  • The earlier literature widely documented the role of natural resources in economic development and confined their findings either in support of resource blessing growth or resource curse hypothesis. The ample research on the stated theme has available in the relevant databases, supported with empirical data, while a few studies used a case study or mixed-method approach. The study identified plenty of room on a given topic by conducting a systematic literature review and synthesizing the literature in more meaningful inferences. After a thorough investigation of the literature review through systematic intervention, the study concludes that natural resource management is imperative for a country's sustained growth. Simultaneously, it is desirable to reduce resource conflicts, improve institutional performance, decrease corruption, and stabilize the political environment to get maximum natural resource management potential globally.

  • Objective: Swine manure in Korea is separated into solid and liquid phases which are composted separately and then applied on land. The nutrient accumulation in soil has been a big issue in Korea but the basic investigation about nutrient input on arable land has not been achieved in detail. Within the nutrient production from livestock at the national level, most values are calculated by multiplication of the number of animals with the excreta unit per animal. However, the actual amount of nutrients from swine manure may be totally different with the nutrients applied to soil since livestock breeding systems are not the same with each country. Methods: This study investigated 15 farms producing solid compost and 14 farms producing liquid compost. Composting for solid phase used the Turning+Aeration (TA) or Turning (T) only methods, while liquid phase aeration composting was achieved by continuous (CA), intermittent (IA), or no aeration (NA). Three scenarios were constructed for investigating solid compost: i) farm investigation, ii) reference study, and iii) theoretical P changes (${\Delta}P=0$), whereas an experiment for water evaporation was conducted for analyzing liquid compost. Results: In farm investigation, weight loss rates of 62% and 63% were obtained for TA and T, respectively, while evaporation rates for liquid compost were 8.75, 7.27, and $5.14L/m^2{\cdot}d$ for CA, IA, and NA, respectively. Farm investigation provided with the combined nutrient load (solid+liquid) of VS, N, and P of 117.6, 7.2, and $2.7kg/head{\cdot}yr$. Nutrient load calculated from farm investigation is about two times higher than the calculated with reference documents. Conclusion: The nutrient loading coefficients from one swine (solid+liquid) were (volatile solids, 0.79; nitrogen, 0.53; phosphorus, 0.71) with nutrient loss of 21%, 47%, and 29%, respectively. The nutrient count from livestock manure using the excretion unit has probably been overestimated without consideration of the nutrient loss.

  • For the problems in executing rural development, recent recognitions are that discovery, preservation, and utilization of area-unique resource are unsatisfactory, that participation of local residents was neglected, and that approach to gradual refurbishment of houses and common space of town in consideration of existing spatial pattern of the town was not adequate. Especially, neglect for exact investigation, analysis and evaluation on rural local resources is bringing about social problems such as mass production of uniform rural area and loss of local identity. In this study, rural resources were listed and resource evaluation items was designed in order to establish development direction of rural village. According to these results, for the efficient and reasonable drive of the resource evaluation system, following items are required; A premise of local development by participation of local people, Development of diversely appliable resource evaluation clauses, Establishment of development type in connection with resource evaluation clauses, Systematic management of local resource through spreading DB resource. This research was loused on unearthing direction development of rural village and theme. However, what should be reconsidered through continuous study is that resource evaluation clauses are somewhat general and not concretely illustrated. Therefore establishment of characterized development is expected through clarifying local identity and presenting direction of local development, with the importance of resource and systematic analysis in planning on rural village in the future.

  • A unrecorded hyphomycete species of Phialocephala was isolated for the first time during the investigation of fungal community in the soil samples collected from different regions of Korea. The fungal isolate was identified as Phialocephala lagerbergii, based on the morphological characteristics and phylogenetic analysis of the ribosomal DNA sequence. In addition, cultural and micro-morphological features were described in detail.

  • In this study, a heuristic algorithm is developed to solve a resource-constrained scheduling problem. The problem involves multiple projects and multiple resource categories, and allows flexible resource allocation to each activity. The objective is to minimize the maximum completion time. The algorithm takes advantage of the basic structure of a heuristic algorithm, called the exchange heuristic, but employs different strategies on some critical steps of the original algorithm which have significant effects on the algorithm performance. The original algorithm and the modified algorithm were compared through an experimental investigation. The modified algorithm produces significantly shorter schedules than the original algorithm, though it requires up to three times more computation time.

  • Fossil fuels have been depleted gradually and new energy resource which can solve this shortage is needed now. Methane hydrate, non-polluting new energy resource, satisfies this requirement and considered the precious resource prevent the global warming. Fortunately, there are abundant resources of methane hydrate distribute in the earth widely, so developing the techniques that can use these gases effectively is fully valuable. the work presented here is to develop the skill which can transport and store methane hydrate. As a first step, the equilibrium point experiment has been carried out by increasing temperatures in the cell at fixed pressures. The influence of gas consumption rates under variable degree of subcooling, stirring and water injection has been investigated formation to find out kinetic characteristics of the hydrate. The results of present investigation show that the enhancements of the hydrate formation in terms of the gas/water ratio are closely related to operational pressure, temperature, degrees of subcooling, stirring rate, and water injection.

  • This research aims to present a development plan on the Korean diaspora information resource management in a viewpoint document information and archives. This study consists of two aspects : a document investigation based on Korean diaspora and information resource and in a practical examine based on a spot of life, settlement, and movement of overseas. A lot of Korea Diaspora have immigrated to Japan, China and Russia mostly with other people in the political and economic dominant cause. They are produced a various of document information and was formed information resource management and archives in a library, a newspaper office and a publishing company. The result of this research was looked forward to help to R&D of information resource management in values and competencies for Korean diaspora.
