  • Quantitation of N7-methyldeoxyguanosine (N7-MedG) produced in the in vitro N-methly-N-nitrosuourea (NMU) action on thymus DNA has been achieved by enzymatic degradation, liquid chromatoraphic separaphic separation and desorption chemical ionization tandem mass spectrometry. In conjunction with the resolving power HPLC in the separation of isomers, desorprion chemical ionization tandem mass spectrometry has utilized in determining modified nucleosides at low levels using a stable-isotope labled compound as an internal reforence. The quantitative estimation of N7-methyldeoxyguanosine was previously established by an independent HPLC analysis of methylated calf thymus DNA. A sensitive and specific methodogy for the quantitation of N7-MedG at the picomole level using HPLC combined with tandem mass spectrometry without radioisotope labeling process is presented. The potential of the liquid chromatoraphic tandem mass exposure to methlation agents in vitro.

  • This study compared the meaning of words in the play songs of the Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea(DPRK). Sixteen children who had escaped from North Korea participated in this survey in Seoul by responding to a questionnaire. In the DPRK, children sing formal songs, used as instruments of ideological socialization. Among the songs were 4 composed prior to the creation of the DPRK in 1945. The other songs were composed after 1945 and exhibited ideological characteristics. Despite differences in sources, themes, and ideologies of play songs, some of them contained common themes, materials, rhythms, and typical Korean emotional structure. Considering the power of play songs in spreading cultural influence, they might be the key to resolving psychological conflicts of both Koreas after unification.

  • Morphologically annotated corpora are the basis for many tasks of computational linguistics. Most current approaches use statistically driven methods of morphological analysis, that provide just POS-tags. While this is sufficient for some applications, a rule-based full morphological analysis also yielding lemmatization and segmentation is needed for many others. This work thus aims at 〔1〕 introducing a rule-based Korean morphological analyzer called Kormoran based on the principle of linearity that prohibits any combination of left-to-right or right-to-left analysis or backtracking and then at 〔2〕 showing how it on be used as a POS-tagger by adopting an ordinary technique of preprocessing and also by filtering out irrelevant morpho-syntactic information in analyzed feature structures. It is shown that, besides providing a basis for subsequent syntactic or semantic processing, full morphological analyzers like Kormoran have the greater power of resolving ambiguities than simple POS-taggers. The focus of our present analysis is on Korean text.

  • In this paper, an effective method for resolving difficulty resulting from the heterogeneity of the PWR baffle/reflector region is developed on the basis of the AFEN method. The essential difference of the new method from the conventional approach based on the equivalence theory is that the heterogeneous baffle/reflector is directly, without homogenization, considered as a node in nodal calculation Numerical results show that AFEN method with the new method can accurately predict both the multiplication factor and the power distribution of thermal reactors with baffle explicitly modeled.

  • Morgenthau claims that in international relations, there are the economic, political, and military powers that enable a nation to achieve its political and diplomatic goals. This paper explores the possibility of resolving international conflicts with naval power. First, the theoretical and historical perspective, naval power was used as a final resort to force a nation's political or diplomatic objective on an enemy nation when negotiations failed, and this was done through the physical and psychological destruction of the enemy by naval power. But as the use of military power has decreased because of the invention of the nuclear weapon, the existence of a large and capable navy deterrent has become one of the most useful military options among a nation's diplomatic measures. In other words, he focused on the political usefulness of naval power as a deterrent and coercive diplomatic tool for persuading other nations to acquiesce, rather than using naval power and actual military action as a final resort. The reason for this is that compared to army and air force, navy's flexibility, continuity, and the ability to deter are greater. The navy provides excellent accessibility through its wide mobility on the sea, and it has been shown through research that the navy possesses a political usefulness that facilitates the solution of conflicts through presence, naval intervention, and naval blockade. On the other hand, among the factors that could improve the influence of the navy are alliance relations, a reliable and powerful navy, carrots and sticks that it would have to deal with in the case of successful or unsuccessful negotiations, and support from international opinion. On this paper I introduce E.N.Luttwak's naval suasion theory. By the his theory, there are two mode of naval suasion. One is latent naval suasion the other is active suasion. Latent suasion there are deterrent mode and supportive mode. Active naval suasion there are coercive mode and supportive mode. Coercive mode has positive and negative. The limitations of naval suasion have been identified as follows. First, because the objective of the use of naval power is persuading enemy nations, the results are unpredictable. Second, the leaders of all countries possess limited understanding on the complexities of naval power and therefore lack understanding of the usefulness of naval power when choosing options. Third, in case of failure through naval suasion, prestige and reputation of a nation can be damaged. Finally, the following are additional possible research topic. First, a research on the decision making process of choosing naval power as a measure to resolve conflicts is needed. Lastly, research on the size of the navy and types of ships required for efficient naval suasion is needed. Today's world requires cooperative security regime so that middle class navy also requires political use of naval power in solving international conflicts. Therefore, additional research on this topic is needed.

  • ESS is an essential requirement for resolving power shortages and power demand management and promoting renewable energy at a time when the energy paradigm changes. In this paper, we propose a cost-effective ESS Peak-Shaving operation plan through load and solar power generation forecast. For the ESS operation plan, electric load and solar power generation were predicted through RMS, which is a statistical measure, and a target load reduction guideline for one hour was set through the predicted electric load and solar power generation amount. The load and solar power generation amount from May 6th to 10th, 2019 was predicted by simulation of load and photovoltaic power generation using real data of the target customer for one year, and an hourly guideline was set. The average error rate for predicting load was 7.12%, and the average error rate for predicting solar power generation amount was 10.57%. Through the ESS operation plan, it was confirmed that the hourly guide-line suggested in this paper contributed to the peak-shaving maximization of customers.Through the results of this paper, it is expected that future energy problems can be reduced by minimizing environmental problems caused by fossil energy in connection with solar power and utilizing new and renewable energy to the maximum.

  • If a digital signage system is operated in PC mounted in the Window OS then the implementing price is very high. For resolving this problem, we used the Smartphone mounted in ARM Cortex family of multi-core processor-based mobile platform. We developed a low-power low-cost digital signage system and a remote convergence content management program based on web server. This convergence system manages advertising content to a remote control device anywhere using remote control technology. This system is one integrated system with display and is a low-power consumed and is developed in very efficient hardware interface. And condition sensors(intensity of illumination, temperature, weather, GPS etc) is equipped in the developed system. Automatic contents builder and Context-aware SMIL module is also implemented in the convergence system. We achieved over 50% power savings comparing with conventional Window OS system and 16 points multi-touch in our system.

  • With aggravation of environmental contamination and energy resource exhaustion, Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEV) that can be economically operated with low fuel consumption are receiving greater attention. For performance improvement of such HEV, the development of efficient transmission can be seen as one of core technologies such as performance of components and driving strategy. Dual clutch transmission (DCT) is actively studied as a transmission type for HEV due to its advantages of having excellent power transmission efficiency based on manual transmission characteristic, resolving the problem of power interruption, and realizing driving convenience of automatic transmission (AT). In this paper, one diesel HEV equipped with 6-Speed DCT, modelled using MATLAB/Simulink, and a performance simulator developed for this vehicle are introduced. Driving simulation with driving cycles such as FTP75 and NYCC was performed using the developed performance simulator, and the simulated results regarding state of charge and fuel economy, when AT and DCT are applied to this diesel hybrid vehicle respectively, are compared. This performance simulator can be utilized to develop a control algorithm for improving the fuel economy of HEV with DCT.
