Influence of Parameter Setting in an Oil Cooler on the Temperature Characteristics of an Ultra-precision Hydrostatic Table (초정밀 유정압 테이블에서 냉각장치의 변수 설정이 온도특성에 미치는 영향)

  • Temperature characteristics of supply oil in an ultra-precision hydrostatic table are largely influenced by parameter setting in an oil cooler such as the location of reference sensor and cooling temperature. In this paper, influences of the parameter setting on the temperature variation in the hydrostatic table are experimentally analyzed to suggest the guidelines for practical application. In case of using temperature of inlet oil as a reference sensor in the oil cooler, temperature rise of the supply oil is smaller and thermal settling time is faster than that of using temperature of outlet oil as a reference sensor. The experimental results also show that temperatures of table, rail and return oil can be made almost same, and thermal settling time can be decreased by setting cooling temperature in the oil cooler to be lower than atmospheric temperature.

  • This study is focused on the evaluation of thermal output of TABS (Thermally Activated Building System). The aim of this study is to evaluate TABS in terms of the temperature difference between heating medium supply temperature ($T_s$) and return temperature ($T_r$), thermal output and the surface temperature distribution according to the design flow rate and the design flow temperature. Through the transient heat transfer simulation using temperature calculation using Crank-Nicolson FDM using Physibel Voltra 6.0 W, the temperature difference between $T_s$ and ��$T_r$, thermal output and the surface temperature distribution of specific TABS was calculated and evaluated. The results show that specific thermal output and temperature difference at $60^{\circ}C$ of supply water temperature were about 162 $W/m^2$, $13.6^{\circ}C$ respectively.

  • This paper is concerned with modified integration algorithm on the strain-space for rate and temperature dependent elasto-plastic constitutive relations in order to obtain more accurate results in numerical implementation. The proposed algorithm is integrated analytically using integration by part and chain rule and then is applied to the 2-stage Lobatto IIIA with second-order accuracy. It has advantage that is able to consider the convective stress rates on the yield surface of the strain-space. Also this paper is carried out the iteration procedure using the Newton-Raphson method to enforce consistency at the end of the step. And the performance of the proposed algorithm for rate and temperature dependent constitutive relation is illustrated by means of analysis of adiabatic shear bands.

  • A high-temperature superconducting 1.78 GHz bandpass filter, designed for PCS applications, is presented. The structure consists of microstrip pseudo-lumped elements, which enables miniaturization of the filter. A 5-pole microstrip filter could be realized on a 37 mm $\times$ 9 mm $LaAlO_3$ substrate, using double-sided high-temperature superconducting $YBa_2Cu_3O{7-\delta}$ thin film. This filter showed 0.7 % fractional bandwidth, 0.3 dB insertion loss, and 12 dB return loss in the passband at 60 K.

  • Various automatic temperature control systems have been used widely in Korea for the conservation of heating energy and the enhancement of thermal comfort in residential buildings. But the heating control performance for automatic temperature control systems extensively vary with the design and operational conditions of the heating system, the climate condition and others. It was introduced in this study a numerical calculation program package to analyze heating control characteristics of the automatic temperature control system. This package is able to analyze the room air temperature, return water temperature, supplied heating flux and flow rate, and so on. One the other hand, the simulation results were verified by comparing with the field test results.

  • The sludge wastes fermentation process reactors were operated to produce the VFAs(volatile fatty acids) as supplemental carbon sources and to determine the optimum operating conditions. The experiment was carried out by varied mixture ration of 400:0 350:30 300:100 200:200 and operating temperature 2$0^{\circ}C$ 3$0^{\circ}C$ and 4$0^{\circ}C$ The results were as follows: Higher VFAs production rate observed at higher mixed ratio of primary sludge. When the mixed ratio of primary sludge and return sludge were 400:0 350:50 300:100 200:200 respectively. VFAs production are were 829.6mg/l 944.2 mg/l 597.9mg/ml an d441.6 mg/l , respectively. the yield of VFAs increased with temperature, but decreased with initial TSS concentration Because fermented sludge has relatively low nitrogen and phosphorus and relatively high VFAs it can be used as a substitute for external carbon in biological nutrient removal process.

  • The purpose of this study is on the performance evaluation of horizontally installed HGHEX(Horizontal-type Geothermal Heat Exchanger) in the summer season and the winter season. Followings are the results. By the result of data acquisition at the site, $2.5{\sim}2.7^{\circ}C$ temperature differences are gained between supply pipes and return pipes of HGHEX in the summer season. And $0.5{\sim}1.5^{\circ}C$ temperature differences are gained from HGHEX in the winter season. With these temperature differences, heat quantity of rejection and absorption is calculated and the performance of HGHEX is evaluated according to the seasons.

  • We designed superconducting four-element patch array antenna which has single-feed circularly polarization and a resonance frequency of 11.85 GHz for DBS receiving system. Antennas have been fabricated from both gold conductor and $YBa_{2}$$Cu_{3}$$O_{7-x}$(YBCO) superconductor (thin films) for comparison. Simulated and measured results, and analysis on resonant frequency(fr), return loss, and bandwidth are presented.

  • This paper describes the procedures to estimate for the design thermal loads on prestressed concrete box girder bridges on th basis of the extreme analysis of the temperature data obtained from long-term thermal analyses. Long-term thermal analyses using the environmental data for three years were conducted, and the extreme distributions of th thermal loads are then determined by the tail-equivalence method, and the thermal loads corresponding to selected return period are calculated. Finally, the results are compared to the specifications suggested in a current design code for thermal loads.
