A Novel Ring-based Multicast Framework for Wireless Mobile Ad hoc Network

  • Multicasting is an efficient means of one to many (or many to many) communications. Due to the frequent and unpredictable topology changes, multicast still remains as challenge and no one-size-fits-all protocol could serve all kinds of needs in ad hoc network. Protocols and approaches currently proposed on this issue could be classified mainly into four categories, tree-based, meshed-based, statelessness and hybrid. In this article, we borrow the concept of Eulerian ring in graph theory and propose a novel ring-based multicast framework--Hierarchical Eulerian Ring-Oriented Multicast Architecture (HEROMA) over wireless mobile Ad hoc network. It is familiar with hybrid protocol based on mesh and tree who concentrates on efficiency and robustness simultaneously. Architecture and recovery algorithm of HEROMA are investigated in details. Simulation result is also presented, which show different level of improvements on end-to-end delay in scenario of small scale.

Dual-Polarized Annular Ring Patch Antenna for 2.4 GHz Doppler Radar

  • A 2.4 GHz dual-polarized antenna for a Doppler radar is studied. The proposed dual-polarized antenna using a stacked annular ring patch with two co-centric gap-coupled feed lines and a $90^{\circ}$ hybrid exhibits fairly good performance of 22 dB isolation at a center frequency of 2.4 GHz. Using a $90^{\circ}$ hybrid, a right-handed circular polarization for the transmitter and a left-handed circular polarization for the receiver are implemented. The gain of the designed antenna is about 0 dBi over operating frequencies. The antenna size including a ground plane is only $40{\times}40\;mm^2$.

  • New design method of small-sized 3-dB $0^{\circ}/180^{\circ}$ ring hybrid and Wilkinson power divider using both lumped elements and distributed elements are presented. At the center frequency of 900 MHz 3-dB $0^{\circ}/180^{\circ}$ ring hybrid and Wikinson power divider are designed and tested. Good agreements are obtained between measured and theoretical modeling results, and at the same time the circuit area is reduced by more than 70% compared with the discributed-type circuits.

  • In these days the hybrid interrupters are widely used for medium voltage class circuit breakers. In the design of the hybrid interrupter, the shape of the short-circuit ring is one of the most important design parameters. Recently the investigation into the phase difference between arc current and magnetic field due to the shape variation of the short circuit ring has been conducted. In this paper, the results of eddy current analyses in the hybrid interrupter and test result are presented.

부 모드 억제율이 향상된 소형 이중 링 공진 반사기 기반 하이브리드 집적 파장 가변 레이저 (Hybrid-Integrated Tunable Laser Based on Small Double-Ring Resonator with Improved Side Mode Suppression Ratio)

  • 본 논문에서는 폴리머 도파로를 이용하여 소형 이중 링 공진 반사기를 설계하고 제작하여 그 측정 결과를 분석하였다. 소형 이중 링 공진 반사기는 반경이 서로 다른 두 개의 링 공진기 구조에 의한 버니어 효과로 인해 넓은 범위의 파장가변 특성을 확인 할 수 있었다. 소형 이중 링 반사기의 삽입 손실을 줄이기 위해 도파로의 길이를 기존에 보고된 소자에 비하여 크게 줄임으로써 부 모드 억제율이 크게 향상됨을 확인 하였다. 측정결과 소형 이중 링 공진 반사기 기반 하이브리드 집적 레이저는 45 dB의 부모드 억제율을 유지하면서 단일 모드로 발진함을 확인하였다. 또한 소형 이중 링 공진 반사기 상부에 형성된 전극에 최대 30 mA의 튜닝전류를 인가하여 약 40 nm 까지의 파장가변을 확인하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 고굴절률차 폴리머 도파로를 이용하여 이중 링 공진기 가감필터(Add/Drop Filter) 반사기를 설계하고 제작하였다. 이 가감필터 반사기를 반사형 반도체 광 증폭기와 하이브리드 집적함으로써 저가형 파장가변 레이저를 제작하고 그 측정결과를 분석하였다. 이중 링 공진기 반사기는 서로 다른 반경을 가진 두 개의 링 공진기로 인하여 선택적인 반사 특성을 가지게 되며, 버니어 효과로 인하여 넓은 파장가변 특성을 가질 수 있다. 반사형 반도체 광 증폭기와 능동 정렬을 통하여 제작된 하이브리드 집적 파장가변 레이저는 26 dB의 부 모드 억제율과 0.03 nm의 선폭을 가지며 단일 모드로 발진하였다. 또한 25 mA의 전류를 이중 링 공진기 가감필터 반사기 상부에 형성된 전극에 인가하여 총 17 nm의 파장가변을 측정하였으며, 파장가변 과정에서 부 모드 억제율은 일정하게 유지됨을 확인하였다.

25-Gb/s Optical Transmitter with Si Ring Modulator and CMOS Driver

  • We present a 25-Gb/s optical transmitter composed of a Si ring modulator and CMOS driver circuit. The Si ring modulator is realized with 220-nm Si-on-insulator process and the driver circuit with 65-nm CMOS process. The modulator and the driver are hybrid-integrated on the printed circuit board with bonding wires. The driver is designed so that the parasitic bonding wire inductance provides enhanced driver bandwidth. The transmitter successfully demonstrates 25-Gb/s operation.

A New Type of CPPM Machine with Stator Axial Magnetic Ring

  • This paper proposes a new type of consequent-pole permanent-magnet (CPPM) machine with stator axial magnetic ring that increases torque capability over a wide speed range and enhances efficiency for the built-in rare-earth permanent magnet synchronous machine used in new energy vehicles. The excitation winding of the CPPM hybrid excitation synchronous machine in the stator is replaced by ferrite magnetic ring to simplify the structure and manufacturing process of the machine. The basic structure and magnetic regulation principle of the proposed machine are introduced and compared with the traditional interior rare-earth permanent magnet synchronous machine and CPPM hybrid excitation synchronous machine. Finally, experimental results of a new type of CPPM synchronous motor prototype with axial magnetic ring are introduced in the paper.

  • This paper presents an optimum design of rotor-bearing system using a hybrid method to compute the solutions of optimization problem. The present hybrid algorithm namely Enhanced Artificial Life Algorithm(EALA), is a synthesis of an artificial life algorithm(ALA) and the random tabu search(R-tabu) method. We applied EALA to the optimum design of rotor-shaft system supported by the floating ring journal bearings. we will propose the optimum shape of rotor, position and shape of bearings. Through this study, we investigate the reliability and usefulness of EALA.
