  • This paper compared fuzzy thesaurus through query extension with existent thesaurus and direct matching retrieval etc. Performance of fuzzy thesaurus is evaluated by the recall and precision through simulation. An experiment did through assessment that use critical value, query extension, and reusability satisfaction. As a result of the experiment, we knew component retrieval efficiency of fuzzy thesaurus excels.

  • In this paper, we used query evaluation method through thesaurus for retrieving Components having concept relation with any classes in a query. Queries are presented in boolean and expanded by similar table. Query expansion by thesaurus is the solution of the term mismatching and it enhanced precision and recall of the components retrieval. For efficiency evaluation of query expansion, we defined most critical value through a simulation and compared precision and recall each other.

  • To effectively deal with video data, a semantic-based retrieval scheme that allows for processing diverse user queries and saving them on the database is required. In this regard, this paper proposes a semantic-based video retrieval system that allows the user to search diverse meanings of video data for electrical safetyrelated educational purposes by means of automatic annotation processing. If the user inputs a keyword to search video data for electrical safety-related educational purposes, the mobile agent of the proposed system extracts the features of the video data that are afterwards learned in a continuous manner, and detailed information on electrical safety education is saved on the database. The proposed system is designed to enhance video data retrieval efficiency for electrical safety-related educational purposes.

  • To explore the seafloor, an observation instrument should be laid there for a long time and it should be again withdrawn. This system must be designed low power consumption model because it operates for a long period, but because power control don't execute or simply control algorithm executes, power efficiency is low. Hereupon, a power control algorithm for retrieval system using the ultrasonic communication that was improved its controllability and movability was presented in this paper. Likewise, the logicality of control algorithm and remote control system were ascertained by experiments.

  • Image retrieval is one of the most exciting and fastest growing research fields in the area of multimedia technology. As the amount of digital contents continues to grow users are experiencing increasing difficulty in finding specific images in their image libraries. This paper proposes an efficient image descriptor which uses a local color and texture in the non-overlapped block images. To evaluate the performance of the proposed method, we assessed the retrieval efficiency in terms of ANMRR with common image dataset. The experimental trials revealed that the proposed algorithm exhibited a significant improvement in ANMRR, compared to Dominant Color Descriptor and Edge Histogram Descriptor.

  • Automated Storage/Retrieval Systems(AS/RS) are widely utilized to increase the efficiency of logistics system. In this paper, to offer the basic data required for the standardization and automation of AS/RS, we look into the conditions of several domestic AS/RS manufacturing companies and examine the national and international market conditions and the technical levels of domestic companies. And also, for the domestic companies, government departments and logistics related organizations, we survey and analyze the present state for the installation, implementation and operation of AS/RS and the related equipment systems, and the degree of recognition for the relational aspects.

  • This paper describes an information retrieval system which offers real time information about mobile vehicles through the Internet. In order to evaluate the efficiency of solar batteries and feasibility of electric vehicles, four crews of Tokyo Denki University made a round trip through the North American Continent by their handmade solar electric vehicles last summer. In accordance with this project, an information retrieval system which offers the daily drive information through the Internet to the public was constructed. The system configuration and operating results of this system are reported.

  • This paper illustrates a prototyping framework of the documentation-standards retrieval system via the data mining approach for enhancing software development quality. We first present an approach for designing a retrieval algorithm based on data mining, with the three basic technologies of machine learning, statistics and database management, applied to this system to speed up the searching time and increase the fitness. This approach derives from the observation that data mining can discover unsuspected relationships among elements in large databases. This observation suggests that data mining can be used to elicit new knowledge about the design of a subject system and that it can be applied to large legacy systems for efficiency. Finally, software development quality will be improved at the same time when the project managers retrieving for the documentation standards.

  • This paper aims to offer a solution based on semantic document classification to improve e-Government utilization and efficiency for people using their own information retrieval system and linguistic expression Generally, semantic document classification method is an approach that classifies documents based on the diverse relationships between keywords in a document without fully describing hierarchial concepts between keywords. Our approach considers the deep meanings within the context of the document and radically enhances the information retrieval performance. Concept Weight Document Classification(CoWDC) method, which goes beyond using exist ing keyword and simple thesaurus/ontology methods by fully considering the concept hierarchy of various concepts is proposed, experimented, and evaluated. With the recognition that in order to verify the superiority of the semantic retrieval technology through test results of the CoWDC and efficiently integrate it into the e-Government, creation of a thesaurus, management of the operating system, expansion of the knowledge base and improvements in search service and accuracy at the national level were needed.

  • Component specification languages in consideration of reuse are essential factor in classification, verification and retrieval of components. A number of legacy specification languages have already been used, however, they are complex and include many necessary elements in the specification for implementation. In this paper, we present XML-based component specification and software architecture specification language to solve these problems of legacy specification languages. The presented specification languages consist of component specification, which is composed of signature specification, interface specification and message specification, and software architecture specification providing graphical notations and textural notations. Component specification supports component retrieval with behavioral match and black-box reuse of component. In addition to this, it improves the efficiency of retrieval and document management with XML-based component specification. Software architecture specification supports the structural reuse of architecture, which is white-box reuse, through mesage-based architecture specification.
