Water temperature affects physical and biological processes in ecologies on river system and is important conditions for growth rate and spawning of fish species. The objective of this study is to compare models for water temperature during the summer season for the Fourchue River (St-Alexandre-de-Kamouraska, Quebec, Canada). For this, three different models, which are CEQUEAU, Auto-regressive Moving Average with eXogenous input and Nonlinear Autoregressive with eXogenous input, were applied and compared. Also, future water temperature in the Fourchue river were simulated and analyzed its result based on the CMIP5 climate models, RCP 2.6, 4.5, 8.5 climate change scenarios. As the result of the study, the water temperature in the Fourchue river are actually changed and median water temperature will increase $0.2{\sim}0.7^{\circ}C$ in June and could decrease by $0.2{\sim}1.1^{\circ}C$ in September. Also, the UILT ($24.9^{\circ}C$) for brook trout are also likely to occurred for several days.
In this study, water quality data of eight main sites in the Geumho River watershed were collected and analyzed for long-term changes in water quality over the period from 2005 to 2015. The results showed that BOD concentration was gradually improved by the Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL), stages 1 and 2. Recently, a tendency of increasing BOD concentration was observed in the downstream section of the river. The concentration of COD was analyzed to be contaminated throughout the water system regardless of the water quality improvement project, and the TN concentration tended to increase in the midstream of the river from 2013. The TP concentration has clearly decreased from 2012 after the second stage of TMDL. For the statistical analysis of PCA ordination, monthly water qualities (pH, DO, Electrical Conductivity (EC), Water Temperature (WT), BOD, COD, TN, TP, TOC, and SS) and flow rate data for 5 years from 2012 to 2016 were used. Seasonally the Geumho River showed an increase in the TN concentration at point sources during the dry season (December to February). TP showed the effect of non-point sources in the summer, because rainfall has caused a rise in flow rate in the upstream. Besides, the origin of pollution source was changed from non-point sources with BOD, COD, and TOC.
The objective of this study is to develop and evaluate simple and multiple regression models for Total Organic Carbon (TOC) concentration estimation in stream flow. For development (using water quality data in 2012) and evaluation (using water quality data in 2011) of regression models, we used water quality data from downstream of Yeongsan river basin during 2011 and 2012, and correlation analysis between TOC and water quality parameters was conducted. The concentrations of TOC were positively correlated with Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD), TN (Total Nitrogen), Water Temperature (WT) and Electric Conductivity (EC). From these results, simple and multiple regression models for TOC estimation were developed as follows : $TOC=0.5809{\times}BOD+3.1557$, $TOC=0.4365{\times}COD+1.3731$. As a result of the application evaluation of the developed regression models, the multiple regression model was found to estimate TOC better than simple regression models.
The frequent occurrence of excessive phytoplankton populations in the downstream Nakdong River has been an important water quality problem in recent years. The limnological survey of the Nakdong River was conducted from January 1997 to December 1999 on once or twice per month. A typical phenomenon of eutrophication appears with the persistent algal bloom due to high nutrients in the mid-lower part of the river. This study showed that the point at which Chl. a concentration reaches maximum was affected by the water temperature and the flow rate. For example, Chl. a concentration reached maximum after around 380, 240 and 120 hours which were estimated from the time of flow at low (${\le}10^{\circ}C$), mean ($10{\sim}20^{\circ}C$) and high (${\ge}20^{\circ}C$) water temperature conditions, respectively. It was estimated that increase coefficients of phytoplankton (Chl. a) on the water temperature are 0.201, 0.254 and $0.289\;day^{-1}$, on the contrary, decrease coefficients are -0.012, -0.128 and $-0.193\;day^{-1}$ in low, mean and high water temperature. Therefore, to prevent formation of Chl. a maximum concentration in the specific water resource, it is necessary to increase the discharge of dam as well as to decrease.

The study aims to assess the quality of bank filtrate in relation to streamflow and physico-chemical properties of the stream. Turbidity, pH, temperature and dissolved oxygen (DO) of Nakdong River and riverbank filtrate were statistically analyzed. The physico-chemical properties of riverbank filtrate were measured from irregularly different seven pumping wells every day. Autocorrelation analyses were conducted to the qualities of stream water and bank filtrated water. Temperature, pH and DO of streamflow shows strong linearity and long memory effect, indicating the effect of seasonal air temperature and rainy season. Temperature of riverbank filtrate shows weak linearity and weak memory, indicating differently from the trend of stream temperature. Turbidity of steramflow shows strong linearity and long memory effect, while turbidity of riverbank filtrate indicates weak linearity and weak memory. Cross-correlation analysis shows low relation between turbidity, pH, temperature and DO of riverbank filtrate and those of streamflow. Turbidity of streamflow was largely affected by the streamflow rate, showing a similar trend with autocorrelation function of streamflow rate. The turbidity of riverbank filtrate has a lag time of 25 hours. This indicates that turbidity of streamflow in a dry season has very low effect on the turbidity of riverbank filtrate, and a high turbidity of the stream in a rainy season has a fairly low effect on the turbidity of riverbank filtrate.
To project the effects of climate-induced change on aquatic environments, it is necessary to determine the thermal constraints affecting different fish species and to acquire time series of the current and projected water temperature (WT). Assuming that a nonlinear regression between the WT at individual stations and the ambient air temperature (AT) at nearby weather stations could represent the best relationship of air-water temperature, This study estimates future WT using a general circulation model (GCM). In addition, assuming that the grid-averaged observations of AT correspond to the AT output from GCM simulation, this study constructed a regression curve between the observations of the local WT and the concurrent GCM-simulated surface AT. Because of its low spatial resolution, downscaling is unavoidable. The projected WT under global warming scenario A2 (B2) shows an increase of about $1.6^{\circ}C$ ($0.9^{\circ}C$) for the period 2080-2100. The maximum/minimum WT shows an amount of change similar to that of the mean values. This study will provide guidelines for decision-makers and engineers in climate-induced river environment and ecosystem management.

This study aimed to analyze the impact of water curtain cultivation in the greenhouse complexes on groundwater's electric conductivity and water temperature. The greenhouse complexes are mainly situated along rivers to secure water resources for water curtain cultivation. We classified the groundwater monitoring well into the greenhouse (riverside) and field cultivation areas (plain) to compare the groundwater impact of water curtain cultivation in the greenhouse complex. The groundwater observation network in Miryang, Gyeongsangnam-do, located downstream of the Nakdong River, was selected for the study area. As a result of analyzing the electric conductivity and water temperature, the following differences were found in the observed characteristics by region. 1) The electric conductivity and water temperature of the riverside area, where the permeability is high and close to rivers, showed a constant pattern of annual changes due to the influence of river flow and precipitation. 2) The flat land in general agricultural areas showed general characteristics of bedrock observation in the case of water temperature. Still, it seemed more affected by the surrounding well's water use and water quality. The electric conductivity did not show any particular trend and was influenced by the surrounding environment according to the location of each point.

In South Korea, major public waters have been systematic management under national level. Water environment network has been continuous monitoring for change of aquatic ecosystem, river and reservoir. In Water Quality Monitoring Networks, the data have been generally monitored Per eight days or month, while in Automatic Water Quality Monitoring Network the data have been monitored at daily intervals. Therefore, we were compared and analyzed water quality data between the networks using statistic method for same water quality item. Mann-kendall test results confirm that all points in Water Temperature (WT) and DO were not statistically significant. In particular, the result revealed that there is significant variation of TOC in the four different sites, TN in two different sites, TP in three different sites, WT in seven different sites, pH in two different sites between Water Quality Monitoring Network and Automatic Water Quality Monitoring Network. As a result firm LOWESS, TOC and pH clearly shows different trend. Among different sites, the water quality show the significantly positive correlations between at Sinam-Sangju2 and Namgang-Namgang4. Negative correlation significantly appeared in TP (ADD_Lower-AD1 site), TOC (DG-SG site), pH (GR-GR site), TP (JP-CN) and TN, TP, pH, EC, DO (GC-GC2-1 site).
In The study, is to investigate the spatial characteristics of the Miho stream, which is the main tributary of the Geum River system, and to identify the main factors influencing the water quality using water quality analysis and multivariate analysis. The survey subjects were selected as 7 main sites in the Miho stream water system, From 2012 to 2017, 16 items including weather temperature and weather data were used for multivariate analysis. As a result of the water quality analysis, the average concentration of BOD and COD for 6 years was 3grade (normal) compared with the water quality environmental standard (river) of conditions. The concentrations of nitrogen and phosphorus were highest at th upstream site, then decreased and then increased again by the hydrogeological and geomorphological effect. Cluster analysis of spatial and water quality characteristics, it was evaluated as three clusters and the pollution sources is the greatest impact. As a result of principal component analysis and factor analysis on each cluster and mainstream, three to four major components were extracted. Main stream and the Cluster 1, Cluster 3 first principal factor included nitrogen and seasonal factors, first factor of Cluster 2 included nitrogen and water temperature. Nitrogen is the principal factor which affects water quality in Miho stream.
In this research, water qualities of river water and bank-filtrate were compared for six months including winter season. The location studied was Galjon area, the downstream of the Nakdong river. The well for bank-filtrate was installed 40 m apart from riverside. Main analytic results of bank-filtrate and river water were summarized as followings; the average concentrations in bank-filtrate were turbidity 0.8NTU, TN 0.4mg/l, $BOD_5$, 0.1mg/l, $KMnO_4$ consumption 1.6mg/l, heterotrophic bacteria 350cfu/ml, Fe 0.5mg/l, Mn 0.99mg/l while the average concentrations in river water were turbidity 6.1NTU, TN 3.9mg/l, $BOD_5$, 3.6mg/l, $KMnO_4$ consumption 11mg/l, heterotrophic bacteria 1,640cfu/ml, Fe 0.28mg/l, Mn 0.04mg/l. Water quality of bank-filtrate was mostly shown a good results than it of river water excepting Fe and Mn. In even basic constituents such as water temperature and pH, bank-filtrate was very settled while river water was extraordinary changable and high. In case of nitrogen, especially, total nitrogen of river water was 3.9mg/l while it of bank-filtrate was 0.4mg/l and its reduction was very high. The reason is that $NH^+_4-N$ among total nitrogen in the river water is nitrified and then denitrified in soil layer when it is pumped up as bank-filtrate. But Fe and Mn caused by the characteristics of soil was very high in bank-filtrate while Mn in river water was particularly very low and settled. As the distance between riverside and well was longer, concentration of Fe and Mn may be went up while its bacteria may be reduced.
