Design and Acoustic Properties of Piezoelectric Device with the PMN-PT-PZ System (PMN-PT-PZ계를 이용한 압전소자의 설계 및 음향특성)

  • In this study, the acoustic transducer of a thin circular disc-type with PZT/Metal was manufactured. The piezoelectric transducer with 200kHz resonance frequency was designed by considering the sharp directivity and the sound pressure. The dielectric and piezoelectric properties of 0.5 weight percent $MnO_2$ and NiO doped $0.1Pb(Mg_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})O_3-0.45PbTiO_3-0.42PbZrO_3$ ceramics were investigated aiming at acoustic transducer applications. Also, the acoustic characteristics of a thin circular disc-type with metal-piezoceramics have been Investigated.

  • $^{13}C-NMR$ behaviors of phenolic compounds such as phenol, catechol, pyrogallol, resorcine, phoroglucine and hydroquinone were studied. From the study on the effects of OH-substitution on benzene and its dervatives it was found that the additivity rule can be applied to the ortho-and para-effect but not to the meta-effect for the OH-function. The empirically calculated chemical shifts regarding the o-and p-effects coincide very well with the results of measurement. The chemical shifts of the phenolic compounds can be classified into three types. 1) Catechol-type C-1 and C-2 145 ppm C-3 and C-6 116-107 ppm 2) Pyrogallol-type C-1 132ppm C-2 and C-6 146ppm C-3 and C-5 106ppm 3) Resorcin-type C-1 and C-3 159ppm C-2 103-95ppm C-4 and C-6 107ppm

  • A provision crane is generally installed on the upper deck to the rear of the accommodation of the ship in order to load and unload engine part or something heavy. There are two types of provision cranes: one is jib-type and the other is monorail-type. So the natural frequency of the jib-type crane equipment is low, therefore, there are some possibility of resonance between crane structure and the main excitation sources of the ship in normal operating range. This study describe a vibration reduction technique for provision crane by applying a proper countermeasure through finite element analysis and modal test. In order to find out weak point in design of provision crane, a sensitive analysis has been performed.

  • In the present research, dynamic analysis of functionally graded (FG) graphene-reinforced beams under thermal loading has been carried out based on finite element approach. The presented formulation is based on a higher order refined beam element accounting for shear deformations. The graphene-reinforced beam is exposed to transverse periodic mechanical loading. Graphene platelets have three types of dispersion within the structure including uniform-type, linear-type and nonlinear-type. Convergences and validation studies of derived results from finite element approach are also presented. This research shows that the resonance behavior of a nanocomposite beam can be controlled by the GPL content and dispersions. Therefore, it is showed that the dynamical deflections are notably influenced by GPL weight fractions, types of GPL distributions, temperature changes, elastic foundation and harmonic load excitation frequency.

  • This paper presents design and analysis of stator which is vibration source of ring-type ultrasonic motor. The stator were designed for 9th flexural vibration mode. Designed stator was simulated by FEA for changing its materials. As results, the resonance frequencies of stators were changed by Poisson's ratio and density. And higher displacement were obtained by using the materials of low Young's modulus. Using the results, can easily design and manufacture the stator of ring type ultrasonic motor. And we suppose that it can save the time and finances.

MPV-Reduction of C=O bond with Al-substituted-dialkylalan; A Theoretical Study on Relative Reactivity of Various Carbonyl Substrates

  • Relative reactivity of various carbonyl and acid derivatives in MPV-type (Meerwein-Ponndorf-Verley) reduction with an DIBAL(F) model has been studied via DFT and MP2 methods. Free energies of initial adduct formation (-Gadd) of DIBAL(F) model and carbonyls are in the order of amide < ester < aldehyde < ketone < acid chloride; in the alan-amide adduct, the developed positive charge at carbonyl carbon is expected to be stabilized by amide resonance, but in the acid chloride adduct it is destabilized by inductive effect of chloride. However the TS barrier energies (${\Delta}G_{TS}$) for the MPV-type hydride reduction of the carbonyl adducts are in the order of aldehyde < ketone < acid chloride << ester < amide; presumably decreasing order of electrophilicity of carbonyl carbon at adducts, which is well correlated with experimental data. It is noted that the relative reactivity of carbonyl derivatives in MPV-type reduction with DIBAL(X) is not governed by the alan-adduct formation energies, but follows the order of electrophilicity of carbonyl carbon of transition states.

  • On this paper, piezoelectric transducer was studied through direct piezoelectric effect. Circular unimorph type piezoelectric transducer is fabricated by attaching circular type PZT ceramic to circular plate of brass. The fabricated transducer was simulated and analyzed by using FEM program, ANSYS. Output characteristics were measured by applying diverse frequencies, including resonance frequency, of vibrator to transducer, and then the results were compared with ANSYS results. In addition, each characteristic was measured at two constraint conditions to obtain higher efficiency.

  • This paper deals with transmission loss characteristics of the panel type silencer to control low frequency noise. The panel type silencer is composed of many Helmholtz resonators by side branch. Each resonator has high transmission loss on the narrow band of its resonance frequency. Direct arrangement of the resonators increases mainly the magnitude of transmission loss. If we arrange the resonators in a row, the peak and band of transmission loss are increased. This makes the resonator array to have high transmission loss in the broader band. Using this idea, we design a silencer that has broader band characteristics and smaller volume.

  • A plate-type linear ultrasonic motor using logitudinal and bending multi-vibration mode was designed and fabricated for the application to card-forwarding device. The stator consisted of PZ-PT-PMS piezoelectric ceramic plate and stainless steel. The performances of the motor were measured. As the experimental results, no-load speed of the motor was 0.6m/s when applied voltage was $80\textrm{V}_{rms}$ in resonance frequency. Starting torque was 1.4 mNm and maximum efficiency was 1.2%.

  • STFR were fabricated on the floating membrane which was formed by SOI-micromachining process. The floating membranes having a thickness range of $3{\sim}15{\mu}m$ could be simply formed by micromachining the directly-bonded and thinned SOI substrate. The STFR device fabricated on the $15{\mu}m$-thick membrane showed resonance frequency of fr = 1.65 GHz, coupling coefficient of Keff2 = 2.4 %, and series and parallel quality factors of Qs = 91.7 and Qp = 87.7, respectively.
