PNF 하지 패턴 중 동적반전(dynamic reverse) 기법이 퇴행성 슬관절염 환자의 균형능력에 미치는 영향 (Effect on Balance Ability of Knee Osteoarthritis by Lower Extremity Patterns with dynamic reverse in Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation)

  • Purpose : The main purpose of this study was to investigate the effect on Balance Ability of Knee Osteoarthritis(OA) by Lower Extremity Patterns with dynamic reverse in Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation(PNF). Methods : The subjects were consisted of 30 women patients with knee OA. All subjects were randomly assigned to PNF group. Each group had a treatment for 30 minutes per day and three times a week during 8 weeks period. Was used to measure recovery or worse of patient's condition, muscle assessment questionnaire(MAQ) was used to measure patient' s muscular strength, Endurance, coordination/balance, KWOMAC was used to pain, stiffness, and physical function, and BPM was used to measure path, anterior-posterior. Results : This study results in following conclusons. 1. MAQ score was significantly decreased in PNF group(p<.05). 2. KWOMAC score was significantly decreased in PNF group(p<.05). 3. BPM were score was significantly decreased in PNF group(p>.05). Conclusion : From this result the PNF treatment retrogression characteristic will be effective in treatment of patient, with the arthritis and widely may be applied at a therapist.

전력망 연동형 해수담수화 플랜트의 운영비용 절감효과 (The Cost Reduction Effect of Gridable Sea Water Reverse Osmosis Desalination Plant)

  • A novel concept of the gridable desalination plant is to provide an operation management to enable an electricity plant operation cost reduction. Adjusting recovery rate responded to electricity price, an electricity plant operation cost can be saved. To show a suggested approach, the data of 10 [MIGD](Million Imperial Gallons per Day) SWRO testbed are used. The result shows that total cost reduction rate is calculated about 1.6[%] of annual total electric plant operation cost.

Delay Performance Analysis of the NAK-based SR-ARQ Protocol with the Reverse Acknowledgment (RA) Scheme

  • The reverse acknowledgment (RA) scheme supports a fast loss recovery for negative acknowledgment (NAK)-based selective repeat automatic repeat request (SR-ARQ) by detecting a retransmission failure quickly before a retransmission timer expires. In this paper, we evaluate the performance of a NAK-based SR-ARQ protocol with the RA scheme and compare it with the conventional NAK-based SR-ARQ protocol. Particularly, we propose a simple analysis model for the transport delay of the NAK-based SR-ARQ protocol considering the traffic condition, the retransmission persistence, the timer-based retransmissions and the RA scheme's behavior. Both NAK-based SR-ARQ protocols with and without the RA scheme are implemented by using the OPNET simulator. We verified the analysis model's accuracy through the simulation results. Also, we evaluate the performance of the NAK-based SR-ARQ protocol with the RA scheme based on analysis and simulation results.

Development of a Virus Elution and Concentration Procedure for Detecting Norovirus in Cabbage and Lettuce

  • In this study, a rapid and efficient concentrating procedure that can be used for detecting viruses in vegetables was developed. The Sabin strain of poliovirus type 1 was used to evaluate the efficiency of virus recovery. The procedure included: (a) elution with 0.25 M threonine-0.3 M NaCl pH 9.5; (b) polyethylene glycol (PEG) 8000 precipitation; (c) chloroform extraction; (d) 2$^{nd}$ PEG precipitation; (f) RNA extraction; (g) reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) combined with semi-nested PCR. The overall recoveries by elution/concentration were 29.0% from cabbage and 13.7% from lettuce. The whole procedure usually takes 18 hr. The overall detection sensitivity was 100 RT-PCR units of genogroup II norovirus (GII NoV)/25 g cabbage and 100 RT-PCR units of GII NoV/10 g lettuce. The virus detecting method developed in this study should facilitate the detection of low levels of NoV in cabbage and lettuce.

  • Shape memory alloys(SMAs) exhibit pseudoelastic behavior, characterized by the recovery of an original shape even after severe deformation, during loading and unloading within appropriate temperature regimes. The distinctive mechanical behavior is associated with stress-induced transformation of austenite to martensite during loading and reverse transformation to austenite upon unloading. To develop a material model for SMAs, it is imperative to consider the difference in moduli of active phases. For example, the Young’s modulus of the martensite is one-third to one half of that of the austenite. The model proposed herein is a modification of the one proposed recently by Ho[17]. The prediction of the behavior of SMAs during unloading before the onset of reverse transformation was improved by introducing a new internal state variable incorporating the variation of the elastic modulus.

  • Many countries, including Korea, suffer from a shortage of freshwater. With increases in population and the quality of life, along with large-scale expansion in industrial and agricultural activities, more freshwater is needed. Available resources, Including ground water, are limited, and desalination presents the opportunity for a new unlimited source of freshwater from the sea. The objectives of this study were to test membrane performance in seawater desalination and to examine the quality of water produced. bath well and sea water were used as water sources. Typically used membrane for seawater desalination and high rejection seawater desalination membrane are maintained at almost same recovery rate and permeate flux, while the conductivity was lower in the operation of typically used seawater membrane. The treated water quality using two types of membranes is satisfied with the Korea drinking water quality standards.

  • The thyristor turn-off model plays an important part in the design of thyristor snubber circuit. However, it is difficult to determine the thyristor turn-off characteristics. In this paper two methods to establish the simple thyristor turn-off model are proposed based on the reverse recovery characteristics given in the data sheets. Using the simple thyristor turn-off model, the optimum thyristor snubber circuit design procedures are presented considering maximum voltage spike, maximum reverse dv/dt, and turn-off loss.

매립지내 환경에너지단지의 무방류 시스템 구축방안 (Construction Method of Zero Discharge System for Environmental Energy Complex in Landfill)

  • A research was performed for zero discharge system of waste water which is produced from energy recovery process of waste and biomass. Leachate and all kinds of waste water should be separated and integrated into three categories in addition to converting existing leachate treatment facility into waste water treatment facility as well as introducing a management system of reverse osmosis membrane facility and bioreactor landfill. Following these conditions to better water treatment process, it was likely to produce over 3,000 tons of low-grade recycling water and 2,000 tons of high-grade recycling water per day when zero discharge system of waste water is applied starting from 2016. Economical efficiency was also surveyed in total treatment fee. Present system costs 18,129 million won per year, and suggested zero discharge system would cost 15,789 million won per year.

  • 에너지 회수장치는 역삼투 공정에서 에너지 소모량을 줄이기 위해 사용된다. 그러나 해수담수화 시장에서 소규모 에너지 회수장치(<$100m^3/d$)를 찾기는 쉽지 않다. 우리나라에서 음용수 생산을 위한 역삼투 해수담수화 시설은 대부분 도서지역이나 선박에서 소규모로 운영되고 있다. 즉, 국내에는 소규모 에너지 회수장치 수요가 잠재하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 고압펌프의 현실적인 효율과 국내 전력비 단가 등을 고려하여, 소규모 역삼투 공정의 에너지 소모량을 에너지 회수장치의 적용 여부 및 설치 장소(예: 육상, 도서, 선박)에 따라 비교 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 에너지 회수장치 적용 시 전력비는 1,914.1원/$m^3$ 까지 절감될 수 있고 소규모 시설과 선박에서는 절감효과가 증가되는 것을 확인하였다. 소규모 역삼투 담수화 시설이 대부분을 차지하는 국내 현실과 규모가 작아질수록 에너지 회수장치에 대한 전력비 절감효과가 커지는 본 연구의 결과를 고려한다면, 소규모 에너지 회수장치의 개발 필요성이 크다고 할 수 있다.

  • Classical membrane processes like microfiltration (MF), ultrafiltration (UF) and reverse osmosis (RO) are being applied in the last years more frequently in environmental and effluent process problems. Newer technologies and developments like pervaporation (PV) and gas sepaxation (GS) recently found commercial applications in the treatment of waste waters and gas streams. The incentive here is either the clean-up from organic components to comply with federal emission regulations or the recovery of the organics for economical reasons. Processes still in their development stage are combinations of chemical reactions with membrane processes to separate and treat $SO_x$ and $NO_x$ laden waste gas streams in the clean-up of stack-gases. In this paper we will first give a short overview of the more recent developments in MF, UF and RO. This is followed by a closer look on newer technologies applied in environmental problems. The applications looked at are the recovery of organic components from solvent laden gas streams and the separation of organic volatiles from aqueous waste waters via pervaporation. Technical solutions, the advantages and disadvantages of the processes and. where possible, cost estimations will be presented.
