  • In this paper, design of current and speed controller for DC motor drive system using Embedded Target for TI C2000DSP in Matlab/Simulink is introduced. Current and speed controller is designed and implemented using program simply and easily, and speed control response of DC motor can be advanced. Current and speed control of DC motor is carried in eZdsp F2812 control board using Embeded Target for TI C2000DSP in Matlab/Simulink. Speed feedback is processed through A/D converter using tacho generator as speed sensor, and current feedback is processed through A/D converter using hall sensor as current sensor. Controller is designed to PI current controller and PI speed controller. Current and speed response is verified through simulations and experiments.

  • Modern transmission technologies such as automated manual transmission(AMT) and dual clutch transmission(DCT) are interested to all manufactures due to their fuel efficiency and driver's convenience, especially in a hybrid system. AMT has advantages in that they have a high efficiency of manual transmissions(MT) and offer operation convenience similar to automatic transmissions(AT), but it has some disadvantages in that they have torque gap during gear shift and shift time. To reduce disadvantages, it is necessary to evaluate errors and characteristics as a developing simulation model before experimental verification. The purpose of this study is to develop virtual components and simulate the transient response of AMT. A dynamic AMT model and a control logic for an integrated vehicle model have been developed using Matlab/Simulink as a simulation platform. In this paper, the clutch model to describe the stick-slip transition mode and the transmission model to describe the neutral gear shifting is introduced and compared with each other.

  • The liquid crystal device with switchable dynamic mode and memory mode has been investigated and developed. The proposed device reveals splay, ${\pi}$ twist and bend states by selective switching among them. In the dynamic mode, this device is operated in the bend state which exhibits the wide view angle and fast response time properties due to the self-compensated bend structure and flow accelerated fast response time. In the memory mode, the permanent memory characteristics in the splay and ${\pi}$ twist sates are obtained, respectively. The switching mechanisms of the tristate device are also proposed.

  • This paper presents a modeling method of speed controller for DC motor drive system by using the Embedded Target for TI C2000 DSP in MATLAB/SIMULINK. Speed controller is easily designed and implemented by using the MATLAB/SIMULINK program, and speed control response and stability of the DC motor can be improved. Feedback of motor speed is processed through C28x QEP(Quadrature Encoder Pulse) from encoder pulse. The controller is designed as PI speed controller. Simulation program is drawn using SIMULINK. Then a real-time program for speed control of the DC motor is downloaded into the eZdsp F2811 control board. Speed control response is verified through simulations and experiments.

  • Collaborative filtering (CF) recommendation is a knowledge sharing technology for distribution of opinions and facilitating contacts in network society between people with similar interests. The main concerns of the CF algorithm are about prediction accuracy, speed of response time, problem of data sparsity, and scalability. In general, the efforts of improving prediction algorithms and lessening response time are decoupled. We propose a three-step CF recommendation model which is composed of profiling, inferring, and predicting steps while considering prediction accuracy and computing speed simultaneously. This model combines a CF algorithm with two machine learning processes, SOM (Self-Organizing Map) and CBR (Case Based Reasoning) by changing an unsupervised clustering problem into a supervised user preference reasoning problem, which is a novel approach for the CF recommendation field. This paper demonstrates the utility of the CF recommendation based on SOM cluster-indexing CBR with validation against control algorithms through an open dataset of user preference.

  • Metabolomics is an emerging technology which makes it possible to evaluate change of biological system in response to the physiological, environmental alterations. It has advantages in the simplicity and sensitivity to analyze metabolites since the researcher can use cutting edge instrument, such as mass spectrometry and simple sample preparation method compared to genomics or proteomics. Nowadays this technology has been tried in pharmaceutical area to investigate toxicity and efficacy of drug candidates and drugs in preclinical test. The metabolomic applications on the pharmaceutics for early prediction on toxicity and efficacy are described in this presentation. The multivariate analysis to get metabolic fingerprinting and its relations with the physiological changes are investigated with several drugs. Feasibility of metabolomic application for pharmaceutical area would be suggested from those researches.

Kinect Sensor- based LMA Motion Recognition Model Development

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest that the movement expression activity of intellectually disabled people is effective in the learning process of LMA motion recognition based on Kinect sensor. We performed an ICT motion recognition games for intellectually disabled based on movement learning of LMA. The characteristics of the movement through Laban's LMA include the change of time in which movement occurs through the human body that recognizes space and the tension or relaxation of emotion expression. The design and implementation of the motion recognition model will be described, and the possibility of using the proposed motion recognition model is verified through a simple experiment. As a result of the experiment, 24 movement expression activities conducted through 10 learning sessions of 5 participants showed a concordance rate of 53.4% or more of the total average. Learning motion games that appear in response to changes in motion had a good effect on positive learning emotions. Lateral-torsional seismic behaviour of plan unsymmetric buildings

  • Torsional response of buildings is attributed to poor structural configurations in plan, which arises due to two factors - torsional eccentricity and torsional flexibility. Usually, building codes address effects due to the former. This study examines both of these effects. Buildings with torsional eccentricity (e.g., those with large eccentricity) and with torsional flexibility (those with torsional mode as a fundamental mode) demand large deformations of vertical elements resisting lateral loads, especially those along the building perimeter in plan. Lateral-torsional responses are studied of unsymmetrical buildings through elastic and inelastic analyses using idealised single-storey building models (with two degrees of freedom). Displacement demands on vertical elements distributed in plan are non-uniform and sensitive to characteristics of both structure and earthquake ground motion. Limits are proposed to mitigate lateral-torsional effects, which guides in proportioning vertical elements and restricts amplification of lateral displacement in them and to avoid torsional mode as the first mode. Nonlinear static and dynamic analyses of multi-storey buildings are used to validate the limits proposed.

  • The aims of this study was to estimate transfer force delivered to cone crusher housing and contribution of force transmission. The rock crushing condition caused vibrations in the cone crusher housing, which were experimentally measured, and frequency response functions (FRF) were also found through modal impact tests. Vibration data and frequency response functions were applied to the transfer path analysis (TPA) model. Next, transfer forces delivered to the cone crusher housing were quantified via the TPA method. Contribution of force transfer was also analyzed based on force estimation results. Finally, this study describes basic concepts and components of the TPA method and reviews its applicability to rotating machinery that experiences impact vibrations and forces.

Impact of geometrical parameters on SGEMP responses in cylinder model

  • This paper is aimed to find out the impact of the geometrical parameters, mainly the radius and the height of a cylinder, on the SGEMP response including the famous scaling law in the classical cylinder model using a homemade PIC code UNIPIC-3D. We computed the electric fields at the center and at the edge on the emission head face with different radii and heights under normal X-rays incidence. The results show that the electric field will increase with the radius but decrease with the height. We analyze the scaling law that links the electric field product and fluence product, and whereafter an irreconcilable contradiction raises when the radius is changeable, which limits the application range of the scaling law. Moreover, the field-height-radius relation is found and described by a combination of logarithmic and minus one-quarter numerical fitting law firstly. Particle and magnetic field distributions are used to explain all the behaviors of the fields reasonably. All the findings will assist the evaluation of SGEMP response in spacecraft protection.
