  • Mitogen activated protein kinase (MAPK) are known to get activated during various stress signals and transduce the message from the cell membrane to the nucleus for appropriate cellular reorganization. Though, a certain basal activity of MAPK is often observed in the control plants. Prolonged exposure of rice plants to lowered or elevated temperature exhibited a rhythm in the activation of MAPKs. We analyzed existence of a possible endogenous rhythm in the activity of MAPKs in rice plants. The plants growing at constant temperature entrained in 16/8 h day-night cycle showed diurnal rhythm in activity. When the activation of MAPK was tested under continuous conditions by shifting plants to continuous darkness for a period of 72 h, the periodic rhythm persisted and followed a circadian pattern. Analysis of the transcripts of group A, B and C members of MAPKs under above conditions by quantitative real time PCR revealed that the members of group C exhibit periodic rhythm. Our data indicates that the MAP kinase activity in rice follows rhythmic expression in a circadian manner.

  • Premature Ventricular Contraction(PVC) arrhythmia is most common abnormal-heart rhythm that may increase mortal risk of a cardiac patient. Thus, it is very important issue to identify the specular portraits of PVC pattern especially from the patient. In this paper, we propose a new method to extract the characteristics of PVC pattern by applying K-means machine learning algorithm on Heart Rate Variability depicted in Poinecare plot. For the quantitative analysis to distinguish the trend of cluster patterns between normal sinus rhythm and PVC beat, the Euclidean distance measure was sought between the clusters. Experimental simulations on MIT-BIH arrhythmia database draw the fact that the distance measure on the cluster is valid for differentiating the pattern-traits of PVC beats. Therefore, we proposed a method that can offer the simple remedy to identify the attributes of PVC beats in terms of K-means clusters especially in the long-period Electrocardiogram(ECG).

  • All living organisms have a biological clock that orchestrates every biological process and function, and this internal clock operates following a circadian rhythm. This biological clock is known to influence various clinical indicators such as blood pressure and body temperature. Also, the fluctuation of signs and symptoms of diseases including pain disorders are affected by circadian rhythm. It has been reported that the pain intensity of various somatic and neuropathic pain disorders show unique pain patterns that depend on the passage of time. The generation of pain patterns could be explained by extrinsic (e.g., physical activity, tactile stimulation, ambient temperature) and also intrinsic factors (neural and neuroendocrine modulation) that are related to the circadian rhythm. It is important to recognize and identify the individual pain pattern in pain therapy to approve treatment outcome. Moreover, chronotherapeutics which considers pain patterns and pharmacokinetics in context of the circadian rhythm could produce greater analgesia in response to medication. However, only a limited number of studies handle the issue of pain patterns according to circadian rhythm and chronotherapeutics in the orofacial region. The present review intends to reflect on the most recent and relevant data concerning the bidirectional relation between pain disorders of the orofacial region and circadian patterns.

  • In Korean, it has been well Down that vowel length plays an important role in differentiating word meanings. But the distinction between long and short vowels is often ignored by young generation. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the change in rhythm patterns. In addition, it is also examined whether this change has resulted in the differences in prosodic features between young and old groups. This study is based on H. B. Lee's 'rhythm pattern theory' Based on his assumption, it is suggested that the loss of original vowel length has caused the place of accent to move from the first to the second syllable.

This study analyzes the phenomenon in which the Dembow rhythm and the tresillo rhythm, one of the rhythms of the Third World music, are concentrated in third-generation idol music, and notes that a certain number of combinations appear in rhythms and melodies. Moreover, this study identifies and compares the origin, the structure and the application cases of the Dembow rhythm and the tresillo rhythm by analyzing 12 songs of Korean third-generation idol girl groups. A game, as a sort of media like a movie, may be subjected to an ambivalent evaluation in accordance with the quality of each content. In this regard, it is necessary to have an active discussion about which game has desirable contents. Emotion which is an influential factor on interaction among players in game design needs to be approached from a social perspective. Also, based on social emotions associated with players, a significant relationship between emotional vocabularies and game emotions should be understood in comparison with social emotions within the game. based on social emotions regarding players As a result, social emotions within the game exhibited differences from the meaning of the terms. It is supposed that this result was caused by the ethical standards and differences in the real world. Accordingly, for qualitative enhancement of games, it is required to utilize the contents of this study, since emotions within the game are based on social emotions regarding players.
