지오그리드로 보강된 철도노반 쇄석기층의 지지력에 관한 연구 (Bearing Capacity of Geogrid-Reinforced Railroad Ballast)

  • The selection of geogrid types for the use of reinforced rail roadbed is important in the design of railways. Also, the problem of the construction damage on the geogrid during construction is raised by the field engineers. Therefore, laboratory model tests were peformed to investigate the efficiency of the bearing capacity and construction damage. As a result, it was found that the bearing capacity of the rigid geogrid reinforced railroad ballast shows 1.54 times higher than that of the flexible geogrid reinforced case. In addition, there were no noticeable damage during construction.

Time effect of pile-soil-geogrid-cushion interaction of rigid pile composite foundations under high-speed railway embankments

  • Centrifuge model tests were used to simulate pile-raft composite foundation and pile-geogrid composite foundation with different pile spacing for researching the time effect of negative skin friction of rigid piles in high-speed railways. The research results show that the negative skin friction has a significant impact on the bearing capacity of composite foundation. Pile-raft composite foundation has higher bearing capacity compared to pile-geogrid composite foundation to reduce the effect of negative skin friction on piles. Both the foundation settlement and negative skin friction have significant time effect. The distribution of skin friction can be simplified as a triangle along the pile. The neutral point position moves deeper in the postconstruction stage at larger pile spacing. For pile-geogrid composite foundation, the setting of pile-cap affects the position of neutral point in the post-construction stage. Reinforced cushion with geotextile may promote the better performance of cushion for transmitting the loads to piles and surrounding soils. Arching effect in the cushion of the composite foundation is a progressive process. The compression of the rigid piles contributes less than 20% to 25% of the total settlement while the penetration of the piles and the compression of the bearing stratum below the pile tips contribute more than 70% of the total settlement. Some effective measures to reduce the settlement of soils need to be taken into consideration to improve the bearing capacity of pile foundation.

  • Geogrid may be damaged during its installation in the filed. The installation damage mainly depends on two factors, which are materials used and construction activities. Materials relate to geogrid and soils, and construction activities are mainly related to installation of geogrid and compaction of soils. This paper describes the results of a series of field tests, which were conducted to assess the installation damage of the various geogrids according to different fill materials. After field installation damage tests, the change in tensile strength of geogrids was determined from wide width tensile tests using both damaged and undamaged specimens.

문헌조사에 근거한 부직포 보강토옹벽의 거동에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Deformation Behavior of Nonwoven Geotextiles Reinforced Soil Walls Based on Literature Reviews)

  • 이 논문에서는 부직포로 보강된 옹벽의 거동에 대한 이해를 돕기 위해 문헌연구를 통해 부직포의 하중-인장특성과 흙-보강재 경계면에서의 마찰특성, 실내모형실험 및 현장사례 등을 분석하였다. 분석결과 부직포는 구속압에 비례하여 강성과 인장강도가 증가하고, 흙-보강재 경계면에서의 전단강도는 지오그리드보다 큰 것으로 나타났다. 모형보강토옹벽 실험결과 부직포로 보강된 옹벽의 재하초기 변형은 지오그리드로 보강된 옹벽보다 크나 어느 시점을 지나면 지오그리드로 보강된 옹벽보다 작게 나타났다. 사례분석결과 부직포로 보강된 보강토옹벽이 영구 구조물로 사용되기 위해서는 전면벽체의 강성이 충분히 커야하고, 선 보강토체 후 일체형 현장 타설 콘크리트 전면벽체 구축시스템에 의해 옹벽을 구축할 경우 보강재로 부직포, 뒤채움재로 현지발생 불량토의 활용이 가능하고, 연약지반상에도 적용이 가능한 것으로 나타났다.

  • 지오그리드 보강재는 여러 토구조물에 널리 적용되어진다. 일반적으로 보강토 기초의 극한지지력은 강소성이론 이나 한계평형이론에 의하여 설명된다. 강소성이론 이나 한계평형이론에서는 보강재 또는 기초지반에 발생되는 파괴변형이나 변형율에 대하여 정확한 해석을 얻을 수 없다. 본 논문에서는 연약층위의 보강토 기초지반에 대하여 수치해석방법을 이용하여 자세한 파괴변형거동에 대하여 조사하였다. 보강재의 개수, 길이, 깊이 등을 포함하여 연약층위의 보강토 기초에 대하여 일련의 수치해석을 수행하였다. 유한요소프로그램을 사용하여 보강토기초에 대한 파괴거동 및 지지력의 향상효과에 대한 유효성이 조사되었다.

보강재 연결 유.무에 따른 보강토옹벽의 보강효과 (Improved Effects of Reinforced Wall with Types of Connection Methods)

  • 본 연구에서는 보강토 구조물에 이용되는 지오그리드와 국내에 많이 분포하고 있는 화강풍화토를 대상으로 하여, 보강재의 포설깊이가 동일한 상태에서 보강재의 길이를 벽체높이의 0.465배, 0.685배, 0.9배로 설치하여 보강재가 전면벽체에 정착된 경우와 비정착된 경우에 대하여 모형실험을 실시하였다. 모형실험결과, 정착된 경우에는 보강재의 길이가 증가함에 따라 지지력은 무보강인 경우 보다 약 1.725~2.1배 증가함을 알 수 있었으며, 침하량도 약 20%이상의 감소율을 보였다. 전면 벽체의 최대 수평변위량은 무보강에 비해 약 80%이상의 감소율을 보였다. 비정착된 경우에도 무보 강인 경우보다 지지력이 약 1.7배이상 증가하였으며, 전면벽체의 최대 수평변위는 약 50%이상 감소하였다. 모형실험을 통해 고찰한 파괴면은 Bchlosser 등(1979)의 연구결과와 유사하게 나타났다.

Settlement behavior and controlling effectiveness of two types of rigid pile structure embankments in high-speed railways

  • In this study, a series of geotechnical centrifugal tests were conducted to investigate the effectiveness of settlement control of two types of rigid pile structure embankments (PRSE) in collapsible loess under high-speed railway embankments. The research results show that ground reinforcement is required to reduce the post-construction settlement and settlement rate of the embankments. The rigid pile structure embankments using rigid piles can substantially reduce the embankment settlement in the construction of embankments on collapsible loess, and the efficiency in settlement reduction is affected by the pile spacing. The pile-raft structure embankments (PRSE) have much stronger ability in terms of the effectiveness of settlement control, while the pile-geogrid structure embankments (PGSE) provides rapid construction as well as economic benefits. Rational range of pile spacing of PRSE and PGSE are suggested based on the requirements of various railways design speeds. Furthermore, the time effectiveness of negative skin friction of piles and the action of pile-cap setting are also investigated. The relevant measures for improving the bearing capacity and two parts of transition zone forms as positive control mean have been suggested.

콘크리트궤도용 강성보강노반의 시공 중 거동에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Behavior during Constructing of Rigid Reinforced Roadbed to apply for the Slab Track)

  • In this paper, Rigid Reinforced Roadbed(RRR) which is expected to have highly applicability to railroad roadbed, was introduced and field tests results were analyzed. Full scale model with 5m height concerning a single track railroad roadbed was constructed. The model had four different sections, which was to assess the effect of geogrid length, spacing, and connection method on deformation characteristics of RRR. Laser displacement meter, earth pressure cell, piezometer, and strain gauge were installed in order to analyze the behavior of reinforced embankment during construction. Horizontal displacements caused by compaction at each section were 20~30% below the displacement limit that of general reinforced retaining wall, which showed that RRR was very stable structure. Maximum tensile strength of reinforcement was withing 10% of the long-term design strength.

전면판의 연속성이 보강토체의 안정성에 미치는 영향 (The Role of Wall Facing on the Stability of Reinforced Soil Wall)

  • A small scale model reinforced soil wall was constructed in a laboratory to investigate role of the wall facing and the effect of construction sequence on the wall. A panel type facing system and a block facing system are introduced for test. These two different types of facing adapt different construction procedure. The model wall is built with geogrid reinforcement, sand, and the facings on rigid surface. The model wall is instrumented with earth pressure gauges, LVDTs, and strain gauges. It is found in this study that the reinforced soil wall system built with geogrids and panel type facing system be the safest reinforced soil wall ever compared to the block type facing. Thus, it is recommended that study for the wall system be necessary for further wide usage in the future.
