Spatial Data Simplification Methods for Mobile GIS (모바일 GIS를 위한 공간 데이터 간소화 기법)

  • For map services in the mobile environment, it should be considered that resource restriction of the mobile device. Thus, if a map database dedicated to mobile services may not be developed, the spatial data extracted from general map databases should be simplified before transmitting. This paper suggests the mechanism to simplify and modify the spatial data, which are changed to be able to displayed on the mobile devices. This mechanism is based on the map generalization operations and is refined to adapt on mobile phone environment.

  • In the past few decades, many catastrophic natural disasters have occurred not only in Japan and Korea, but also in other countries in the world, forcing people to live in unfamiliar houses for middle or long range evacuation periods. Residents staying in temporary houses exhibit insomnia, resulting in severe fatigue. In order to investigate sleeping state of residents, measuring vital signals has been performed at examination room of a hospital. To avoid the restriction of residents' movement, we propose to use smartphone and/or wearable devices with various high performance sensors like measuring heart beat rate. We clarify the availability and usefulness of those devices as support for analyzing daily sleeping state of residents.

Optimal Conveyor Selection Problem on a Diverging Conveyor Junction Point (컨베이어 분기점에서의 최적 인출 컨베이어 선택 문제)

  • This research investigates the problem of minimizing setup costs in resequencing jobs having first-in, first-out(FIFO) constraints at conveyorized production or assembly systems. Sequence changing at conveyor junctions in these systems is limited due to FIFO restriction. We first define the general problem of resequencing jobs to workstations satisfying precedence relationships between jobs(Generalized Sequential Ordering Problem, GSOP). Then we limit our scope to FIFO precedence relationships which is the conveyor selection problem at a diverging junction(Diverging Sequential Ordering Problem, DSOP), modeling it as a 0-1 integer program. With the capacity constraint removed, we show that the problem can be modeled as an assignment problem. In addition, we proposed and evaluated the heuristic algorithm for the case where the capacity constraint cannot be removed. Finally, we discuss the case study which motivated this research and numerical results.

  • In this paper, the algorithm for detecting the transient change of ST-segment and the device for measuring ECG from patient without restriction of activity are introduced. ST-segment elevation and depression is considered as the main characteristic in diagnosis of myocardial ischemia, but the change of pattern is also important.   • The automatization by industrial robot of today is merely rely on to the simple position repeating works, but requirements of research and development to the force control which would adapt positively to various restriction or contacting works to environment. In this paper, a learning control algorithm using, neural networks is proposed for the position and force control by a direct-drive robot. The proposed controller is the feedback controller to which the learning function of neural network is added on to and has a character of improving controller's efficiency by learning. The effectiveness of the proposed algorithm is demonstrated by the experiment on the hybrid position and force control of a parallelogram link robot with a force sensor.

  • Ecological methods were reviewed through reports such as environmental impact assessment and damage effect of fishery in the Korean watershed. Survey items in marine ecological field were included: phytoplankton, zooplankton, benthic animal, algae, adult fish, egg and juvenile of fish. A standardization of survey method in the field of community ecology was suggested to consider the convenience, Sequency in Use of device, accuracy of data collected from that. It is necessary that spatial data should be sufficiently acquired toy statistical analysis of biodiversity and spatial comparison. Quantitative sampling method must be inevitably adopted based nature of biota and geographical type of the survey area. The same sampling method can make the data compared spatially but can't be applicable in all area. Standardizing survey method should be by no means under certain restriction of study and would become different according to survey environments. The first thing is minutely understanding about ecological character of biota inhabiting in certain area, and then determining survey method.

  • Electromigration is a one of a critical failure mechanism in microelectronic devices. Minimizing the thin film interconnections in microelectronic devices make high current densities at electrrical line. Under high current densities, an electromigration becomes critical problems in a microelectronic device. This phenomena under DC conditions was investigated with high temperature. The current density of 1.5MA/cm2 was stressed in interconnections under DC condition, and temperature condition $150^{\circ}C,\;175^{\circ}C,\;200^{\circ}C$. By increasing of thin film interconections, microelectronic devices durability is decreased and it gets more restriction by temperature. Electromigration makes electronic open by void induced, and hillock induced makes electronic short state.

  • Position balance control refers to ability that is kept bodily center of gravity under minimum position shake on surface of land. Patients who an injury of brain, a wound of the central nervous system or weakening of leg muscular power is fallen are trend increasing steadily by the car accident body balance function is on an increasing trended. These patients have difficulty in position balance control, receive big restriction walk and life style. This research composed to do body balance function rehabilitation training which elevate leg muscular power using step machine. And expect to become effective rehabilitation training device because measuring bodily pressure center using Force Platform and do so that can confirm training result easily as that is monitor.

  • A novel 2-Dimensional Suppressed Sidewall Injection Magnetotransistor (SSIMT) with high linearity has been fabricated on the standard CMOS technology and experimentally verified. The novel 2-Dimensional SSIMT overcomes the restriction of the standard CMOS technology. Experimental results of the fabricated 2-Dimensional SSIMT show that the variation of each collector output currents are extremely linear as a function of magnetic field from -200mT to 200mT at $I_B = 1 mA,\;V_{CE} = 5 V\;and\;V_{SE} = 5 V$. The relative sensitivity shows up to 13 %/T. The measured nonlinearity of the fabricated device is about 0.9%.
