잉크젯 헤드를 이용한 액적 토출 현상의 실험적 분석 (Experimental Analysis of Droplet Formation Process for Inkjet Printhead)

  • Jetting stability is the most important factors in inkjet printing because printing quality is totally determined by shape of the droplets on the substrate. In order to acquire stable jet, viscosity and dynamic behavior of the ink must be considered. In addition, waveform to drive the inkjet printhead is also to be controlled. In this study, the driving waveform composed of rising time, dwell time and falling time is optimized to obtain a stable jetting using drop watcher system. Also, effect of ink viscosity on jetting is experimentally investigated by changing the temperature of ink cartridge. As a result, jetted drop having uniform velocity is acquired.

가연성 해양폐기물 열분해 특성에 대한 연구 (A Study on Development of a Pyrolysis Characteristics for Combustible Ocean waste)

  • Recently environmental pollution at sea becomes serious, so every governmental organization makes its effort to solve this problem. Combustible ocean wastes as of ropes, fishing nets, and tires are usually highly polymerized compound materials. The problem of ocean waste treatment can be solved by using the pyrolysis method. Pyrolysis characteristics of ocean waste was examined to get the basic data for the production system of fuel from the ocean waste. Thermogravimetric experiment showed that residual mass rate decreases as the velocity of temperature-rising becomes lower. The pyrolysis of waste rope and fishing net occurs at 300~450$^{\circ}C $ and the waste tire does at 350~450$^{\circ}C $. Pyrolysis time is estimated about 15 to 20 minutes in the temperature range when lively act of pyrolysis temperature reached.

Numerical modeling of seawater flow through the flooding system of dry ocks

  • Numerical simulations have been carried out on the flooding system of a dry located at the south coasts of Iran. The main goals of seawater flow haracteristics in the intake channels conditions of the flooding system are imposed in the modeling. The upstream boundary condition is the tidal fluctuations of sea water level. At the downstream, the gradually rising water surface elevation in the dry described in a transient boundary condition. The numerical results are compared with available laboratory a good agreement is obtained. The seawater discharge through the flooding system and the required time to filling up the dry dock is determined at the worst case. The water current velocity and pressure on the rigid boundaries are discussed.

Downward and Upward Air Flow Effects on Fume Particle Dispersion in Laser Line Cutting of Optical Plastic Films

  • In improving laser cutting of optical plastic films for mass production of optoelectronics display units, it is important to understand particle contamination over optical film surface due to fume particle generation and dispersion. This numerical study investigates the effects of downward and upward air flow motions on fume particle dispersion around laser cut line. The simulations employ random particle sampling of up to one million fume particles by probabilistic distributions of particle size, ejection velocity and angle, and fume particle dispersion and surface landing are predicted using Basset-Boussinesq-Oseen model of low Reynolds number flows. The numerical results show that downward air flow scatters fume particles of a certain size range farther away from laser cut line and aggravate surface contamination. However, upward air flow pushes fume particles of this size range back toward laser cut line or sucks them up with rising air motion, thus significantly alleviating surface contamination.

  • In this paper, the adaptive fuzzy logic controller(AFLC) is proposed, which uses real-coding genetic algorithm showing a good performance on convergence velocity and diversity of population among evolutionary computations. The effectiveness of the proposed AFLC was demonstrated by computer simulation for speed control system of AC servo motor. As a result of simulation for the AC servo motor, it is shown the proposed AFLC has the better performance on overshoot, settling time and rising time than the PI controller which is used when tuning AFLC.

두꺼운 난류경계층 내부에 놓인 직사각형 프리즘 주위의 유동구조 (Flow Structure Around a Rectangular Prism Placed in a Thick Turbulent Boundary Layer)

  • Flow structures around a rectangular prism have been investigated by using a PIV(Particle Image Velocimetry) technique. A thick turbulent boundary layer was generated by using spires arid roughness elements. The boundary layer thickness, displacement thickness and momentum thickness were 650mm, 117.4mm and 78mm, respectively. The ratio between the model height(40mm) and the boundary layer thickness H/$\delta$, was 0.06. The Reynolds number based on the free stream velocity and the height of the model was 7.9$\times$10$^3$. The PIV measurements were performed at three different wall normal planes. Three recirculation regions at forward facing step, top of the roof and backward facing step are clearly seen and show three dimensional features. Dramatic changes of flow patterns are observed in the wake regions in the different spanwise wall normal planes. Instead of reattachment and recirculation zone, rising streamlines are depicted at the normal planes near the side wall due to the interaction with a rising horse shoe vortex. The peak of turbulent kinetic energy occurs at the separation bubble on top of the roof and the magnitude is 2.5 times higher compared with that of the wake region.

중국·북유럽 운하와 한반도 대운하 건설 (The Canal of China·Northern Europe and the Pan-Korea Grand Waterway Development)

  • 중국과 북유럽의 운하는 건설당시 시대상과 자연환경이 우리나라와 다음과 같은 점에서 매우 다르다. 우리나라 하천은 하상계수가 크고 중상류 하천들은 구배가 커서 주변지역으로부터 역과 토사가 하상에 유입·퇴적되어 유로를 변경하거나 수심을 낮게 한다. 이는 지속적인 준설작업을 필요로 하며 보와 갑문의 설치는 홍수 때 유수의 흐름을 지체시켜 범람의 원인이 되기도 한다. 그리고 지하수면의 상승 또는 하강으로 기존도시의 시설에 치명적일 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 수질 악화와 홍수시 수위상승을 유발하여 홍수 유발의 원인이 된다. 준설작업은 생태계 파괴를 초래하고 운하의 경제성 여부와 육상교통에 비하여 상대적으로 낮은 속도 문제, 운송비 절감과 이적(移積)비용과 종착지 비용 문제, 관광·레저 산업의 활성화와 과도한 개발비용 등의 문제가 있다. 운하가 아닌 단순한 관리와 정비 사업은 순차적으로 계획을 세워 추진하는 것이 보다 타당하다.

비파괴 측정법을 이용한 지연제 첨가 시멘트 페이스트의 응결 평가 (Setting Time Evaluation on Cement Paste with Retarder Using Non-Destructive Measurements)

  • 시멘트계 재료의 응결시간 제어는 초기 콘크리트 성능 확보를 위한 중요한 평가 요소 중 하나이다. 최근 평균 기온 상승으로 특정 수화물 생성 억제 및 응결시간 제어를 위한 지연제의 사용이 권장되고 있다. 비카트 침 등 관입저항 측정 시험법의 한계를 극복하기 위해 응결시점 평가를 위한 다양한 비파괴 평가 기법이 제안되고 있지만, 지연제 사용에 따른 비파괴 평가법 사용 가능성 확보를 위해서는 여전히 실험적 연구 수행이 요구되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 타타르산 지연제를 사용하여 시멘트 페이스트의 응결 지연을 유도하고, 비카트 침 시험과 함께 전기비저항과 초음파 속도 모니터링을 수행하였다. 두 비파괴 측정 결과의 상승시점 결정을 통해 시멘트 페이스트의 응결시점을 평가하고, 비카트 침 측정을 통한 초결 및 종결 시점과의 분석으로 지연제 사용에 따른 응결 지연 현상 평가 가능성을 확인하였다. 또한 전기비저항 상승시점에 대한 X선 회절 분석을 통해 타타르산 지연제 사용에 따른 수화반응 변화를 측정하고 전기비저항 측정의 응결 지연 평가에 영향을 주는 주요 수화물을 확인하였다.

경사수제 주변 흐름특성 분석에 관한 실험연구 (An Experimental Study on Flow Characteristic Around Inclined Crest Groyne)

  • 경사수제는 수위에 따라 흐름축소의 정도가 달라지기 때문에 폭이 좁은 수로나 수제설치로 인해 발생하는 수위상승으로 월류의 위험성이 있는 지점에 적용하기에 적합하다. 본 연구는 수제 선단부가 경사를 이루는 경사수제에 대한 수리실험을 수행하였다. 경사수제 실험의 주요 인자는 수제의 선단부 각도와 수심변화이며 이들 주요인자에 의한 수제주변의 유속을 LSPIV (Large Scale Particle Image Velocimetry)기법을 이용하여 측정하였다. 수제주변 흐름영역은 주흐름영역과 재순환영역으로 구분하여 분석하였다. 실험결과, 흐름중심선 변화는 환산길이에 영향이 크지 않았으나 재순환영역 폭은 환산길이가 클수록 증가하였다. 재순환영역의 길이는 환산수제길이의 약 12 $\sim$ 16배 정도 발생하였다. 주흐름영역에서의 최대유속은 상류접근유속에 1.45 $\sim$ 2.1배 내외로 수제경사에 의한 영향은 크지 않았다. 재순환영역의 역류속은 확연히 감소하는 것으로 나타나 제방부 호안에 안정된 흐름이 형성되는 것으로 나타났다.

전산화 공정을 이용한 조류제거 (The Removal of Algae by Pre-oxidation)

  • The blue-green algae which caused odor problem in the tap water are difficult to precipitate in sedimentation basin and clogged the filter void rapidly. The studies of this paper were not only oxidation, coagulation and sedimentation processes for effectively removing blue-green algae but yellow clay and polyamine for verification as coagulants aids. The results of this research are summarized as follows: Higher ozone dose(C) and longer contact time(T) were needed for a high degree of removing blue-green algae efficiency. the removal rate of blue-green algae was proportional to the $C\times T$ value. The removal percent of chlorophyll-a by sedimentation and filter without pre-ozonation was about 75% but 1 mg/L pre-ozonation could increase the removal percent of chlorophyll-a to 99% and more pre-ozonation could remove completely. Though the removal efficiency of turbidity could increased by high dose of chlorination, the dissolved organic carbon was increased. More chlorine dose from 4 to 10 mg/L dissolved organic carbon was decreased. Using yellow clay as coagulant aids increased density of floc so the settling velocity of floc become rising but polyamine could not increase settling velocity of floc though it could formated large floc.
