In medium- and long-range optical imaging systems, atmospheric turbulence causes blurring and distortion of images, resulting in loss of image information. An image-restoration method based on an adaptive feature-fusion multi-input-multi-output (MIMO) dense U-shaped network (Unet) is proposed, to restore a single image degraded by atmospheric turbulence. The network's model is based on the MIMO-Unet framework and incorporates patch-embedding shallow-convolution modules. These modules help in extracting shallow features of images and facilitate the processing of the multi-input dense encoding modules that follow. The combination of these modules improves the model's ability to analyze and extract features effectively. An asymmetric feature-fusion module is utilized to combine encoded features at varying scales, facilitating the feature reconstruction of the subsequent multi-output decoding modules for restoration of turbulence-degraded images. Based on experimental results, the adaptive feature-fusion MIMO dense U-shaped network outperforms traditional restoration methods, CMFNet network models, and standard MIMO-Unet network models, in terms of image-quality restoration. It effectively minimizes geometric deformation and blurring of images.
The present study aimed to investigate the impact of the restoration of the restoration technique on fish habitat using a physical habitat simulation in the Wonju-cheon Stream, Korea. The target species were Pungtungia herzi, Zacco platypus, and Zacco Koreanus, a dominant and sub-dominant species in the Wonju-cheon Stream. The River2D model was used for the computation of the flow and the habitat suitability index model was used to estimate the quality and quantity of habitat using habitat suitability curve. To assess the impact of pool-riffle sequence on change of fish habitat, this present study conducted using the each representative distance, namely, 50 m, 100 m, 200 m, and 300 m. Simulation results indicated that the pool-reffle sequence significantly increased the habitats for the target species than the result without considering pool-riffle sequence. On average, 53% of the Weighted Usable Area (WUA) increased due to pool-riffle sequence in the study area.

This study explores the emergence of a modern form of Cheongju-eup townscape in the late 1930s by re-examining the 1960s restoration model of Seongan-dong and Jungang-dong in Cheongju, one of the historic cities in South Korea. According to the acquired data from the restoration model, it is found that the construction of a new urban area during the late 1930 was resulted from the following events: the development of a railroad station located outside of the north gate of Cheongju-eup since 1921, the completion of Musimcheon embankment outside the south gate in 1932, and the construction of Chungcheongbuk provincial office outside the eastern gate in 1937. In this period of development, which the author named 'Cheongju-eup period', the streets in the old castle, consisting only of two-story financial buildings, had been expanded from the existing area at the Seongan-gil intersection to the outside the east gate of Cheongju-eup. In addition, public government buildings, which were mainly located in both Seongan-gil and Yulgok-ro in the east-west direction, were newly constructed during the late 1930s in Seokgyo-dong, a new area in which a large number of commercial buildings including department stores, clothing stores, shoes shops, and watch stores were also built along the streets. Moreover, the modern form of Cheongju-eup was to be formed by several construction projects in the area of Jungang-ro in the late 1930s. Until the 1920s, the townscape outside the northern gate of Cheongju-eup, were composed of primary, agricultural, and female schools built on a largest site of Gyoseo-ro and Daeseong-ro as well as a transportation warehouse and a railway office near the Cheongju station. Then, entering the 1930s, new school buildings and domestic industrial shops and factories were built around the area of Jungang-ro ranging from the railway outside the northern gate to Bangadari. As a result, the expansion of townscape with newly constructed buildings in the late 1930s marked the emergence of a modern form of Cheongju-eup.
Objectives: Human indices were developed to determine returning point of residents and damage restoration after the chemical accident Methods: To determine the returning point of residents after the chemical accident, a new concept, the standard man model was introduced as a human index, in which both H-code and its acute effects were main idea. To evaluate the applicability, a hydrogen fluoride leakage accident in Gumi was applied. The returning point were suggested as the conservative remission period of acute effects among relevant hazard effects and compared with actual returning point. The coverage of each age group were considered with reflecting average daily dose expected for actual residents. In addition, a relief-index as a social-scientific approach was reflected as well to apply the damage restoration Results: Actual returning point of residents in Gumi was 88 days; and that of standard man model suggested was 84 days. The expected amount of exposure at aged 12 or under was at least 2.35 times greater than that of this model, 40s, theoretically. However, their population ratio was less than 1%, so 99% of residents could be applied when the standard man model was applied. The relief-index was as an objective and quantitative methodology to apply the qualitative aspect. Conclusions: Although evaluated as a relatively positive result, there was a limitation such as the number of accident applied to the verification of standard man model. The relief index was also considered, but further research should be carried out to find threshold level for the relief.
It is not uncommon to observe tilt of buildings and towers as a result of unexpected differential foundation settlements. Over the years, a number of engineering methods including the soil extraction technique have been attempted to reduce inclination of buildings and towers. In this research, a series of novel geotechnical centrifuge model tests by using a state-of-the-art in-flit robotic manipulator have been conducted to study key factors which govern the restoration of building tilts. In the centrifuge model tests, the robotic manipulator was used to drill and extract soil in-flight near an initially tilted model building. The soil extraction was to induce stress release, thereby mitigating the inclination of the model building. Insights into the effects of different configurations, soil density and sequences of drilling observed during the centrifuge model tests on the restoration of the model building are to be investigated.

This study aims to analyze the qualitative and quantitative effects of environmental policies in terms of green space management using logistic regression model(LRM). Landsat satellite imageries in 1985, 1992, 2000, 2008, and 2015 are classified using a hybrid-classification method. Based on these classified maps, logistic regression model having a deforestation tendency of the past is built. Binary green space change map is used for the dependent variable and four explanatory variables are used: distance from green space, distance from settlements, elevation, and slope. The green space map of 2008 and 2015 is predicted using the constructed model. The conservation effect of Ulsan's environmental policies is quantified through the numerical comparison of green area between the predicted and real data. Time-series analysis of green space showed that restoration and destruction of green space are highly related to human activities rather than natural land transition. The effect of green space management policy was spatially-explicit and brought a significant increase in green space. Furthermore, as a result of quantitative analysis, Ulsan's environmental policy had effects of conserving and restoring 111.75㎢ and 175.45㎢ respectively for the periods of eight and fifteen years. Among four variables, slope was the most determinant factor that accounts for the destruction of green space in the city. This study presents logistic regression model as a way of evaluating the effect of environmental policies that have been practiced in the city. It has its significance in that it allows us a comprehensive understanding of the effect by considering every direct and indirect effect from other domains, such as air and water, on green space. We conclude discussing practicability of implementing environmental policy in terms of green space management with the focus on a non-statutory plan.
In this study we examined the economic value of restoration technology for oil spill using contingent value methods. One and one half approach to questionnaires can be taken when analyzing tax payer situations as well as single bound approach. The results of the empirical analysis suggest three conclusions. First, the economic value of the restoration technology considered are estimated to be between 8,439 won to 11,867 won per month. Second, the WTP is estimated differently depending on the approaches, OOHB and SB, and the degrees of difference are very sensitive to the model specifications. This empirical result supports the argument for using interval for the economic value when using CVM. Third, the empirical results may provide useful input to policy authorities attempting to estimate the economic justification of the R&D investment for developing an ocean environmental restoration technology.

The Distribution System consist of many tie-line switches and sectionalizing switches, operated a radial type. When an outage occurs in Distribution System, outage areas are isolated by system switches, has to restored as soon as possible. At this time, system operator have to get a information about network topology for service restoration of outage areas. Therefore, the searching result of restorative topology has to fast computation time and reliable result topology for to restore a electric service to outage areas, equal to optimal switching operation problem. So, the problem can be defined as combinatorial optimization problem. The service restoration problem is so important problem which have outage area minimization, outage loss minimization. Many researcher is applying to the service restoration problem with various techniques. In this paper, advanced Dijkstra algorithm is applied to searching a restoration topology, is so efficient to searching a shortest path in graph type network. Additionally, fuzzy rules and operator are applied to overcome a fuzziness of correlation with input data. The present technique has superior results which are fast computation time and searching results than previous researches, demonstrated by example distribution model system which has 3 feeders, 26 buses. For a application capability to real distribution system, additionally demonstrated by real distribution system of KEPCO(Korea Electric Power Corporation) which has 8 feeders and 140 buses.
Purpose: This study aimed to assess and compare the marginal fit of ceramic-based hybrid resin restoration (HYB) and zirconia restoration (ZIR) for dental computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing systems. Methods: A stainless steel master model was produced. The impression was first made with silicone, and then stone working models were produced. A total of twenty restorations were fabricated with two different materials: ZIR and HYB. The silicone film thickness of the marginal gap was measured using a digital microscope; digital photos were taken at a magnification of ×160, and then analyzed using a measurement software. The values of the result were evaluated with the independent-sample t-test (α=0.05). All statistical analyses were performed with a statistical software. Results: The mean values for the marginal gap was 37.14±2.96 ㎛ for HYB, compared with 40.37±5.26 ㎛ for ZIR. No significant difference was found between ZIR and HYB (p=0.107). Conclusion: As a result, the marginal fit of the restoration fabricated using the hybrid resin was better than that of the restoration fabricated using zirconia. Also, the marginal fit of all groups was below the clinical acceptable range of 120 ㎛. Thus, HYB for dental CAD/CAM system in this study is expected to be suitable for clinical use in dentistry.
This study proposed a modified anisotropic diffusion restoration for image classification. The anisotropic diffusion restoration uses a probabilistic model based on Markov random field, which represents geographical connectedness existing in many remotely sensed images, and restores them through an iterative diffusion processing. In every iteration, the bonding-strength coefficient associated with the spatial connectedness is adaptively estimated as a function of brightness gradient. The gradient function involves a constant called "temperature", which determines the amount of discontinuity and is continuously decreased in the iterations. In this study, the proposed method has been extensively evaluated using simulated images that were generated from various patterns. These patterns represent the types of natural and artificial land-use. The simulated images were restored by the modified anisotropic diffusion technique, and then classified by a multistage hierarchical clustering classification. The classification results were compared to them of the non-restored simulation images. The restoration with an appropriate temperature considerably reduces error in classification, especially for noisy images. This study made experiments on the satellite images remotely sensed on the Korean peninsula. The experimental results show that the proposed approach is also very effective on image classification in remote sensing.
