This study presents the design improvement process for door module. Its objective evades the resonance generated at module plate due to the operation of window regulator motor. For this study, the design improvement process is composed of experimental methods having three steps. First step is modal analysis at door assembly status for acquisition of dynamic characteristics which are modal frequency and damping. Second step is a vibration experiment to get the test mode considered an efficiency of window regulator motor. Last step is a vibration measurement by the form of $6{\times}6$ array on module plate. A vibration measurement of $6{\times}6$ array form can be got to three analysis results which are a transfer path of vibration using cross correlation function, a vibration map using OA level and a contribution by frequency band using coherent output power spectrum on module plate. These results are applied to SDM(structural dynamic modification) for design improvement to get around the resonance on module plate by the excitation of window regulator motor.

Automatic detection of disease helps medical institutions that are introducing digital images to read images rapidly and accurately, and is thus applicable to lesion diagnosis and treatment. The aim of this study was to apply a symmetry contribution algorithm to unsharp mask filter-applied MR images and propose an analysis technique to automatically recognize brain tumor and edema. We extracted the skull region and drawed outline of the skull in database of images obtained at P University Hospital and detected an axis of symmetry with cerebral characteristics. A symmetry contribution algorithm was then applied to the images around the axis of symmetry to observe intensity changes in pixels and detect disease areas. When we did not use the unsharp mask filter, a brain tumor was detected in 60 of a total of 95 MR images. The disease detection rate for the brain was 63.16%. However, when we used the unsharp mask filter, the tumor was detected in 87 of a total of 95 MR images, with a disease detection rate of 91.58%. When the unsharp mask filter was used in the pre-process stage, the disease detection rate for the brain was higher than when it was not used. We confirmed that unsharp mask filter can be used to rapidly and accurately to read many MR images stored in a database.

Caliper intergrated Electric Parking Brake (EPB) is an automatic parking brake system, attached to rear caliper. Because EPB uses luxury vehicles recently, the drivers of vehicles are sensitive to the EPB noise. EPB is operated by the motor and gear, so noise is generated by motor and gear. In order to reduce noise, One of EPB manufacturers uses helical gear and changes the shape of EPB housing. But these methods are not optimized for reduction of interior noise. There are many noise transfer paths into vehicle interior and it is difficult to identify the noise sources. Therefore, in this study, we performed contribution analysis and modal testing in the vehicle system. It is possible to distinguish between air-borne noise and structure-borne noise in the vehicle interior noise by comparing interior noise peak with resonance mode map.
The current research deals with, stability/instability and cylindrical composite nano-scaled shell's resonance frequency filled by graphene nanoplatelets (GPLs) under various thermal conditions (linear and nonlinear thermal loadings). The piece-wise GPL-reinforced composites' material properties change through the orientation of cylindrical nano-sized shell's thickness as the temperature changes. Moreover, in order to model all layers' efficient material properties, nanomechanical model of Halpin-Tsai has been applied. A functionally modified couple stress model (FMCS) has been employed to simulate GPLRC nano-sized shell's size dependency. It is firstly investigated that reaching the relative frequency's percentage to 30% would lead to thermal buckling. The current study's originality is in considering the multifarious influences of GPLRC and thermal loading along with FMCS on GPLRC nano-scaled shell's resonance frequencies, relative frequency, dynamic deflection, and thermal buckling. Furthermore, Hamilton's principle is applied to achieve boundary conditions (BCs) and governing motion equations, while the mentioned equations are solved using an analytical approach. The outcomes reveal that a range of distributions in temperature and other mechanical and configurational characteristics have an essential contribution in GPLRC cylindrical nano-scaled shell's relative frequency change, resonance frequency, stability/instability, and dynamic deflection. The current study's outcomes are practical assumptions for materials science designing, nano-mechanical, and micromechanical systems such as micro-sized sensors and actuators.

Objective: Whether metabolic redistribution occurs in patients with white matter hyperintensities (WMHs) on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is unknown. This study aimed 1) to propose a measure of the brain metabolic network for an individual patient and preliminarily apply it to identify impaired metabolic networks in patients with WMHs, and 2) to explore the clinical and imaging features of metabolic redistribution in patients with WMHs. Materials and Methods: This study included 50 patients with WMHs and 70 healthy controls (HCs) who underwent 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose-positron emission tomography/MRI. Various global property parameters according to graph theory and an individual parameter of brain metabolic network called "individual contribution index" were obtained. Parameter values were compared between the WMH and HC groups. The performance of the parameters in discriminating between the two groups was assessed using the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC). The correlation between the individual contribution index and Fazekas score was assessed, and the interaction between age and individual contribution index was determined. A generalized linear model was fitted with the individual contribution index as the dependent variable and the mean standardized uptake value (SUVmean) of nodes in the whole-brain network or seven classic functional networks as independent variables to determine their association. Results: The means ± standard deviations of the individual contribution index were (0.697 ± 10.9) × 10-3 and (0.0967 ± 0.0545) × 10-3 in the WMH and HC groups, respectively (p < 0.001). The AUC of the individual contribution index was 0.864 (95% confidence interval, 0.785-0.943). A positive correlation was identified between the individual contribution index and the Fazekas scores in patients with WMHs (r = 0.57, p < 0.001). Age and individual contribution index demonstrated a significant interaction effect on the Fazekas score. A significant direct association was observed between the individual contribution index and the SUVmean of the limbic network (p < 0.001). Conclusion: The individual contribution index may demonstrate the redistribution of the brain metabolic network in patients with WMHs.

The paper investigates the change of frequency response characteristics on two-stage gear reduction servo system according to the variation of backlash amount of each gear reduction stage, under the condition that the backlash of total system is constant. It is shown that the frequency response characteristics of the system heavily depend on the contribution ratio which is defined as a ratio of the first backlash amount to the total backlash. It is also found that there is an optimal backlash combination to maximize the bandwidth of two-stage gear reduction servo system when the allowable total backlash is determined.

Sound transmission loss (TL) is experimently investigated on the multi-layered panel used for the floor of a tilting train. Measurement of the intensity transmission loss is performed according to ASTM E 2249-02. The floor structure consists of corrugated steel panel, glass wool, plywood and cover. On the corrugated steel panel, TL drop by local resonance is considered and the TL improvement effect by damping treatment is estimated. Total sound transmission loss of the entire floor structure is obtained and the contribution of each layer is examined.

In this paper noise source and transfer path of tactical vehicle are analyzed with partial coherence function and spectrum analysis. Engine, transmission, structure panel and aerodynamic are main source of cabin noise. To reduce cabin noise, identifying transfer path of sources and analyzing their contribution is important. With modeling of transfer path and partial coherence function, transfer path and principal noise source can be identified. Engine/transmission and structural resonance are principal source of low frequency noise and by adding stiffener and sound absorbing material, resonance of vibration and inflow air problem can be solved.
The substituent dependence of geometric distortion through the two independent electronic substituent effects is analyzed for mono-substituted benzene derivatives of $C_{2v}$. Based on resonance structures, quantitative relationships expressing the resonance and field/inductive contribution terms in bond distortions are derived. The calculated field-effect parts of $C_{ipso}$_$C_{ortho}$ ring bonds increase and decrease compared to benzene for electropositive and electronegative substituents respectively. The nonbonded axial distance, $C_{ipso}$....$C_{para'}$ decreases for electronegative substituents and increases for electropositive substituents. As the electronegativity increases, the distance $C_{ortho}$....$C_{ortho'}$ increases. With the $\pi$-donors, $C_{meta}$....$C_{meta'}$ nonbonded distances are shorter compared to the ones of benzene, and for $\pi$-acceptors, the are longer. Our model based on valence bond approach predicts that the average bond length determined the area of ring, and the sum of the angles <$C_{ortho}$_$C_{ispo}$_$C_{ortho}$ and <$C_{meta}$_$C_{para}$_$C_{meta}$ determines the axial distance.
A Cu(I) complex with an asymmetric TTF derivative (CET-EDTTTF) is prepared from the slow-diffusion method using CET-EDTTTF and Cu(I)Br solutions and characterized by X-ray crystallography and EPR spectroscopy. Structural analysis shows Cu(I) ions are tetrahedrally coordinated to two bridging bromides, one terminal bromide, and one S atom from CET-EDTTTF. Detailed geometrical and EPR analysis identified that the dimmer molecule contains [Cu$_2Br_4]^{2-}$ anion between two [CET-EDTTTF]$^+$ radical cations. Single-crystal EPR investigation of the complex reveals that the ganisotropy is unusually big, compared to those of the previously reported TTF+ cation radicals, implying that there is significant contribution of the Cu d-orbital to the HOMO of the complex.
