게 분석되었으며 교차로의 도로 위험도가 더 큰 것으로 분석되었다.

도로곡선반경에 따른 가변전광표지의 교통안전효과 분석 (An Analysis of Safety Impacts of Variable Message Signage as Functions of Road Curve Radius)

  • PURPOSES: The purpose of this study is to estimate the impact of variable message signage (VMS) on traffic safety as a function of road curve radius using statistical methods. METHODS: In order to analyze the impact of VMS installations on traffic safety, travel speed, lateral distance, and geometric data relating to road curvature in each study area was acquired and analyzed for the impact of providing VMS information on driver performance and traffic safety using statistical methods including student t-test, Mann-Whitney test, and the Anderson-Darling test for estimating traffic safety hazard zone in each lane. RESULTS: As a result of analyzing driver performance characteristics before and after providing VMS information, it was determined that by providing VMS information, mean travel speed is deceased and vehicles are driven with increased precision, following the centerline in the first and second lanes. Also the results of analyzing traffic safety impacts of VMS indicate that traffic safety performance factors in the first lane of the Gapyeong section can, on average, increase in the left and right side of the lane by 19.22% and 68.98%, respectively, and in the case of the second lane, safety impacts, on average, can increase in both sides by 100%. For the Hongcheon section, traffic safety impacts in the first lane, on average, can increase along the left and right sides of the lane by 32.31% and 47.18%, and within the second lane, traffic safety can be increased along the left and right side of the lane by 10.97% and -0.01%, respectively. CONCLUSIONS: Based on the results of this study, the impact on traffic safety obtained by providing VMS information for road sections with smaller curve radii is greater than can be obtained for road sections with larger curve radii.

참여 중심 어린이 교통안전교육 프로그램 효과 평가 (The Effectiveness of a Participatory Road Traffic Safety Education Program for the Elementary School Students)

  • Objectives: The purpose was to evaluate the effectiveness of participatory road safety education program for the lower grade in elementary schools. This program was developed based on the Activated Health Education model. Methods: Study design was compromise experimental group pre-post design. 456 students in 8 schools were nonrandomly assigned to study group(n=224) or control(n=232). The students finished self-administered questionnaire before and after education. Collected data was analyzed by using the SPSS. Results: 1. The common relevant factors in road safety knowledge and attitude were 'residential state' and 'experience of traffic accident'. 2. The knowledge showed that the case and control scored at 6.48 and 6.41 points before. After this intervention, the case and control scored at 8.38 and 6.51. The difference of the case was significant(p<0.001). 3. The attitude showed that the case and control scored at 19.67 and 19.63 before. After this, the case and control scored at 19.86 and 19.63. The difference of the case was significant(p<0.05). Conclusion: In order to implement the road safety education, children's socio-demographic characteristics were considered. Because this education was effective in both improving knowledge and attitude and bringing interest, various participatory program will be applied in road safety education for children.

도로 곡선부의 안전 등급화 모형에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Model for Classification of Safety in the Curved Section of Road)

  • 본 연구는 사망률이 높은 도로 곡선부를 대상으로 도로설계요소를 기반으로 안전도 판단지수를 설정하고 이로부터 사고율을 산정하는 모듈과 곡선부와 곡선부 진입전 직선부에서의 속도차를 추정하는 모형을 개발하고 이로부터 곡선부의 안전도를 판단하는 등 두 개의 모듈을 제시하고 있다. 그리고 이러한 두 개의 모듈을 통합한 통합모델을 통해 곡선부의 안전도를 등급화 할 수 있도록 하는 것을 목적으로 한다.

도로교통안전점검차량을 이용한 도로의 자동도면화 생성 연구 (The Study on an Automated Generation Method of Road Drawings using Road Survey Vehicle)

  • PURPOSES : This study is to develop a automate road mapping system using ARASEO(Automated Road Analysis and Safety Evaluation TOol) for road management. METHODS : The road survey van named ARASEO(Automated Road Analysis and Safety Evaluation TOol) was used to generate highway drawings for Korea National Road number 37 automatically. In order to generate the highway drawings for purpose of road management, it is required to acquired the information for highway alignment, road width and road facilities such as safety barrier and road sign. Therefore the survey van acquired and analyzed the road width, median and guardrail data using rear side laser sensor of ARASEO and recognized the traffic control sign and chevron sign using foreside camera images. Also the highway alignment which is the basic information for highway drawing can be analyzed by acquisition the every 1m positional and attitude data using GPU and IMU sensor and developed algorithm. Finally, in this research the CAD based drawing software was developed to draw highway drawing using the analysis result from ARASEO. RESULTS : This study showed the comparison result of the surveyed road width and drawing data. To make the drawing of the road, we made the Autocad ARX program witch run in CAD menu interface. CONCLUSIONS : Using this program we can create the road center line, every 500m horizontal and vertical ground plan drawing automatically.

곡선반경과 노면상태에 따른 곡선구간 안전주행 행태분석 (A Study on the Analysis of Safe Driving Behavior on Curve Section by Curve Radius and Road Surface Condition)

  • Two experiment are planed to identify driver's safe driving behaviour by curve radius, road surface condition in curve section. At four-lane and two-lane road, conducted experiments are check on driver's feeling of safety that 30 subjects do not feel discomfort. And using the data from these experiments, this study compare physical speed (not slipping, fall our of the road) with safety driving speed(drivers felt a comfortable and safe speed) each curve radius and fiver road surface condition(drying, wet, rain, snow and ice). As a result, safe driving behaviour factors that are derived to curve radius of 100m units, five road surface conditions enable to represent quantitative analysis of driver's discomfort. This study will develop road design method and evaluation reflected ergonomic aspects.
