This study attempted to make evaluation model of deterioration for the rural house. defined the deterioration of rural house as the two categories. First is the physical deterioration which is affected by physical faults and the second is the social deterioration which is affected by change of environments. As a results, physical deterioration model was developed by types of rural house, and social deterioration model was considered to reverse function of satisfaction of a resident.

In this paper, we experiment image warping and morphing. In image warping, we use radial basis functions : Thin Plate Spline, Multi-quadratic and Gaussian. Then we obtain the fact that Thin Plate Spline interpolation of the displacement with reverse mapping is the efficient means of image warping. Reflecting the result of image warping, we generate two examples of image morphing.

Flavonoids are mainly contained in the vegetables and medicinal herbs. Until now, over 5,000 kinds of flavonoid have been identified and their biological activities have been reported. Among them, we are interested in oroxylin A and spinosin because of their specific structures having bulky group at C-6 of ring A. Oroxylin A is contained in the Scutellaria baicalensis and exhibits cognitive enhancing activity as a GABA_A receptor antagonist, which is different from those of mainly contained in the S. baicalenis, baicalein or wogonin. Spinosin is isolated from Zizyphus jujuba var. spinosa and mainly studied as a hypnotic or anxiolytic agent because of traditional knowledge about its original herb. As far as we know, the cognitive function of spinosin was first identified by our group. In this review, we discuss how such flavonoids exert their pharmacological activities associated with cognitive function based on the receptor binding study and behavioral studies. Traditional knowledge and reverse pharmacology may be addressed in the research field of phytochemical pharmacology and useful to unveil the secret of phytochemicals.

Modeling methodology has been widely used for analysis and design of a information system. Specially, under the CALS environments, modeling approach is more important because the enterprise functions are inter-related and information sharing speeds up the business. In this paper, we suggest functional requirements about modeling methodology for CALS by surveying the IDEF0 and ARIS. The former is FIPS 183 and the latter is basic methodology of SAP/R3 which is world-wide ERP system. The proposed functional requirements include all semantics of IDEF0 and adds some features. The first is adding modeling components which are semantic representations. In addition to ICOMs, we add the time and cost component which is required to execute the function. The second is tracing mechanism. When we need some information, we drive the functions related with the information by reverse tracing of the function which produces the information as a output and input. Through the tracing, we find out the bottleneck process or high cost process. This approach guarantees the integrity of data by designating the data ownership. Finally, we suggest the final decomposition level. We call the final decomposed function into unit function which has only one output data. We can combine and reconstruct some of functions such as 'lego block' combination.

In order to evaluate the effect of permanent softening behavior on springback prediction, 2D-draw bending simulations were compared with experiments for friction stir welded DP590 steel sheets. To account fur the nonlinear hardening behavior, the combined isotropic-kinematic hardening law was utilized with and without considering the permanent softening behavior during reverse loading. Also, the non-quadratic orthotropic yield function, Yld2000-2d, was used to describe the anisotropic initial-yielding behavior of the base sheet while anisotropic properties of the weld zone were ignored for simplicity.

We propose a new scheme to provide the fast forward and reverse(FF/R) functions to users in Video On Demand Service System. The proposed scheme is to use only I and P pictures obtained by sampling MPEG2 bit-steam. New frame raes for FF/R play are specified with parameters of MPEG2 syntrx. Bits of I and P pictures are reduced in three steps: Variable length decoding(VLD), Inverse quantization and Requantization. The proposed scheme is ecnomical in the sense that it can provide FF/R function without any additional requirement on the bandwidth and on the storage media in video server.

With the application and development of biomedical techniques such as next-generation sequencing, mass spectrometry, and medical imaging, the amount of biomedical data have been growing explosively. In terms of processing such data, we face the problems surrounding big data, highly intensive computation, and high dimensionality data. Fortunately, cloud computing represents significant advantages of resource allocation, data storage, computation, and sharing and offers a solution to solve big data problems of biomedical research. In order to improve the efficiency of resource management in cloud computing, this paper proposes a clustering method and adopts Radial Basis Function in order to compress comprehensive data sets found in biology and medicine in high quality, and stores these data with resource management in cloud computing. Experiments have validated that with such a data-compression-based resource management in cloud computing, one can store large data sets from biology and medicine in fewer capacities. Furthermore, with reverse operation of the Radial Basis Function, these compressed data can be reconstructed with high accuracy.

Using known properties of superquadratic functions we obtain a sequence of inequalities for superquadratic functions such as the Converse and the Reverse Jensen type inequalities, the Giaccardi and the Petrovic type inequalities and Hermite-Hadamard's inequalities. Especially, when the superquadratic function is convex at the same time, then we get refinements of classical known results for convex functions. Some other properties of superquadratic functions are also given.

The lattice filter formed transfer function has the advantage of computer simulation in the analysis of muffler. The transfer function is derived by using z-transformation for perforated elements in through-flow, cross-flow and reverse-flow type. A computer program for the prediction of the performance of automotive mufflers is developed using the transfer functions for uniform tube, open termination, expansion element, perforated elements, etc. The analytical results are verified by comparing with the experimental results for the transmission loss of a muffer. The effect of geometric configuration change of the muffler was invesigated in order to improve the performance of noise attenuation.
