The elution behavior of polystyrenes(PS), polymethylmethacrylates (PMMA), polybutadienes(PB), PS-PMMA(SM) block copolymers and PS-PB star shaped copolymers on the cross-linked polystyrene gels was studied. An interpretation was proposed for the plots of log hydrodynamic volume versus retention volume of solutes in the mobile phases such as tetrahydrofuran, toluene, chloroform, methylene chloride and tetrahydrofuran-cyclohexane mixture. In order to predict the retention of solutes from their physical properties, multiple stepwise regression analysis was applied to obtain the correlation. The distribution coefficients($K_p$) of solute-gel interactions in GPC for homopolymers and PS copolymers were also obtained in terms of network-limited separation mechanism. In the cases of PS and PB, $K_p$ values approach unity, while $K_p$ values for PMMA decrease as MW increase in the good solvent, but in poor solvent, $K_p$ values increase as MW increase. $K_p$ values of PS copolymers are dependent on their MW and composition, therefore, morohology of SM block copolymer is predicted to be random phase. Self-injurious behavior is defined as deliberated harm to one's own body without suicidal intent. It usually occurs as head banging or hitting, body hitting, skin cutting, or finger biting and includes ocular, genital, and self-inflicted oral mutilation. Self-injurious behavior can occur with mental retardation, coma, psychotic problem, poisoning, or character disorders. In pediatric patients, self-injurious behavior usually is reported to lip, cheek and tongue biting, and many kinds of dental management methods have been introduced to prevent self-injurious behavior patients from self biting. This report presents two self-inflicted oral mutilation patients who were all treated successfully with appliances such as modified activator without wire for retention, modified tongue-rake appliance and mouth guard.
Due to the heightened ambient $PM_{2.5}$ levels, the whole citizen of Japan, especially dwellers in Fukuoka Prefecture, start to make attention to the particulate matter (PM) of indoor environments. This study was aimed to thoroughly estimate the characteristics of indoor PM collected in five Japanese homes located in Fukuoka Prefecture. Simultaneous indoor measurements of PM were intensively made at five homes using filter-pack samplers, particle counters, and $PM_{2.5}$ monitors for a day in springtime, 2012. Major ionic and carbonaceous components were also analyzed. The time series fluctuation of PM number concentration was gradually decreased by 6 AM and then it was rapidly increased by 8 AM in all indoor sites. The maximum level of $PM_{2.5}$ was measured at the morning time (8 AM-9 AM) when the resident's behavior was fast and strenuous. The Indoor/Out-door (I/O) ratio for the giant PM larger than $5.0{\mu}m$ was 1.16. It was possible to identify PM types and estimate the resident's behavior through the comparison the theoretically calculated and the measured retention times for several types of PM in an indoor site. The theoretically reconstructed mass concentration of $PM_{2.0-0.3}$ suggested that the portion of $PM_{2.5}$ in indoor was quietly occupied by $PM_{0.3}$ or the PM inherently originated from indoor environment.
Liquid chromatographic behavior of Pd(II), Ni(II) and Co(III) in N-Alkylisonitrosoacetylacetone imine(HIAA-NR) chelates was investigated by reversed phase high perfomance liquid chromatography. The optimum conditions for the separation of IAA-NR-metal chelates were examined respect to the flow rate and mobile phase strength. The metal-N-Alkylisonitrosoacetylacetone imine chelates in solution were successfully separated on Novapak $C_{18}$ column using acetonitrile/water mixture as mobile phase. The elution order of chelates is methyl>ethyl>propyl>butyl as N-alkyl group for ligand is varied. It was found that all IAA-NR-metal chelates were eluted in an acceptable range of capacity factor value($0{\leq}log\;k^{\prime}{\leq}1$). The dependence of log k' on the volume fraction of water in the binary mobile phase was examined. Also, the dependence of k' on the liquid-liquid extraction distribution ratio(Dc) in acetonitrile-water-alkane extraction system was investigated for IAA-NR-metal chelate. Both kinds of dependence are linear, which suggests that the retention of the electroneutral metal chelates on Novapak $C_{18}$ column is largely due to the hydrophobic effect.
The adsorption behavior of aromatic acids on Amberlite XAD-4 resin was investigated by measuring the distribution coefficient by batch method. The adsorption of solutes on XAD-4 was affected by the several factors such as, analyte concentration, the pH of solution and concentration of pairing ion. The enhanced adsorption of solutes on XAD-4 in the presence of tetraalkylammonium salt as an ion pairing reagent, referred to as ion interaction, was suggested to follow a double layer model where the pairing ion occupies a primary layer at the adsorbent while the solute anion and other anions in the system comlpete for the secondary layer. Therefore, the ability of an ion pairing reagent to enhance solute adsorption depended significantly on the type and concentration of counter-ion and co-anion accompanying the ion pairing reagent or salt used for ionic strength control. In addition, a good linear relationship between the logarithm of capacity factors measured by batch and elution method as a function of the concentration of ion pairing reagent and methanol can be used to predict the retention in elution method on the basis of capacity factors measured by batch method.

In this study, it collected and analyzed a construction case of the improved top-down support system application field on a case by case retaining wall method. The behavior of horizontal displacement was analyzed according to retaining wall type after reviewing a design stage and estimated horizontal displacement under the construction. The study results showed that it is judged stable until excavation termination irrelevant to a retaining wall method at the improved top-down support system application. It is judged that the settlement of behind ground can minimize because the retaining wall head displacement also behave stably. It was compared the predicted horizontal displacement in design and the measured horizontal displacement acquired through a measurement by using Elasto-Plastic analysis program. The comparison results showed that a similar horizontal displacement was predicted within stability standard irrelevant to a retaining wall method. So, it is decided that the advanced prediction is reasonable by Elasto-Plastic analysis in design applied the improved top-down support system. In the case of the ground anchor method application under a same condition, it is decided that a horizontal displacement will more increase than the improved top-down support system is applied. If a section condition is same, it was decided that to apply top-down support system is more stable than that.

This study investigated the open hole tensile (OHT) properties of carbon fiber/epoxy composites and compared them to bolt joint tensile (BJT) properties. The net nominal modulus and strength (1376 MPa) were found to be higher than the gross nominal strength (1041 MPa), likely due to increasing hole size. The OHT and BJT specimens exhibited similar stiffness, as expected without bolt rotation causing secondary bending. OHT specimens experienced a sharp drop in stress indicating unstable crack propagation, delamination, and catastrophic failure. BJT specimens failed through shear out on the bolt side and bearing failure on the nut side, involving fiber kinking, matrix splitting, and delamination, resulting in lower strength compared to OHT specimens. The strength retention of carbon fiber/epoxy composites with open holes was 66%. Delamination initiation at the hole's edge caused a reduction in the stress concentration factor. Filling the hole with a bolt suppressed this relieving mechanism, leading to lower strength in BJT specimens compared to OHT specimens. Bolt joint efficiency was calculated as 15%. The reduction in strength in bolted joints was attributed to fiber-matrix splitting and delamination, aligning with Hart Smith's bolted joint efficiency diagram. These findings contribute to materials selection and structural reliability estimation for carbon fiber/epoxy composites. They highlight the behavior of open hole and bolt joint configurations under tensile loading, providing valuable insights for engineering applications.
Reinforced concrete(R/C) is commonly used to structures because they have many merits that compressive strength, economy and so on. However, reinforced concrete has a crack at the tensile section which is due to the relatively lower tensile strength than its compressive strength Latex modified concrete(LMC) has higher tensile and flexural strength than the ordinary portland cement, due to the interconnections of hydrated cement and aggregates by a film of latex particles. The purpose of this study was to investigate the flexural behavior of reinforced concrete beam with latex modified concrete, having the main experimental variables such as concrete types(ordinary portland cement concrete, latex modified concrete), latex contents(0%, 15%), flexural steel ratios(0.012, 0.0235), and with/without shear reinforcement. The beam of LMC showed considerably higher initial cracking loads and ductility than that of OPC, but, similar to ultimate strength and deflection. This might be attributed to the interlocking of hydrated cement and aggregates by a film of latex particles, water retention due to hydrophobic, and colloidal properties of the latexes resulting in reduced water evaporation. The beam with latex modified concrete could be adopted at field for controlling and reducing the tensile crack due to its higher tensile strength.
In this report, polyoxometalte (POM)-doped polypyrrole (Ppy) was deposited on surface of three-dimensional carbon cloth (CC) using an electrodeposition method and its pseudocapacitive behavior was investigated using cyclic voltammetry and galvanostatic charge-discharge. The POM-Ppy coating was thin and conformal which can be controlled by electrodeposition time. As-prepared POM-Ppy/CC was characterized using scanning electron microscope and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy. The unique 3D nanocomposite structure of POM-Ppy/CC was capable of delivering excellent charge storage performances: a high areal capacitance ($561mF/cm^2$), a high rate capability (85%), and a good cycling performance (97% retention).
In this paper, we draws tendency of the electricity consumption in residential buildings according to inhabitants Composition types and the level of incomes. it is necessary to reduce energy cost and keep energy security through the electricity demand forecasting and management technology. Progressive social change such as increases of single household, the aging of society, increases in the income level will replace the existing residential electricity demand pattern. However, Only with conventional methods that using only the energy consumption per-unit area are based on Energy final consumption data can not respond to those social and environmental change. To develop electricity demand estimation model that can cope flexibly to changes in the social and environmental, In this paper researches propensity of electricity consumption according to the type of residents configuration, the level of income. First, we typed form of inhabitants in residential that existed in Korea. after that we calculated hourly electricity consumption for each type through National Time-Use Survey performed at the National Statistical Office with considering overlapping behavior. Household appliances and retention standards according to income level is also considered.
