This study was conducted to investigate the effect of interview techniques on memory accuracy and suggestibility of preschool children. Forty-five preschool children participated in a magic show(target event) and 1 week later, all children received suggestive interview in two conditions(language condition & drawing condition). Another 1 week later, all children's recall contents of the magic show was assessed. During suggestive interview, children in drawing condition show more 'acception' response than children in language condition, and children in the question condition show less 'remember' response than children in drawing condition. In second interview children reported more words, and specially ones in language condition report more suggested words than ones in drawing condition. Finally, children's recalls were more accurate on controled informations of the event than on suggestive.

Piezoelectric elements driven ultra-precision stages have been used for high accuracy, fast response and high load rapacity. which are allowable to apply the stages to AFMs. Most of the piezoelectric driven stages are guided by flexure hinges for force transmission and mechanical amplification. However the flexure hinge mechanisms cause lack of position accuracy due to coupled and parasitic motions. Hence it is important that the mechanism design of the stage is focused on the stiffness of the flexure hinges to accomplish fast response and hish accuracy without the coupled and parasitic motions. In this study, some constraints for optimal design of a piezoelectric elements driven stage and a design method are proposed. Next, an optimal design is carried out using mathematical calculation. Finally the designed results are verified by FEM.
Thermal mass flow meter was developed using principle of convective heat transfer. The advantage of thermal mass flow meter is measuring mass flow directly, therefore, it is not required to use densitometer or temperature/pressure and DP gages. The final accuracy of this thermal mass flow meter is $\pm1.0{\%}$ or better, reproducibility is $\pm0.2{\%}$, and the response time is 600 ms. The thermal mass flow meter was developed from a single point to multi-points (maximum is 9 points), and the number of points is determined according to desired accuracy and size of piping/duct. Since this thermal mass flow meter adopted microprocessor based design, it is intrinsically accurate, self-error detectable, and has self-diagnosis function. The applications of this thermal mass flow meter are for measurement and control of HVAC air flow, other gas flow, and liquid flow.

In the case of direct connecting the nut of ballscrew to guide table, machining error and misalignment of ballscrew largely affect to the motional accuracy of guideway. For decreasing these influences, two type of floating couplings: leaf spring type and hybrid type which releases the table from nut of ballscrew except feed and rotational direction is proposed in this study. In order to verify practical availability of the proposed floating couplings, motional accuracy, dynamic characteristics and micro step response of hydrostatic guideway, mounted with each type of couplings are tested. The conventional fixed type coupling is also tested as the reference in characteristics. From the results of experiments, it is proved that the hybrid type coupling is superior to other couplings and is available to high precision feeding system with ballscrew.
This study is concerned with the accuracy and the patterns when different methods was used in interpolation task. Although 3 methods employed the same modality for input (visual) and for output (manual responding), they differed in central processing, which method 1 is relatively more tendency of verbal processing, method 2 is realtively more tendency of spatial processing and method 3 needed a number of switching code (verbal/spatial) performing task. Split-plot design was adopted, which whole plot consisted of methods (3), orientations (horizon, vertical), base-line sizes (300, 500, 700 pixels) and split plot consisted of target locations (1-99). The results showed the anchor effect and the range effect. Method 2, method 3 and method 1 that order was better accuracy. ANOVA showed that the accuracy was significantly influenced by the method, the location of target, and its interactions ($method{\times}location$, $size{\times}location$). Analysis of error data, response time and frequency of under, just, over estimate indicated that a systematic error pattern was made in task and methods changed not only the performance but also the pattern. The results provided support for the importance of the multiple resources theory in accounting for S-C-R compatibility and task performance. They are discussed in terms of multiple resources theory and guidelines for system design is suggested by the S-C-R compatibility.
As the classical response surface method (RSM), the polynomial RSM is so easy-to-apply that it is widely used in reliability analysis. However, the trade-off of accuracy and efficiency is still a challenge and the "curse of dimension" usually confines RSM to low dimension systems. In this paper, based on the univariate decomposition, the polynomial RSM is executed in a new mode, called as DPRSM. The general form of DPRSM is given and its implementation is designed referring to the classical RSM firstly. Then, in order to balance the accuracy and efficiency of DPRSM, its adaptive order revision around the most probable point (MPP) is proposed by introducing the univariate polynomial order analysis, noted as RDPRSM, which can analyze the exact nonlinearity of the limit state surface in the region around MPP. For testing the proposed techniques, several numerical examples are studied in detail, and the results indicate that DPRSM with low order can obtain similar results to the classical RSM, DPRSM with high order can obtain more precision with a large efficiency loss; RDPRSM can perform a good balance between accuracy and efficiency and preserve the good robustness property meanwhile, especially for those problems with high nonlinearity and complex problems; the proposed methods can also give a good performance in the high-dimensional cases.
In the subway fire case, it is important that judge accuracy subway fire type and on the initial response minimize accident damage. But when the subway fire accident occurring, if it have know impossible that accuracy subway fire type to judge at once though witnessing driver or emergency response staff. This study suggests type of five senses that using information of five sense take to the subway fire accident information which analyses five senses as occurring subway fire accident. Also it is proposed that emergency response system though fire scenario by using Activity-Action Diagram(AAD).

This paper shows accuracy comparison results of reliability estimation methods for one-shot systems such as ammunitions. Quantal-response data, following a binomial distribution at each sampling time, characterizes lifetimes of one-shot systems. Various quantal-response data of different sample sizes are simulated using lifetime data randomly sampled from assumed weibull distributions with different shape parameters but the identical scale parameter in this paper. Then, reliability estimation methods in open literature are applied to the simulated quantal-response data to estimate true reliability over time. Rankings in estimation accuracy for different sample sizes are determined using t-test of SSE. Furthermore, MSE at each time, including both bias and variance of estimated reliability metrics for each method are analyzed to investigate how much both bias and variance contribute the SSE. From the MSE analysis, MSE provides reliability estimation trend for each method. Parametric estimation method provides more accurate reliability estimation results than the other methods for most of sample sizes.
A large number of non-responses are occurring in the sample survey, and various methods have been developed to deal with them appropriately. In particular, the bias caused by non-ignorable non-response greatly reduces the accuracy of estimation and makes non-response processing difficult. Recently, Chung and Shin (2017, 2020) proposed an estimator that improves the accuracy of estimation using parametric super-population model and response rate model. In this study, we suggested a bias corrected non-response mean estimator using a nonparametric function generalizing the form of a parametric super-population model. We confirmed the superiority of the proposed estimator through simulation studies.

Many reinforced concrete (RC) buildings constructed prior to 1980's lack important features guaranteeing ductile response under earthquake excitation. Structural components in such buildings, especially columns, do not satisfy the reinforcement details demanded by current seismic design codes. Columns with deficient reinforcement details may suffer significant damage when subjected to cyclic lateral loads. They can also experience rapid lateral strength degradation induced by shear failure. The objective of this study is to accurately simulate the load-deformation response of RC columns experiencing shear failure. In order to do so, model parameters are calibrated to the load-deformation response of 40 RC column specimens failed in shear. Multivariate stepwise regression analyses are conducted to develop the relationship between the model parameters and physical parameters of RC column specimens. It is shown that the proposed predictive equations successfully estimated the model parameters of RC column specimens with great accuracy. The proposed equations also showed better accuracy than the existing ones.
