This study analyzed roadkill hotspots in Yeongju, Mungyeong-si Andong-si and Cheongsong-gun to compare the method of searching the area of the spatial cluster for selecting the roadkill hotspots. The local spatial autocorrelation index Getis-Ord Gi* statistics were calculated by different units of analysis, drawing hotspot areas of 9% from 300 m and 14% from 1 km on the basis of the total road area. The rating of Z-score in the 1km hotspot area showed the highest Z-score in the 28th National Road section on the border between Yecheon-gun and Yeongj-si. The kernel density method performed general kernel density estimation and network kernel density estimation analysis, both of which made it easier to visualize roadkill hotspots than district unit analysis, but there were limitations that it was difficult to determine statistically significant priority. As a result, local hotspot areas were found to be different according to the cluster analysis method, and areas that are in common need of reduction measures were found to be the hotspot of 28th National Road through Yeongju-si and Yecheon-gun. It is deemed that the results of this study can be used as basic data when identifying roadkill hotspots and establishing measures to reduce roadkill.

The bikes are conflicted with the cars and the pedestrian at the intersection and the road with the bike crossing. To establish the bike signal at this section is one method to solve this conflict. According to the survey for the bike road status and the biker's characters which are crossing the road at the intersection, the bike crossing are established with beside the pedestrian crossing and most of the bikers are crossing the street by the pedestrian signal. Also, the bike queue which is waiting the signal change at the stop line was cleared before the closing the pedestrian signal. Considering the result of this survey, TOUCAN crossing signal type in England for bike signal at the place where the bike crossing are established with beside the pedestrian crossing, in which bike rider and pedestrian can cross by the pedestrian signal operation, is suggested. However, at the place where the bike crossing is apart from the pedestrian crossing, the bike signal which is connected to the vehicle signal is suggested. All these types of bike signals can be accepted for the present bike crossing equipments and the biker's characters and be adapted to the police standard traffic signal controller by adjusting the signal time only without any function change.

Hydrogen is emerging as a next-generation energy source and development and supply of FCEV (hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle) is expected to occur rapidly. Accordingly, measures to respond to hydrogen car accidents are required and researches on the safety of hydrogen cars are being actively conducted. In this study, In this study, we developed a hydrogen car accident scenarios suitable for domestic conditions for the safety evaluation of hydrogen car in road tunnels through analysis of existing experiments and research data and analyzed and presented the hazard distance according to the accident results of the hydrogen car accident scenarios. The accident results according to the hydrogen car accident scenario were classified into minor accidents, general fires, jet flames and explosions. The probability of occurrence of each accident results are predicted to be 93.06%, 1.83%, 2.25%, and 2.31%. In the case of applying the hydrogen tank specifications of FCEV developed in Korea, the hazard distance for explosion pressure (based on 16.5 kPa) is about 17.6 m, about 6 m for jet fire, up to 35 m for fireball in road tunnel with a standard cross section (72 m2).

The speed change lane is installed at the point where the roads are connected on the urban roads, reducing the relative speed to facilitate traffic communication. However, in the case of the speed limit of 30 km/h in accordance with the implementation of the safe speed "5030" in the city, the standard is ambiguous, and there are criticisms about the installation of the transmission lane. This study conducted a pilot study on the traffic patterns of the speed change lanes, focusing on the section where the safe speed "5030" policy was scheduled to be implemented after theoretical consideration of the speed change lanes. After on-site investigation, as a result of analyzing the traffic pattern according to the travel speed of the main road according to road conditions and traffic conditions, the effectiveness of the speed change lane according to the safety speed "5030" was analyzed. In this study, the installation criteria for speed change lane by speed were presented. The criteria is that "speed change lanes should not be installed when the speed limit is 30 km/h, and speed change lanes should be installed when the speed limit is 50 km/h." The criteria will be considered as a reference when establishing engineering standards for connection of other facilities in urban areas in the future. It is expected that unnecessary restrictions on individuals' exercise of private property rights will be minimized, smooth traffic flow and secure safety by the installation of speed change lanes and expansion of turning radius.

Korea estimates the traffic noise by measuring the total traffic noise when the traffic passes (SPB; Statistical Pass-By). Another method (CPX; Close Proximity) directly measures the tire/road noise by installing a microphone near the tire. The CPX method is not a formal test method in Korea. There has been little research between CPX and SPB. This study proposes a method for estimating SPB, using the CPX, which is easy to measure. This study used the results of a large-scale test conducted by Korea Expressway Corporation (KEC) and a research paper on CPX in this section. The results by the KEC showed that the low noise pavement has a noise reduction of 10.4dB. In CPX research, the noise reduction was 10.7dB and was similar to 10.4dB in SPB. This study shows why the noise reduction is the same regardless of the position, the reason that the amount of noise reduction is similar, the difference of the noise according to the position of the microphone using the concept of noise summation and distance reduction. This study shows that including the CPX as a variable in the traffic noise prediction program is very important to improve noise prediction reliability.

Hydrogen energy is emerging as an alternative to the depletion of fossil fuels and environmental problems, and the use of hydrogen vehicles is increasing in the automobile industry as well. However, since hydrogen has a wide flammability limit of 4 to 75%, there is a high concern about safety in case of a hydrogen car accident. In particular, in semi-enclosed spaces such as tunnels and underground parking lots, a fire or explosion accompanied by hydrogen leakage is highly likely to cause a major accident. Therefore, it is necessary to review hydrogen safety through analysis of flammability areas caused by hydrogen leakage. Therefore, in this study, the effect of the air velocity in the tunnel on the flammability area was investigated by analyzing the hydrogen concentration according to the hydrogen leakage conditions of hydrogen vehicles and the air velocity in the tunnel in a road tunnel with standard section. Hydrogen leakage conditions were set as one tank leaking and three tanks leaking through the TPRD at the same time and a condition in which a large crack occurred and leaked. And the air velocity in the tunnel were considered 0, 1, 2.5, and 4.0 m/s. As a result of the analysis of the flammability area, it is shown that when the air velocity of 1 m/s or more exists, it is reduced by up to 25% compared to the case of air velocity of 0 m/s. But there is little effect of reducing the flammability area according to the increase of the wind speed. In particular, when a large crack occurs and completely leaks in about 2.5 seconds, the flammability area slightly increases as the air velocity increases. It was found that in the case of downward ejection, hydrogen gas remains under the vehicle for a considerably long time.

This paper deals with the development of ViscoElastic Continuum Damage Finite Element Program (VECD-FEP++) and its verification with the results from both field and laboratory accelerated pavement tests. Damage characteristics of asphalt concrete mixture have been defined by Schapery's work potential theory, and uniaxial constant crosshead rate tests were carried out to be used for damage model implementation. VECD-FEP++ predictions were compared with strain responses (longitudinal and transverse strains) under moving wheel loads running at different constant speeds. To this end, an asphalt pavement section (A5) of Korea Expressway Corporation Test Road (KECTR) instrumented with strain gauges were loaded with a dump truck. Also, a series of accelerated pavement fatigue tests have been conducted at pavement sections surfaced with four asphalt concrete mixtures (Dense-graded, SBS, Terpolymer, CR-TB). Planar strain responses were in good agreement with field measurements at base layers, whereas strains at both surface and intermediate layers were found different from simulation results due to the complexity of tire-road contact pressures. Finally, fatigue characteristics of four asphalt mixtures were reasonably described with VECD-FEP++.

This study aims to investigate the characteristics and types of car accidents and establish a prediction model by analyzing 456 car accidents having occurred in the 11 tunnels in Busan, through statistical analysis techniques. The results of this study can be summarized as below. As a result of analyzing the characteristics of car accidents, it was found that 64.9% of all the car accidents took place in the tunnels between 08:00 and 18:00, which was higher than 45.8 to 46.1% of the car accidents in common roads. As a result of analyzing the types of car accidents, the car-to-car accident type was the majority, and the sole-car accident type in the tunnels was relatively high, compared to that in common roads. Besides, people at the age between 21 and 40 were most involved in car accidents, and in the vehicle type of the first party to car accidents, trucks showed a high proportion, and in the cloud cover, rainy days or cloudy days showed a high proportion unlike clear days. As a result of analyzing the principal components of car accident influence factors, it was found that the first principal components were road, tunnel structure and traffic flow-related factors, the second principal components lighting facility and road structure-related factors, the third principal factors stand-by and lighting facility-related factors, the fourth principal components human and time series-related factors, the fifth principal components human-related factors, the sixth principal components vehicle and traffic flow-related factors, and the seventh principal components meteorological factors. As a result of classifying car accident spots, there were 5 optimized groups classified, and as a result of analyzing each group based on Quantification Theory Type I, it was found that the first group showed low explanation power for the prediction model, while the fourth group showed a middle explanation power and the second, third and fifth groups showed high explanation power for the prediction model. Out of all the items(principal components) over 0.2(a weak correlation) in the partial correlation coefficient absolute value of the prediction model, this study analyzed variables including road environment variables. As a result, main examination items were summarized as proper traffic flow processing, cross-section composition(the width of a road), tunnel structure(the length of a tunnel), the lineal of a road, ventilation facilities and lighting facilities.
Since the "Low Carbon, Green Growth" as a social requirements is attracted public attention, the policies and investments of the railway which have been less estimated than road is re-considered. Since the starting the commercial service (2004. April), the KTX have been operated successfully while transport passengers over 100million for years. And also the project for development of KHST (Korea High Speed Train ; G7) had been accomplished with a good result, the first trainset of KTX-II which base on G7 project was manufactured and testing now. On the other hand, the world's technology of the high speed train is more faster, and changing to a distributed traction system. To catch up the world's leading technology, the HEMU(High-speed Electric Multiple Unit) project will secure new technology and aims to promote the technology of domestic high-speed train. The authors indicates the result of detail review such as a curve, slope of the track and electrical dead section of the catenary to test at 400kph and also the performance simulation of the developed rolling stock in this paper. As the result, the authors devise the test scenario to perform a maximum speed test (stability at max. speed, acceleration & deceleration etc) with the restricted conditions such as track length, track available time etc by considering above result.
The extensive use of prestressed reinforced concrete (PSC) highway bridges in marine environment drastically increases the sensitivity to both fatigue-and corrosion-induced damage of their critical structural components during their service lives. Within this scenario, an integrated method that is capable of evaluating the fatigue reliability, identifying a condition-based maintenance, and predicting the remaining service life of its critical components is therefore needed. To accomplish this goal, a procedure for fatigue reliability prediction of PSC highway bridges is proposed in the present study. Vehicle-bridge coupling vibration analysis is performed for obtaining the equivalent moment ranges of critical section of bridges under typical fatigue truck models. Three-dimensional nonlinear mathematical models of fatigue trucks are simplified as an eleven-degree-of-freedom system. Road surface roughness is simulated as zero-mean stationary Gaussian random processes using the trigonometric series method. The time-dependent stress-concentration factors of reinforcing bars and prestressing tendons are accounted for more accurate stress ranges determination. The limit state functions are constructed according to the Miner's linear damage rule, the time-dependent S-N curves of prestressing tendons and the site-specific stress cycle prediction. The effectiveness of the methodology framework is demonstrated to a T-type simple supported multi-girder bridge for fatigue reliability evaluation.
