가변 임계값을 이용한 지각 필터의 적응적인 음질 개선 알고리즘 (Adaptive Enhancement Algorithm of Perceptual Filter Using Variable Threshold)

  • 본 논문에서는 잡음에 의해 열화된 오디오 신호를 가변 임계값을 이용한 적응 지각 필터를 사용하여 음질을 개선하는 알고리즘을 제안한다. 제안된 적응 지각 필터는 신호 구간마다 달라지는 신호의 세기와 잡음의 영향 정도를 고려하여 임계값을 가변적으로 조정함으로써 잔여 잡음을 효과적으로 제어하는 방식으로 지각적으로 개선된 음질의 신호를 얻을 수 있다 제안한 방식은 잡음에 의해 열화된 오디오 신호를 주파수 영역으로 변환한 후 임계 대역 기반의 임계 대역 에너지 (Critical intensity energy)와 마스킹 영향이 고려된 청각 자극 에너지 (Excitation energy)를 계산한 다음, 지각 필터를 기반으로 한 적응 지각 필터 알고리즘으로 각 단계별 지각 필터 응답을 임계값으로 이용하여 가변 임계값이 재조정되는 단계를 결정하게 된다. 신호의 구간별 에너지 크기에 의한 잡음에 의해 열화된 정도의 차이를 가변 임계값을 이용하여 고려함으로써 잔여 잡음의 효과적인 제어가 가능하게 된다. 제안한 방법은 다양한 신호대 잡음비에서 열화된 오디오 신호를 입력으로 사용하였다. 입력 신호대 잡음비가 15dB, 20dB, 25dB와 30dB의 각각의 경우에 대하여 잡음대 마스킹비 (Noise-to-mask ratio, NMR)와 청감 테스트 (Mean opinion score, MOS Test)를 시행하였다. 그 결과, 잡음대 마스킹비의 개선 측면에서 각각의 경우에 대해 17.4dB, 15.3dB, 12.8dB, 9.8dB의 개선을 확인할 수 있었고, 청감 테스트의 개선 측면에서는 각각 2.9, 2.5, 2.3, 1.7의 개선된 음질을 확인할 수 있었다.

  • 고양이의 고색신경(chorda tympani nerve)을 통한 미각신형 impulse 발사시험을 실시하여 MSG의 미각신경 반응특징을 기본맛의 그것과 비교하였으며 MSG 용액의 첨가가 기본맛 성분의 미각반응 impulse 강도에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 고양이의 혀에 자극된 맛성분의 종류와 농도에 따라 고색신경을 통한 신경 impulse 발사빈도수는 다르게 나타났다. 구연산에 대한 반응 impulse가 가장 높은 빈도수를 나타내었고 NaCl, KCl, MSG가 비슷한 수준이었고 sucrose는 다른 맛성분에 비하여 그 반응정도가 낮게 나타났다. 여러 가지 다른 농도의 MSG 용액으로 미리 자극된 맛성분을 투하할 경우 식염의 짠맛에 대한 반응은 MSG 농도 0.02 M에서 크게 증가되나 0.08 M에서 증가폭이 다소 낮아졌다. 설탕의 경우, MSG에 의하여 반응 impulse가 약화되는 경향을 나타내었으며 구연산의 경우에는 MSG에 의하여 반응 impulse 빈도수가 뚜렸이 감소하였다.

개의 성문폐쇄반사에 미치는 중추조절의 영향에 관한 연구 (Glottic Closure Reflex in an Anesthetized and Awake Canine Model)

  • Background and Objectives : Sphincteric function of the larynx, essential to lower airway protection, is most efficiently achieved through strong reflex adduction by both vocal cords. We hypothesize that central facilitation is an essential component of a bilateral adductor reflex and that its disturbance could result in weakened sphincteric closure. Materials and Method : Seven adult 20kg dogs underwent evoked response laryngeal electromyoraphy under 0.5 to 1.0 MAC isoflurane anesthesia. The internal branch of superior laryngeal nerve was stimulated through bipolar platinum-iridium electrodes and recording electrodes were positioned in the ipsilateral and contralateral thyroaryteonoid muscles. Results : Consistent threshold responses were obtained ipsilaterally under all anesthetic levels. However, contralateral reflex responses disappeared as anesthetic levels approached 1.0 MAC. Additionally, at 0.5 MAC, late responses (R2) were detected in one animal. Conclusion : Alteration of central facilitation by deepening anesthesia abolishes the crossed adductor reflex, predisposing to a weakened glottic closure response. Precise understanding of this effect may improve the prevention of aspiration in patients emerging from prolonged sedation or under heavy psychotropic control.

  • The PVA(patterned vertical alignment) mode has a excellent dark state at normal direction. but they has a disclination area at divided domain region at voltage on state. so this disclination make a slow response time and decrease transmittance. To overcome this problem, we research about polymer stabilized vertical alignment (PS-VA) method which was using the UV curable reactive mesogen. According to our research, UV exposure condition which was UV dosage condition effected to rising time and decay time and also threshold voltage.

비대칭 초기 조건을 갖는 얕은 아치의 동적 불안정과 순시 주파수 변화 (Dynamic Instability and Instantaneous Frequency of a Shallow Arch With Asymmetric Initial Conditions)

  • This paper examined the dynamic instability of a shallow arch according to the response characteristics when nearing critical loads. The frequency changing feathers of the time-domain increasing the loads are analyzed using Fast Fourier Transformation (FFT), while the response signal around the critical loads are analyzed using Hilbert-Huang Transformation (HHT). This study reveals that the models with an arch shape of h = 3 or higher exhibit buckling, which is very sensitive to the asymmetric initial conditions. Also, the critical buckling load increases as the shape increases, with its feather varying depending on the asymmetric initial conditions. Decomposition results show the decrease in predominant frequency before the threshold as the load increases, and the predominant period doubles at the critical level. In the vicinity of the critical level, sections rapidly manifest the displacement increase, with the changes in Instantaneous Frequency (IF) and Instant Energy (IE) becoming apparent.

  • This paper introduces the equivalent frequency response method(EFRM) into runoff analysis. This EFRM originally had been developed to analyze dynamic behavior of nonlinear elements such as threshold and saturation in control engineering. Many runoff models are described by nonlinear ordinary of partial differential equations This paper presents that these nonlinear differential equations can be converted into semi-linear ones based on EFRM. The word of "a semi-linear equation" means that the coefficients of derived equations depend on average rainfall.

개에서 Brain-stem Auditory Evoked Responses를 이용한 Deafness 진단 (Brain-stem Auditory Evoked Responses as a Diagnostic tool for Deafness in Dogs)

  • These experiments were designed to evaluate the possibility of brain-stem auditory evoked responses(BAER) as a diagnostic tool for deafness in dogs. The BAER was recorded from three different groups of dogs; the normal dogs,'dog with otitis externa and dogs with unilateral destruction of cochlear. BAER of the normal dogs was consisted of distinct five peaks(I, II, III-IV, V). Furthermore, the clear shapes of waveform were observed at 85 dB. The latency of BAER was increased with reducing the intensity of sound-stimulus. The highest threshold of BAER was measured at 2 KHz with 10-30 dB. Dog with otitis externs demonstrated unclear shapes of BAER compared to the that of normal dogs. In the dogs with unilateral destruction of cochlear, the flat and indistinct waveform of BAER was recorded from the cochlear destroyed ear while that of BAER from normal side of ears did not show any differences from the normal BAER. These results indicate that the BAER can be clinically used in order to diagnose the deafness in dogs.

그라핀 양자점을 도핑한 TN 셀의 고속 스위칭 특성 (Fast Switching Properties of TN Cell With Graphene Quantum Dots)

  • In this study, we report the doping effect of graphene quantum dots (QDs) in nematic liquid crystal (NLC) system on rubbed polyimide (PI) surface. The good LC alignment and high thermal stability in QD-LC cell system on rubbed PI surfaces can be measured. Also, the low threshold voltage of QD-TN cell was observed about 2.77 V. The fast response time of 13.2 ms for QD-TN cell can be achieved. Finally, the good voltage holding ratio of QD-TN cell on rubbed PI surface was measured.

  • The equation of motion of a one way (vertical) spanning strip wall, as an assembly of two rigid bodies, is presented. Only one degree of freedom is needed to completely describe the wall response as the bodies are assumed to be perfectly rectangular and are allowed to rock but not to slide horizontally. Furthermore, no arching action occurs since vertical motion of the upper body is not restrained. Consequently, the equation of motion is nonlinear, with non constant coefficients and a Coriolis acceleration term. Phenomena associated with overburden to self weight ratio, motion triggering, impulsive energy dissipation, amplitude dependency of damping and period of vibration, and scale effect are discussed, contributing to a more complete understanding of experimental observations and to an estimation of system parameters based on the wall characteristics, such as intermediate hinge height and energy damping, necessary to perform nonlinear time history analyses. A comparison to a simple standing, or parapet, wall is developed in order to better highlight the characteristics of this assembly.

PCEMA 광폴리머의 광중합 작용을 이용한 액정배향 (Liquid crystal alignment by photo-dimerization reaction of PCEMA photo polymer)

  • We synthesised a novel photo-alignment material of PCEMA (poly(cinnamolyethyl methacrylate)) on photo-dimerization reaction. Next we investigated the electro-optical (EO) characteristics of photo-aligned twisted nematic (TN)-liquid crystal display (LCD) with linearly polarized ultraviolet (UV) light irradiation on PCEHA surface. The excellent voltage-transmittance characteristics of photo-aligned TN-LCD on PCEMA surface were obtained. The threshold voltage of photo-aligned TN-LCD decreases with increasing the UV light irradiation time on PCEMA surface. Also, the response time of photo-aligned TN-LCD on PCEMA surface is almost the same as rubbing-aligned TN-LCD.
