The purpose of this research is to find out the effects of music therapy activities using preferred music on job stress, work engagement and flourishing of reporters in broadcasting company. The study targets 51 reporters in S city, with the experimental group consisting of 20 reporters from A broadcasting company and the control group composed of 31 reporters from A newspaper company. The experimental group voluntarily listened to preferred music at least three times a day for two weeks, while the control group did not perform any activities. For data analysis, the job stress scale, work engagement scale, and flourishing scale scores of each group were collected right before and after the experiment, and the results of the analysis were as follows. First, the experimental group's job stress decreased, and significant score differences were also shown in comparison with the control group. Second, work engagement also increased by a noticeable difference. Third, in the case of flourishing, the after experiment's average value rose slightly, but the difference was not statistically significant. In conclusion, this research offered implications for the need for a music therapy activity program to recover from reporters' job stress circumstances and discussed the need for further research.

This study is aimed to inspect how the different sensitivities in Behavioral activation system (BAS) and Behavioral inhibition system (BIS) modulate on the properties of physiological responses stimulated by positive or negative affective sound. We measured the electroencephalogram (EEG) of 32 students, consisted of four groups depending on the BAS and BIS sensitivities, during listening to meditation music or noise. The EEG was recorded at Fp1 and Fp2 sites. After listening to music or noise, subjects reported the affect induced by the sound. For EEG, the power in the alpha band at Fp2, especially in the alpha-2 band (9.0-11.0 Hz) increased during the subjects listening to music, while the power at Fp1 increased during noise. During listening to meditation music, there is a tendency that the left-sided activation in prefrontal cortex (PFC) is positively correlated with the difference of BAS(Z)-BIS(Z). During listening to noise, there is a tendency that the right-sided activation in PFC is dominant in case any of the sensitivity of BAS or BIS is high. From these results we suggest that the physiological responses of different individuals in BAS and BIS react differently under the same emotionally provocative challenge.
This study of a music therapy program for the 18 subjects residing in Jeollanam-do province was conducted two times per week during 4 months totalling 17 times in order to evaluate the reduction of the characteristics of patients suffering from stress disorder patients such as depression, and anxiety, Though the experiment for non-symmetric level the concentration and appearance of Alpha wave were determine to be stable but the findings from non-symmetric level according to the left-right brain activity were not significant for T-test, though its effective intermission of music therapy due to variation of the mean values was demonstrated, and the variation of the Alpha wave appearance rate was also significant for the statistics of the T-test for the effectiveness of the music therapy. And for the reduction of depression, emotion, and state-trait anxiety between groups divided into the control group and the experiment, pre-measurement and post-measurement comparisons through psychological tess, validated the effectiveness of music therapy for Posttraumatic stress disorder patients. First of all, this study was conducted in the situation of scarce study cases and program developments for the efficacy of music therapy for the patients suffering from Posttraumatic stress disorders without precedent studies of scientific identification through brain wave measurement. Because this study is insightful in the context of validating the efficacy of musical treatment, we expect that these kinds of studises will be continued.

The purpose of the present study is to provide exercises, together with music, that are helpful for elderly people's balancing ability, and to determine their effects in order to provide data for the promotion of elderly persons' health. Thirty elderly persons were randomly assigned to a balance training group(BTG) of 15 subjects, or a music and balance training group (music therapy + balance training [MTBTG]) of 15 subjects; intervention was implemented three times per week for six weeks. To measure the changes in their balancing ability before and after the experiment, the limit of stability, the "Timed Up and Go"(TUG) test, and the Berg Balance Scale (BBS) were measured. Changes in the limit of stability before and after the experiment were shown to be significant in both the BTG and the MTBTG. Changes in the limit of stability of the right side before and after the experiment showed statistically significant differences between the BTG and the MTBTG. Changes in the TUG test and the BBS before and after the experiment were shown to be statistically significant in both the BTG and the MTBTG. The application of music during balance training thus is considered to have a positive effect on elderly persons' balancing ability.
The sound of digital media would be able to perform communication by stimulating body's senses. Because the sound stimuli could arouse a person into the physiological excitement and sensitivity, which appear as the changes of heartbeat, blood pressure, brain waves(EEG) signals. In this paper, we would like to examine whether the game music mixed with relaxing white noises has an effect to relax game player or not through the EEG changes of game players. For the experiment, we divided game players into group A that plays game while hearing game music mixed with white noises, and group B that plays game while hearing game music not mixed. And we measured the EEG changes of the prefrontal lobe between two groups. The result shows that the game music mixed with white noises has an relaxing effect for the left brain, but fall short of the expectations for the right brain. It would be a basic research which will contribute to the development of serious games for psychotherapy using relaxing white noises.

The purpose of this study was to demonstrate the effect of music therapy as a nursing intervention on changes in recovery of consciousness and vital signs for postoperative patients in the recovery room. The subject for this study were fifty three of postoperative patients who were transferred from the OR to the RR at Kwangju Christian Hospital in Kwangju City. Thirty of them were assigned to the experimental group, and twenty three, to the control group. The age of the subject was between twenty and sixty years of age. The subject had a general anesthesia without any special complications, and they were not completely awake. The data were collected for six months from July 1999 to February 2000. The method used was to compare the condition of the subjects in each group at the beginning and at certain times repeatedly. The features observed were the level of consciousness, the frequency of complaints of pain, and vital signs of the subject before and 15 minutes, 30 minutes, and 60 minutes after hearing their favorite music for 30 minutes. The results are as follows 1. The recovery of consciousness was revealed through significant changes in facial expression, facial color, and grip strength in the experimental group more strongly than in the control group. No significant changes were shown in verbal order. The differences in recovery of consciousness in the pre-post music therapy between the two groups was not significant in verbal order, facial expression, or grip strength. However, significant changes were seen in facial color. 2. There were no significant differences between the two groups in changes in the frequency of pain complaints after music therapy. However, a significant difference was shown in the pre-post music therapy scres. 3. Vital signs did not show a significant difference between the two groups. However, the $SPO_2$ of the experimental group was significantly elevated after 60 minutes. The difference pre-post to the music therapy in the vital signs between two groups was significant only in body temperature. This study showed that the effect of music therapy given to postoperative patients is that it promotes changes in facial expression, facial color, and grip strength helping recovery of consciousness, stabilizing vital signs, elevating levels of $SPO_2$. and reducing complaints of pain. It is recommended that if the patient wants it music therapy be given right after surgery in the recovery room as a nursing intervention.
This study aimed to determine the effects of Rhythmic Auditory Stimulation (RAS) using music and a metronome on the gait of stroke patients. 13 female and 15 male volunteers were randomly allocated to two groups: namely a group to receive RAS using music and a metronome group (the experimental group; $n_1=14$) and a group to receive RAS using a metronome only (the control group; $n_2=14$). The affected side was the left side in 15 subjects and the right side in 13 subjects. The mean age of the subjects was 56.6 years, and the mean onset duration of stroke was 8.6 months. Intervention was applied for 30 minutes per session, once a day, 5 times a week for 4 weeks. To measure the patients' gait improvement, we measured gait velocity, cadence, stride length, double limb support using GAITRite, body center sway angle using an accelerometer, and Timed Up-and-Go test. Functional Gait Assessment were conducted before and after the experiment. The paired t-test was used for comparisons before and after the interventions in each group. Analysis of covariance was used for comparisons between the groups after the interventions. Statistical significance was set at ${\alpha}=.05$. Within each of the two groups, significant differences in all of the dependent variables before and after the experiment (p<.05) were observed. However, in the comparison between the two groups, the experimental group showed more significant improvements in all dependent variables than the control group (p<.05). Our results also suggest that in applying RAS in stroke patients, the combination of music and a metronome is more effective than using a metronome alone in improving patients' gait.
This study is aimed to suggest some of the right directions for young children's music education in the future. For the purpose, we sampled 265 domestic theses and dissertations that were written over the past three decades between 1985 and 2015, which were analyzed by period of time, content, method and subjects. As for data analysis, statistical data on total frequency and percentage were obtained. The results were as follows: First, the largest number of the studies were implemented during the period from 2007 to 2010, and there was a rapid increase in the number of the dissertations. Second, in terms of the content of research, the biggest number of the studies were concerned about western music teaching methods and integrated teaching methods. The third most common research method was quantitative research. Specifically, experimental research was most prevalent. Fourth, regarding subjects, five-year-old preschoolers were the most common subjects. This study is of significance in that it provides basic information on the management of the Nuri curriculum and music education for young children.
Real estate and artworks were considered challenging investment targets for individual investors because of their relatively high average transaction price despite their long investment history. Recently, the so-called fractional investment, generally known as investing in a share of the ownership right for real-life assets, etc., and most investors perceive that they actually own a piece (fraction) of the ownership right through their investments, is gaining popularity. Founded in 2016, Musicow started the first service that allows users to invest in copyright fees related to music distribution. Using the LSTM algorithm, one of the deep learning algorithms, this research predict the price of right to participate in copyright fees traded in Musicow. In addition to variables related to claims such as transfer price, transaction volume of claims, and copyright fees, comprehensive indicators indicating the market conditions for music copyright fees participation, exchange rates reflecting economic conditions, KTB interest rates, and Korea Composite Stock Index were also used as variables. As a result, it was confirmed that the LSTM algorithm accurately predicts the transaction price even in the case of fractional investment which has a relatively low transaction volume.

In this research, a mono-to-stereo upmixing algorithm based on music source separation is proposed. For the upmixing, a harmonic and percussive separation for jazz music is implemented. Then, the sources are re-panned by equalizing the loudness of left and right sides of listeners in the one proposed approach. In the other approach, the harmonic sources are spread by a decorrelator while the percussive sources are panned to the center. In the experiments, the re-panning algorithm showed advanced performance in terms of localization and timbral quality.
