Stroke, also called an attack on the brain, is a complex disease that results from the interaction of many genetic and environmental factors. StrokePortal is a comprehensive resource for information on stroke that integrates and provides essential findings regarding stroke pathology, diagnostics, and treatments, based on Oriental and Western medicine. The stroke information was collected from various sources, such as journal articles, books, websites, and news stories, and it was refined, classified, and stored into a relational database system by automatic classification and manual curation. To provide the stored information effectively to users, a specialized retrieval system, based on web interfaces, was implemented. StrokePortal provides cutting-edge information to experts; interested people, including patients and their families; and investigators to broaden their knowledge of effective treatments for patients and offer many preventive measures. It provides a specialized feature with which users can upload their information and opinions to StrokePortal, which will enrich and mature the content even further. The most representative research network in Korea, KREONET has developed the NSI based NSA (Network Service Agent) technology. The developed NSA supports web service and provides services for reservation, provision, release and termination of network resource, whenever users want to utilize them. In this paper, the system blocks of the developed NSA and flows of NSI interface massage are presented firstly, Also, service test results for NSI connection reservation is given through internet communication of the web portal system to operate as the RA NSA and the NSA, Finally, it is confirmed that reservation, provision, release and termination of network resource can be established through NSI messages based on reservation information from user, between the web portal and the NSA.

기업의 computing process에서는 기업의 주요업무 및 전략을 분석 정의하여 이것을 computing resource에 실행한다. 이를 위하여, 일반적으로, 여러 개발자들이 공유개발환경을 통하여 프로세스를 개발하고 이를 운영한다. 현재 Enterprise Computing Environment에서는 Grid Computing이 필연적 과제이다. Grid Computing에서, Grid Portal은 통합사용자인터페이스를 제공하여 주는 중요한 요소이다. 그러나, 현재의 대부분의 Grid Portal들은 Job Submit 처리를 중점적으로 구현하는데 주력하고 있기 때문에, 기업 computing process의 중요한 요소인 통합적 개발환경에 대한 지원이 부족하다. 본 연구에서는, 이런 부족한 부분을 개선하여, Enterprise Grid 환경을 위한 통합개발환경의 Grid Portal의 모델을 제안한다.

This study, as a pilot study to implement and extend the marine healing which has been rapidly extending oversea areas into the domestic market, has collected seven major marine healing resources such as ocean water, sand, salt, mud, seaweeds, forest, and weather targeting selected four pilot municipalities and established a GIS DB. Furthermore, web GIS based marine healing portal has been established to support the easier utilization of the GIS DB and various marine healing related contents, thereby facilitating expansion of related industry. The portal includes marine thematic maps as well as research papers, related therapy manuals, and various activities and programs of the pilot municipalities. It is expected that the portal would contribute to the expansion of the domestic marine healing industry significantly through the pilot operation of the portal, not to mention of the needs of subsequent studies for expansion of the marine GIS DB and securing more various contents.

With the developments in the areas of IT and internet, the portal sites have provided a variety of services. The explosive growth of portal sites based on IR services has a great influence on information services and types of information provided typically by libraries. Because of various and useful information services, information users consider portal sites as a more useful information resource. With the user's changes in information resource the portal sites can be a threatening competitor to libraries as a information resource. To deal successfully environmental changes around libraries. IR agency service can be best solution. IR agency service is a sort of more advanced and expanded information services for information users who can not connect to internet or has no skill on IT area. In this paper, information users' opinion on their internet using behavior and IR agency service was collected and analyzed. Based on the result of survey. this paper proposes how to provide IR agency service and its expecting effect for libraries, especially public libraries.

This study was purposed to explore how the information society effects on the working life of the married women. To answer the question, with theroetical background, 6 married women's cases which were selected through women's portal internet site were analysed. As results, these married women had contracting base, part-time jobs. Their jobs were chacterized by computerizing. They were different with traditional jobs in the industrial society. Internet sites were effectively used for work information network by them. So, in the future, many married women will be able to find working opportunity in a home-based part-time job through internet. And they presented aptitude for their work. Her children and husband were proud of her. They had confidence in their working ability Many women had a project publishing a book, owning a business, and making new products by her own's idea.

One of the main issues in developing a digital library is how to implement an open digital library which can be interoperable, and diverse concepts, technology and protocols have been introduced to deal with this issue. In this study, it is analysed in terms of 'metadata interoperability', and based on the analysis, 5 basic component technologies are defined as follows: application profiles, modeling, implementation, resource discovery, portal service. Therefore it explains concepts of those core features, characteristics, cases in point, standardization and technical trends.

Microbes are one of the most important bioresources in bioindustry and provide high economic values. Although there are currently about 6,000 bacterial species with validly published names, microbiologists generally assume that the number may account for less than 1% of the bacterial species present on Earth. To discover the remaining species, studies of metagenomes, metabolomes, and proteomes related to microbes have recently been carried out in various fields. We have constructed an information system that integrates various data on microbial resources and manages bioinformation to support efficient research of microorganisms. We have designated this system 'Bio-Meta Information System (Bio-MIS).' Bio-MIS consists of an integrated microbial resource database, a microbial resource input system, an integrated microbial resource search engine, a microbial resource online distribution system, a portal service, and management via the Internet. In the future, this system is expected to be connected with various public databases. We plan to implement useful bioinformatics software for analyzing microbial genome resources. For increasing the competitiveness and efficiency of Korea's finance industry under the new e-finance paradigm, this paper compared the practical use of finance portal site' on service parts and stage between Korea and U.S.A.. The services which can be served from site are banking, mortgage and credit loan, stock, card, retirement tax, PFM(Personal Finance Management), EBPP(Electronic Bill Presentment and Payment) and Account Aggregation and so on. The stage of site can be divided as the information provide stage which only gives information about service parts, on-line transaction stage which real-time transaction is possibile and PFM services provide stage according to development process. As a result, the beginning of finance portal service in Korea was lated about 10years and more than it of U.S.A. So the development stage of domestic portal site is still staying in the first step and the providing services and contents or business model development parts are also in the same stage than U.S.A. Resides, Korea's sites mainly focus on their first service parts even though they recently aim internet finance portal, and provide not real time transaction but finance information. On the other hand, the U.S.A. site support substantially not only various on-line transactions but also distinctive personal services like PFM(Personal Finance Management), EBPP(Electronic Bill Presentment and Payment), Account Aggregation and Trans-account, brokerage, education center, mortgage loan, mutual fund, option, pension fund and IPOs and so on. Thus, the site of Korea need to establish real type of internet finance portal which provides one-stop services on every type of finance to customers in the real time and also require the strategic integration among finance institutions. The next turn, they need to build information system and education center to give best satisfaction to customers and acquire customer information and marker environment changes and need to provide distinctive services to quality customers throughout database from this. Also the site should provide various type of banking services which refereed above like PEM, EBPP and education center etc, and the government of Korea should support the building of IT infrastructure to Physical, legal, systematic, sociocultural, technical and human resource sections. This paper provided the future movement direction of the domestic finance portal through comparison and analysis on the practical use of it between Korea and U.S.A. and also wanted to contribute for developing and reading of Korea finance portal in the new era of the finance paradigm.

본 연구는 최근 인터넷 분야에서 각광을 받고 있는 포털사이트의 개념, 특징 및 구성요소에 대해 살펴보았다. 세계적으로 유명한 대표적 포털사이트인 마이크로소프트(MSN), 아메리카 온라인(AOL), 야후(YAHOO)의 포털서비스 사례를 컨텐츠(contents), 커뮤니티(community), 커뮤니케이션(communication), 커머스(commerce)의 유형으로 나누어 알아보았다. 이러한 포털사이트의 개념을 도서관의 통합정보 서비스 제공에 적용할 수 있는지 알아보기 위하여 학술정보 전문 포털사이트인 한국교육학술정보원(KERIS), 연구개발정보센터(KORDIC), LG상남도서관의 포털사이트의 주요 내용을 살펴보고, 학술정보 전문 포털사이트의 모형 구축을 시도하였다.
