A Development of Integrated Risk Management Model of Large Construction Projects (건설분야 통합 리스크관리에 관한 구성 모델)

  • The results of the study include a computerized system and a systematic Process model for risk management and analysis. This study analyzes the present status of risk management in the construction industry, and then suggests reasonable methods for improved risk management plans. This study defines risk management procedures as preparation, identification, analysis, response and management to manage potential risks In the construction project. The modules for computerizing this system consist of planning, construction, application of WBS (Work Breakdown Structure) and RBS (Risk Breakdown Structure), and risk analysis. The method logy for analyzing construction risk uses fuzzy theory, and the scope of developed system is focused to the contractors. The risk management system suggested in this study operates on the Internet, for providing contractors with a useful risk management tool by online system, with web-based menus that is helpful for practical application.

  • The decommissioning of nuclear power plants should be prepared by quantitative and qualitative risk assessment. Radiological and non-radiological hazards arising during decommissioning activities must be assessed to ensure the safety of decommissioning workers and the public. Decommissioning experiences by U.S. operators have mainly focused on deterministic risk assessment, which is standardized by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory commission (NRC) and focuses only on the consequences of risk. However, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has suggested an alternative to the deterministic approach, called the risk matrix technique. The risk matrix technique considers both the consequence and likelihood of risk. In this study, decommissioning stages, processes, and activities are organized under a work breakdown structure. Potential accidents in the decommissioning process of NPPs are analyzed using the composite risk matrix to assess both radiological and non-radiological hazards. The levels of risk for all potential accidents considered by U.S. NPP operators who have performed decommissioning were estimated based on their consequences and likelihood of events.

  • The reliability assessment is performed for Pressure Control Regulator of Aircraft Fuel System using reliability procedure which consists of the reliability analysis and the Failure Modes and Effects Analysis(FMEA). The target reliability as MTBF(Mean Time Between Failure) is set to 5000hr. During the reliability analysis process, the system is categorized by Work Breakdown Structure(WBS) up to level 3, and a reliability structure is defined by schematics of the system. Since the components and parts that have been collected through EPRD/NPRD. The predicted reliability to meet mission requirements and operating conditions is estimated as 4375.9hr. To accomplish the target reliability, the components and parts with high RPN have been identified and changed by analyzing the potential failure modes and effects. By changing the configuration design of components and parts with high-risk, the design is satisfied target reliability.

  • New social risks is likely to emerge from instability of family structure, flexible of labor market, movement of globalization which is related with the post-industrial society and so on. Especially, a lot of women are exposure to not only old social risks but also new social risks. A breakdown of traditional family structure, flexible of labor market which is be followed by globalization, women's poverty and limited approaches at social security services are the representation risk which is confront to women. In this study, therefore, the social risk is recognized by breakdown of traditional family structure risk which comes from the social change, aging of population, the decrease of labor population and New Right ideology. The purpose of the study is to arrange the new welfare state at gender equality level by anglicizing about women's new social risks.

  • 절도시설과 같은 광역지역 공사 현장에서는 다양한 요인을 갖는 공종별 위험요소가 존재하고 있으나, 현장에서 이를 효율적으로 관리할 수 있는 방안의 수립이 미흡한 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 철도 관련 실무자들을 대강으로 설문조사를 실시하여 공종별 위험 요인을 도출한다. 이를 통해 RBS(Risk Breakdown Structure)를 구축하고 제시된 RBS에 의한 위험도를 산정한 후 이를 기반으로 VR시스템과의 연동 및 위험관리 체계 구축 방법론을 제시하고 있다. 따라서 현장에서의 주요 공종별 Risk 위험도를 가상환경에서 구현이 가능하므로 위험요인에 따른 시설의 직관적 파악이 가능하다. 또한 시공자들은 나타난 시각화 정보에 의한 Risk에 대비해 효율적인 공사 관리를 이행할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

  • The purpose of this study is to deduct the structural damage / work process risks factors which can be occurred during the decommissioning in the NPP containment concrete structure. To achieve these purpose, risk profile specified in the construction industry is analyzed, and the work process of NPP decommissioning and the construction project were matched based on the similarity of each works. Accordingly, human and physical risk factors are classified. Finally, the risk associated with the building structure and work process was classified as per their process activities, and risk typology explaining the disaster which put the structure, equipments, machine and workers in serious danger was developed.

Quantification of Schedule Delay Risk of Rain via Text Mining of a Construction Log (공사일지의 텍스트 마이닝을 통한 우천 공기지연 리스크 정량화)

  • Schedule delays present a major risk factor, as they can adversely affect construction projects, such as through increasing construction costs, claims from a client, and/or a decrease in construction quality due to trims to stages to catch up on lost time. Risk management has been conducted according to the importance and priority of schedule delay risk, but quantification of risk on the depth of schedule delay tends to be inadequate due to limitations in data collection. Therefore, this research used the BERT (Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers) language model to convert the contents of aconstruction log, which comprised unstructured data, into WBS (Work Breakdown Structure)-based structured data, and to form a model of classification and quantification of risk. A process was applied to eight highway construction sites, and 75 cases of rain schedule delay risk were obtained from 8 out of 39 detailed work kinds. Through a K-S test, a significant probability distribution was derived for fourkinds of work, and the risk impact was compared. The process presented in this study can be used to derive various schedule delay risks in construction projects and to quantify their depth.

  • The procedure of design for reliability which consists of reliability analysis and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis(FMEA) is established and reliability assesment is performed for the nano-satellite air-launching rocket, Mirinae II. By means of using the reliability analysis result, the feasibility to insert the Mirinae II to the target orbit for given mission time under operating environment is assessed. During the reliability analysis process, the system is categorized by Work Breakdown Structure(WBS), and reliability structure is defined by both Reliability Block Diagram(RBD) and schematics of the system. FMEA is used to determine the risk priority number of components and parts. The target reliability is satisfied by changing the design of components and parts with high-risk, hence the design for reliability to put the satellite in to the target orbit safely has been performed.
